  1. Watched our match tonight vs UMKC. Bison won 3-1 and looked pretty good but not stellar. This team doesn't have the athletes that they have been accustomed to but the cupboards not bare. And they're young. Im expecting these teams to match up well.

  2. The biggest reason the Force outdraw Bison hoops is because alcohol is sold at Force games. Also the current BSA is an eyesore to put it mildly. The temperature variances in that building are crazy. Down towards the floor it is cold (especially early in the game) as the doors are open alot as people are still coming in. Up top (where I sit of course) is like a f**king oven under those lights. The upgrade has been a long time coming but it appears that the funding is very close to being secured and the days of playing in that God forsaken place are numbered.

  3. A conference record including the Portland State game of better than 500 will be a good season considering we have never experienced the grind of playing Big Sky opponents every week. I would also like to see us beat Montana more than any other team...the griz are the conference champs and we have more of a history with them than anyone else.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Montana after all the problems this off season. Montana could be a very winnable game for you guys this year. I think a win against the Bobcats would be more impressive.
  4. If UND goes to some Air-Raid crap I'd imagine it is a mistake. Almost everyone in the BIg Sky chucks it around. Someone needs to be the Ground-N-Pound. Plus you can pound the rock in the rain, in the wind, in the snow, in a dome. Air-Raid crap is annoying and soft. Run the ball.

Good point. The Big Sky has been trending to a more pro-style look for a while. It seems this area produces a lot of great O and D linemen which kind of reflects the philosophy of UND, NDSU, SDSU ect.
  5. The Bison team that showed up the last two weeks will not be going to Frisco. Our once very deep team is suddenly thin in some key areas. Our QB is struggling with turf toe and his play has dropped off. Thankfully we have a week to heal up and if we can start playing the caliber of football we had mid-season the Bison will have an excelent chance to go all the way. I'm glad Montana is on the other half of the bracket cuz they are playing the best football in the FCS going in to post season play. I have a feeling they are going to steamroll the top half of the bracket and play either Georgia Southern or NDSU for the title.

  6. We haven't had the dominating games that we've been expecting in our bracket in this tournament, and Oakland is playing real tough right now. We need Woody and Winks to show up big time. This is going to be an entertaining game. We want this so bad it hurts. Go Bison!

  7. What do you guys think of names on the back of jerseys. This has been turned down every time it has come up at SU. I can understand the reasons to shake the look up a bit, with the move to D-I and probable name change. But at the same time it is also important to incorporate that with tradition. I would personally be against anything too drastic. How about throwbacks for one game? Break out the old silver helmets.

  8. Thank you all for the support! We may never see a team quite like this one at NDSU. Sure there will be more great players and great teams, but the stars really had to align for us to be in this spot with this team. Hopefully UND can find a conference(hopefully the summit) and build it's men's basketball program. It may take a bit longer but it will come around. And good luck to the Sioux hockey team in the post-season. I think you have the WCHA pretty much wrapped up if I heard right.

  9. 34 SUU

    20 Texas State

    Final

    27 SIU

    24 UNI

    Final

Coach Lennon gets his first conference win, and a huge one at that.

Good for SUU!! Hopefully they can build on that. I was also pulling for SIU to beat UNI. Hopefully they beat up on each other a little. We have to play them both in the next few weeks.

  10. That blog entry reminds me of the guy who said Valpo was gonna run NDSU over. I'm not saying Valpo and Idaho St are equal so don't get your panties in a bundle but I can't imagine they stand that much of a chance thursday. That guy knows nothing about UND. I do think they will score on ya this time though.

  11. Hey, that's not so bad. You will do better with the next home games with some good teams coming up there. I guess I don't know exact numbers, but I'd bet you guys are right at our first year attendance.

I don't think that's likely. In 2004 NDSU averaged 13,269. For a transitional year schedule, and considering market size I'd say UND is doing pretty good. Gotta build it up year by year.

  12. It's funny no Bison fans have commented on the picture connected to the newspaper story. Usually there all over stuff like that when it involves a mistake the other way around. I guess Bison fans are hoping no one noticed. That is way to funny!!!!!

Saw this on Bisonville yesterday. It doesn't piss me off anymore because I've seen it so many times both ways. Get a haircut hippie!!

  13. It is interesting (I hope not overly concerning) that this year's offensive line is by far the smallest in recent history. There is only one starter (Bondy) and only one backup (Quesenberry) that are over 280. We know that Troen and Braegelmann are very talented and very effective at their weight - I hope that will be true of other OLs!

I wouldn't be to worried. I think that's kind of been the trend in recent years, to get leaner more athletic linemen. I know Bohl's linemen are quite a bit lighter than what the Bison had with that other guy. :silly: 308 lbs average in 2000.

  14. Therre is no bitterness towards Dale from anyone with an IQ above 60. Dale was a class guy and won a titile and was the runner-up once. No one else has done that. He didn't pursue SIU they pursued him. If you want to move up in the coaching world you go when you get the opportunity. The five year hiatus from the playoffs would have hurt his chances. This was a good move for him. When Bohl goes, you will say the same. They are both good coaches and if you can make >$1million in the business at the D1 level you have to go where the money is. If someone still thinks what UND and NDSU are doing is D1 FB, read Sports Illustrated this week. The college FB preview doesn't seem to include the Class B (BCS) teams.

You're absolutely correct. I'm not exactly sure where I had heard that but I could hardly believe it after how successful he was at UND. The coaching carousel is gonna be more of a problem at this level, but atleast it's a product of success. I would be very suprised if Bohl is still at NDSU at the end of his seven year contract. Life will go on.

  15. Hey Sioux fans! I was just curious to know if any of you are planning on going to the NDSU/SIU game on 10-4. I just read on Bisonville that the game (which happens to also be homecoming) is already just about sold out. I'm wondering if this is due to a bunch of Sioux fans pre-ordering tickets to come cheer for Lennon or against us? Also is there any truth to the rumor of bitterness against Lennon for the way he handled his departure?? He seemed to be a first class guy, and flat out great coach and that would be sad!!

    P.S. I don't intend for this to devolve into a Bison/Sioux smackfest!!!!

    GOOD LUCK IN 2008!!!

  16. I would say that the difference between the your #1's and thiers is probably not all that much. I think the difference is that SIU should be a deeper team than UND and conventional wisdom would have them wearing the Sioux down rather than blowing you away. But as you guys found out a couple years ago that lack of depth can be overcome. Should be a hell of a game!
