SIOUX VS GOPHERS - LOSER GOES HOME, WINNER TO ST LOUIS
Craig Lowell replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
Playing BC means that you will have every HC fan on your side. Not that you wouldn't anyway, but it'll certainly pique the others' interests that much more! Enjoy the wins folks! -

One of our favorite chants is "God's on our side" He hasn't been too busy lately, so I told him to give you guys a call. -

Personally I'm hoping Oshie gets the GW. His style impressed me the most of all the Sioux players last year. -

Oh I get that you were kidding this time. But that's pretty sad that the jersey pop has moved on to college hockey. Such a bush league move. Almost as much as Kessel holding his hand to his ear. -

Please tell me Gopher players don't actually do the jersey pop. God I hate that. -

Just got home, and I'm looking for a stream (audio or video) of the game? Does anyone know of one? I realize there might be info somewhere in the thread, but I really don't want to search through 10 pages. Thanks in advance! -
I understand your logic, and even though I'm obviously not a Sioux fan the way that you and everyone else on this board are, there's a BIG difference between rooting for both the Sioux and the Crusaders as opposed to rooting for the Sioux and the Gophers. UND and UMN are in constant competition with one another, and bitter rivals. From my perspective, that's like someone rooting for both the Rangers and the Devils. When one wins, it's pretty much always bad for the other, except for a few rare situations. HC and UND, on the other hand, are on completely different levels. Except for our two meetings in the NCAAs, I doubt there has ever been a situation where a Holy Cross win would adversely affect the Sioux.

I posted the updates because there were many Sioux fans who said that they became HC fans as well, so I figured those people might be interested. You're not, fine. Don't read about it. But you're offended by this?!?!?! My god, who's the 12 year old?
-
Wow. That's one of the most arrogant things I've ever heard. You sound like a Yankee fan. Besides, who the hell said HC was on the same level as UND and the other powerhouses? What do you want us to do, come kiss your feet because you choose to root for a good team. Get over yourself. Thank god you're in the vast minority of Sioux fans.
-
I'd say that's what the Gophers are saying, but I don't think they'll take their first round opponent so lightly this year
-
You know I'll be rooting for the Falcons tomorrow. And of course for the Sioux as well! Good luck guys. Oh, and in case anyone else is interested, D Jon Landry (HC '07) was signed by the Blue Jackets last week: http://www.bluejackets.com/news/press/arts/3657.0.html

And the rest of the '06 Crusaders: Tyler McGregor: Currenly with the Memphis RiverKings of the CHL. 5 goals and 8 assists in 45 games. Appearing in almost all of their games, though I can't see how many minutes per game. He also gets demerits for playing on a team that has a dance team. Ugh. http://www.riverkings.com/team/rost...ml?player_id=28 Added bonus: Memphis will be playing Quesada's Austin team tomorrow night! Ben Conway: Appeared in two games with the RiverKings, but left at the end of November to take a job offer. No other details. http://www.riverkings.com/home/news...article_id=1381 (scroll about halfway down) Marc Bianchi: Getting lots of playing time for the Lubbock Cotton Kings of the CHL. http://www.cottonkings.com/index.ph...task=view&id=69 (you can see his stats with the tab on top of the page) I know Pierre Napert-Frenette took a job on Wall Street after he graduated. It doesn't look like Blair Bartlett or Andrew Weber pursued their hockey careers any further either.

And if anyone is interested, Tony Quesada is now playing with the Austin Ice Bats of the CHL after a so-so stint with the Houston Aeros of the AHL, which is the team I believe he was with when he tore his ACL. [Edit: He did not tear his ACL; it was his miniscus. He had surgery to repair it.] But he seems to have recovered nicely, and is currently putting up some impressive numbers even though he's not getting much offensive support: 2-5-2, 2.80 GAA, 91.6 SV% http://www.icebats.com/players/tony_quesada.htm

None from this game, but here are a few other clips. Hey everyone, I just wanted to share the link to the YouTube video that someone (possibly one of you, I don't know) put up which splices the ESPNU feed with the WCHC audio. I listen to it all the time at work whenever I get wistful for college! And to anyone who still reads this, thank you again for all your support last year! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnRfpcc3LZA&eurl=
