Wrong. As it stands now Minnesota is #5 in the power rankings, which means a #2 seed, not a #1. Nathan, whether Minnesota wins the Final Five or not may be irrelevant. If they are the top 4 in the power rankings at the time the selections are made, they will get a #1 seed, if they are 5 or below they won't. But, Minnesota stays home regardless of their seed. If they are a 2 seed, CC still goes to the closest regional, which would be the West in Minny. If Minnesota gets a 1 seed, CC will then go to Michigan.
Read USCHO Bracketology for the explanation especially as it relates to UND and St. Cloud.
Regardless, the season doesn't end anytime soon, at least we hope, so there is really no sense in getting ahead of ourselves.
Like I said, if the Gophers go to the championship game, whether they win or not, the PWR's will flip with BU and possibly Cornell and UNH, thereby placing them into the top 4. Of course, it would really help the Gopher cause if Wisconsin could knock off Mankato and stay as a TUC.

Sounds good, stuckinfargo. Thanks!
Greyeagle, apparently Scott didn't think you guys were enough of a challenge.
Sir Murphy ran away. Bravely ran away away. When POI reared its ugly head, Sir Murphy turned his tail and fled.
Or should I say hobbled?
How's the knee Murph?

West Regional:
Colorado College vs. Mercyhurst
Minnesota vs. St. Cloud
This won't happen. They will at the very least switch Ohio State and St. Cloud. There is no way they are putting 3 WCHA teams in. Besides, if the Gophers get into the final of the Final Five, they will be granted a #1 seed in the West, thereby moving CC to the Midwest.

This would be excellent, especially for those of us Gopher fans who already have the Dish multi-sport package, and would like to see a game between UND-CC on a given weekend instead of the CCHA game of the week (Western Michigan-Lake State, ugh!) or the Hockey East game of the week (UMass-Lowell vs. Northeastern.)
I believe Victory Sports also inked a deal with Mankato to televise games next year.

Come on Scott!
You have to lace them up. We're all counting on you.

I think what PCM is saying is more along the lines of what we were looking for. I know that's pretty much how it's handled down here, maybe when you have a history of issues within the athletics department, you look for any way to cover your butt?

I don't think any of us Gopher fans are mentioning anything about the comments re: Crosby in jealousy as you would like to believe.
The reason we ask is because it appears that Blais does in fact comment frequently about recruits, whereas none of the Minnesota coaches mention any recruiting until the LOI has been signed.
We aren't trolling, just looking for an explanation on whether or not it could be construed as a violation or not.

I was going to comment on Blais' comments on Crosby before I saw these last 2 comments.
What is the exact rule, and where do his comments lie? It would appear that Blais is dancing the line on commenting on future recruits before they signed an LOI. Am I misinterpreting the ruling, or is he okay by not mentioning his interest in the program, or any specifics of a possible commitment?
Seems like all the Gopher coaches play it safe when dealing with recruiting by stating "Due to NCAA regulations I cannot make any comments regarding specific recruits until they sign a Letter of Intent."
Am I way off-base here, or could he be looking at some investigation?

Sorry, Nathan, but it's well known around here that this is the only hot, sweaty hockey player forecheck truly cares about.
Good lord! It's Oglethorpe
"Ogletorpe?"

Come on Nicole, lace em up!
You know you want to be in the middle of a bunch of hot, sweaty guys!

There were a couple rumors going around the various NHL and Calgary boards since Sutter took over in Calgary that he does not like having American's on the roster, and really doesn't like having American Collegiate players on the roster. Don't know if there is anything to that, just reporting what I've read recently.

Are we starting a pool on how many drinks Scott will buy us?
BTW, Happy Belated Birthday! I'm glad the Sioux could pull it out on your special day.

Well, if the "braintrust" back at POI headquarters ever figures out the POI-SCSU fiasco, maybe wecan get this off the ground.
I'd be in, although I think I'm going to be spending most of my time wondering how many drinks ScottM is going to buy the groups after the game!
Wait a minute, I think you guys should bring NiMiller down as your cheerleader.
Too bad this guy is going to Vermont.

Maybe it's just me, but I think he'll be an outstanding fit for the ECAC. They all have the small ice, and for the most part play a defensive style. He'll be able to take up space (and I mean A LOT of space) in the slot and should be able to lay a body on some of the bigger guys like Cornell has.
I'm happy for him. Frankly I miss Vermont being a high quality team. When they had St. Louis and that bunch they were a great team.
