Thanks for the link to my cancer blog. I try to post something every few days plus include a song/music video that sort of describes how I am feeling or what's going on.
I'm feeling really good right now and had some amazing results from my treatment, so thanks to everyone who has sent prayers my way!

Just a couple of quick updates for everyone...
I'm headed into MD Anderson tomorrow for xrays, blood work and then a class to teach me how to take care of my central line that'll be used during chemotherapy. Then I'll actually have my central line installed on Thursday followed by starting chemotherapy a few hours later. The whole chemo process that day is supposed to take about 5 hours.
Trying to create a website for me has turned into a bit of a fiasco, but I finally talked to my boss at Wissports.net and he may be putting something together for me now. So be on the lookout for that.
As for you interested in helping my family and I financially, a PayPal account has been created and is linked below.
Thanks,
Marlin Lee

Thanks everyone. Sorry I haven't made it over to SiouxSports in a while...obviously I have some other major things going on in my life right now.
I just found out today that the cancer has spread to both of my hips and my left shoulder in addition to the now football-sized tumor that's in my right chest wall. Doctor said my 5-year survival rate is probably about 7%. Things aren't exactly looking wonderful, but I'm definitely going to put up a fight.
My first batch of chemotherapy will probably begin mid-week next week. Just waiting on my insurance to approve everything.
Also, a bunch of people are currently in the process of setting up a website and benefit fund to help my family offset some of my medical bills as I'm the sole financial provider for my family of 4 kids (7 years old, 4 years old, 3 years old and 6 months) and my wife. They're also going to be setting up some benefit concerts, silent auctions, raffles, etc. Any help anyone could give would be GREATLY appreciated. I'll post a link to the website once it's created.
Thanks,
Marlin

Considering recent recruitment "non-revelations" (Benjamin, Watkins, Magstadt), count me among those who suspect we may have some quality recruits not yet known.
And even though it's the eleventh hour, it appears there may be a number of prospects still out there. Among others, I've yet to see commitments reported for:
Minnesota
Dan Brown; KARE 11/Star-Tribune All-Metro WR (6'5")
Derek Earls; KARE 11/Star-Tribune All-Metro RB/LB(?)/Punter (6'3", 215)
Mathew Muenchow; DB/QB/Punter with previous interest from UND and NDSU
Rashad Gayden; LB with prior UND interest
Willy Baregi, Holy Angels; LB with prior UND interest
Jarid Jackson; highly-graded Champlin Park LB
Andrew Anderson, Crookston; OL (6'7"?)
Jordan Anderson, NewFolden; Minnesota nine-man All-Stater, OL/DL
Wisconsin
Damon Campbell, Wisconsin Lutheran; AP player of the year at LB; prior reported UND and UNI interest
Tyrell Rosemeyer, Fennimore LB; AP First Team (6' 220#); Has UND offer (and Wisconsin walk-on in vite
Tony Lyght, Fennimore OL; Prior reported UND interest (6'5" 290#)
Harold Lloyd, Janesville; AP First Team at both OL and DL
Rumor is Campbell is headed for Minnesota State-Mankato, but I haven't been able to confirm that yet.
Rosemeyer's final 5 are Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, Winona State and UW-La Crosse.
Lyght had an official visit to Minnesota State-Mankato this past weekend and said he is likely going to end up there.
Heard Lloyd may have committed to Wayne State, but haven't been able to confirm that either.

UND has reportedly offered Port Washington (WI) safety Erik Mersereau. link

There is absolutely no way that someone growing up in this era would take the time or have the abilities to find such an obscure site on a new-fangled invention like the World Wide Web, that's just crazy talk.
To help put some of this stuff to rest...Heimler wasn't misquoted. What was written was exactly what he said. I've also received a statement from Heimler (who reads this forum) about this matter.
Message from Jon Heimler to me:
"Reading through the North Dakota forums it seems like I have created quite a bit of conrtoversy about the whole retractable roof stadium deal. That's not going to be up in my career there and i knew that. The indoor practise stadium will be however."
Hope that helps end some of this bickering.

a possible decommitment....?
You are correct sir.

Mitch Goertz verbal has been confirmed on wisfootball.net, 6-3 225 LB from DC Everest.
I was finally able to get in touch with Mitch today and he confirmed it.
-
Thanks - I really appreciate the info. Is the Goertz kid from DC Everest considering UND or NDSU?
I've never talked to him before, so I really don't know. I'm checking on it though.

Meaning that you wrote the article? If so, please give us your thoughts about each of the WS kids who have committed to us.
I wrote it for WisFootball.net and they swiped it and stuck the info in their list. Anyways, a short little blurb on each kid:
Goska - great athlete....looks like a safety at the college level. Good option QB.
Rose - could play a couple of different positions, but will start out at QB. Star player at a small school.
Murray - one of the best RB's from NW WI in recent years. Was close to setting career record marks for that portion of the state but missed a few games this year.
Simmons - big offensive lineman who was recruited by the big boys early. Blocked for all-american John Clay.
Bryant - good defensive back at a football powerhouse. Had great coaching in high school and will continue to improve.
-
I checked out this link and it said we have a commitment from Troy Bryant out of WI too.
http://wisconsinpreps.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=622903
anybody know anything about him.. couldn't find any info on him with the player search
That's b/c Wisconsinpreps.com took their info from my article.
-
Do you know anything about him?
6-foot-1, 184 pounds.....honorable-mention all-state pick by the WFCA and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Played on an 11-1 Menomonie team that is always a Wisconsin HS football powerhouse.
-

Thanks for the prayers! They're definitely welcomed. And keep reading! I've taken some time off from my recruiting writing and so this cancer blog has become my new creative outlet. So it's always nice to know other people out there are actually taking the time to read what I write.
