just back from the RR/South game and right now South is a team in VERY serious disarray! RR dominated them in every aspect of the game in a frankly, embarrasing, 8-0 Red River win. Dean's got a month to pull them together or they have no chance to repeat...
Wonder what Wilson will say in tomorrows papr. Will he give RR some credit this time or is he going to make excuses about his team and say that if they played together they would be the best team cause they have the most talent. RR just had running time in the third period, against the defending state champs and their first line scored only twice. RR definetely has the most talent. Solid game from Schaefer, Vigen, and Erickson line (5 goals).

I predict that Red River will win by a score of 3-2.
Alex Simonson is making his RR debut in the JV game, what do u guys think about that?

I just don't like seeing the team I played for, go out and make a mockery of our program. I realize that this years team isn't nearly as good as last years team so maybe I shouldn't hold them to as high of a standard but I still have a lot of Red River pride. There is nothing I hate more than to see my alma mater go out and make a program that has been so good in the past look bad by beating a terrible EGF team 5-4 and than beat a team like WF 3-2.
WOW if you are truly a alma mater and former player of RR, it is pathetic that you talk down a team you played for. HAVE SOME CLASS !

I agree, Devils Lake is looking good this year but Red River will show why its a state title contender. RR 7 DL 2.

The only thing I'm taking into account right now is the scores of the games. I am not able to attend all these games obviously so I go by what the final score states. In any sense, a game is three full periods long. Not one period, not two periods, not two periods and 8 minutes. If Wahpeton is tied with Grafton for two periods and five minutes into the third, but then Grafton scores ten goals in the remainder of the game, they still won 10-0. Good for Central that they were able to hang on for that long, but it was only a matter of time until South pulled away, which they did. South made a statement with decisive wins over White Bear Lake (5-1), Grafton (6-2), and Fargo North (9-3).
I dont care about there wins and losses, I think that you can not determine the best team in the state by non-conferences games like south against white bear or RR against egf. Yes, Fargo South's win against WBL looks impressive but they had 2 empty net goals and also WBL isn't as strong as they have been in the past. Now in the case of RR and EGF, i went to the game and RR could have easily won 8-2 but Alex Christenson played unbelievable as he usually does, also in a rivalry game EGF, GFC, and GFRR always play tight games. Now as far as Grafton, West fargo, and Fargo North, how do we know that RR wont blow out Grafton and North, and West Fargo is always a scrappy team so if i were South I wouldnt overlook them. But the only way we will know for sure is to wait for early january in Fargo. RR vs. FS , start making your travel plans its gonna be a good one.

Normally I would be biased as I played for RR last year, as much of you know but, when this stupid of a post gets posted I have to step in.
South beats GFC 4-1 at Central and GFRR beats WF in GF 4-3? Not anywhere close to the best team? WHo is the best team? Thoughts please.
The best team in the state right now is no one. South and Red River are extremely even. Between goalies Deichert is the better of the two. Offensively, I honestly think RR has the edge I could be wrong but they can roll three lines that score. What does everyone else think?

I was very sad to hear this news. I knew Jason, not very well but I was nonetheless touched by his courage an will in life.

Maybe you should watch the game more and figure out what was going on before you arbitrarily blame a player.
But hey, when we're averaging 3 goals given up per game, do explain how throwing Finley under the bus is going to raise the average of goals per game we are scoring.
Keep trying though.
OK. Idoit i didn't blame finley for the loss i said the last goal was his fault becuz he lets his guy skate right by him to the net 4 a tap in goal. how about you get head out of your ass and read what my post says.

No one cares about the west in ND HS Hockey. Every team in the east with the exception of Shanley and Wahpeton, are 5 times as good as any team in the west. They get lucky if there 1 seed beats the east 4 seed at state. they should start Class B hockey out there.

It seems like it huh. one question though can he take finely with him. 3rd goal his fault, he couldn't cover a Redwood tree. ALSO my new nickname for him THE REDWOOD.

It is looking a lot like 2001-2002.
But I will still support the Sioux. We are losing as a team and it's just painful.
Joe Finely is the worst defenseman on the team, probably the WCHA. He doesn't hit, he doesn't cover anybody. 3rd goal tonight was his fault. He sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fargo South 4 GFC 1 FINAL
Fargo south struggled the whole game......it was a 1-1 game until 3 minutes left in the 3rd.....to even say that south is in a league of their own is insane......they played an awful game and there is no way that you could call fargo south the best team in the state or anywhere close to that.......WOW that is the word u could describe it as!!!
South and RR are very even. South has a better goalie, but i think RR has a bit of the edge offensively. DL is surprising. and central always plays good against good teams, but !@#!$ against the bad ones. Prediction for Jan. 4th ---- GFRR 5 GFC 3. Sioux suck.
