  1. From the boxscore, it looks like UND shot very well from behind the 3-point line and from the free throw line, but terribly from inside the line. The Sioux also dominated the boards, which is encouraging. Concordia has a poor record, but has played St. Cloud State tough twice already, and hadn't lost at home by more than six points prior to today.

it was a nice win to see. it looked as if they team has come together and are ready to sweep the NCC one last time.

  2. "I for sure had a hard time understanding this message to the UND" :) So what are you saying CoachD? Still pissed Bollinger got passed over for AD? I think UND made the right decision going for a go-getter...RB has the history but not the energy we need right now...just my opinion...

i thought this was about hockey, let the GRAVE DIGGER a.k.a SiouxMeNow worry about the old dirt. let's face it, it was time for a change and it would be easier on all to have UND friend/alumni to smooth out the bumps.

  3. Time will tell how intersested some of these potential canidates are..

One thing I hope for sure that our Athletice Administration really takes a long hard look at canidates with UND ties. We have such a rich tradition in Hockey it would be a same to go outside the envelope, If we have well deserving alumni that wants to give back.

In my opinion we have not looked at alumni and friends of the UND 1st for a long time (Hak and Lennon the only exceptions) and I am not just talking coaching, other areas as well.

i think it would be good to look for at alumni and friends of UND.

  4. Why is it so bad for a coach to tell the truth in the public? Knowing the coaches, I am sure they have talked to the players about this in the locker room before.

To juggernauthoop, it is not disrespectful to the player or family for the coach to tell the truth or what they believe. I am glad to see there are still some coaches out there who are willing to tell the truth and not walk on egg shells when talking about their program.

Then you follow up with an attempt to knock the assistant coach because they told everyone how the staff feels or how she feels. What are they suppose to do cuddle the players? This isn't high school anymore. Hopefully Ashley will step up her effort.

The true competitors shine through the adversity, so we will see what happens.

has roebuck ever done this in his tenure at UND. I think not and the key to this sentence is ROEBUCK. the HEAD COACH, reserves the right to do this. What if it was you and we did not know all the factors in your life-death, illness, injury etc... why don't we just go to the press\media and talk about your performance at work, and i assume you are an adult so you would not be too happy about it. i did not say they should baby the players, i beleive in tough love, tough love happends at HOME, not in the street.
  5. very true

If winning is the only thing college athletics is about....why have some coaches at UND who have not won still have a job?? Or other schools as well....it is a big picture not always wins and losses. At the end of your career or life, you wont remember the wins and losses. You will remember the players, your teammates, your fellow coaches, your fellow employees! As coach Glas said many many many times and he is 100% correct........at the end of the day its about building life long relationships and turning young 18 year old men or women into adults who can go out and function in society!!! I bet if you asked coach John Wooden what he cherishes most....it will be the same answer!!!

  6. I guess I don't understand the underachieving part?? 10-1, but they are not blowing everyone away?? The Men won a huge victory against a very poor team..is that a better result?? I have been to most of the games and I am not at practice, but I guess I don't see a lack of effort? I am confused as to that..they have had some set backs with injury and illness, but I haven't seen any blatant lack of effort. The Men are definately headed in the right direction and they are mu8ch better than last year, but concerns or not, if the coaching staff has such grave concerns with the women's team, perhaps they should address them internally and not publicly.

    again lack of respect!!

  7. One might be able to make the case that the criticisms are somewhat unwarranted if they weren't coming directly from the coaching staff (and not just Roebuck), but it certainly appears to me that if the coaches are displeased, then it's not entirely unfair for the fans to be a little restless, as well. I can accept it if a player is giving her all but the results just don't come because of perhaps a lack of ability or a bout of cold shooting; but when effort is allegedly a problem, it should be a concern to anybody who cares about the program. The sky isn't falling and the Sioux are still a good team, but let's not kid ourselves and act like there's nothing to be concerned about.

For the first time in several years, I actually feel like the men's team is more fun to watch for the simple fact that they seem to be giving all they have and are arguably overachieving. The women, while probably one of the most talented dII teams in the country, are arguably underachieving, despite their very good record.

I would think that shows lack of respect for the head coach and program. How disrespectful to the athletes and to those famlies. The coach that did this only played for three years, why is that?
