  1. Every year after the championship game the winning team and the losing team both throw objects onto the ice. I was sitting in the front row of the student section and as soon as I knew for sure the game was over, I threw my sign and stick over. Not trying to hit anybody nor was anyone else UNTIL the GPR players skated by. They didnt just skate by though, they were jersey popping, taunting and even taking the signs, laughing and throwing them back at us. I think it was funny though as a GPR cheerleader walked by the student section and made a crying face at us to be a little b*tch, someone threw a bottle at her and just barely missed. Happens every year, especially after we just got jipped from a game.

  2. hey dude..they lost..get over it...grafton has seen triple or more defeats in the championship game than RR..i think it was about time grafton won....and you can't force players to get penalties i want specific times that grafton deserved a penalty other than the obvious six man missed call...stop thinking demers cheap shoted ladoucer! how do you think that anyway wut did he do specifically? tell this to demers' face too...and i recorded the game on dvr also so your argument better be good....if RR would have scored there would be nothing but praise over the dominance of RR...grafton beat RR twice this year...they were the only team capable of doing it and they did

  3. Ryan was out because he was sick. Ryan and Jarret are the best two D pairs in the state. Ryan alone is probably the best hockey player in the state. And ya kmk131 I am making excuses, that's why I said GPR played better than RR and wanted it more. Just cause that wasn't a good goal doesn't mean I am making excuses. And I said we will see how good they really are, not that RR lost because of players not at their full par.

  4. That last goal was a joke anyway. Hit off the bar, then off Pat's back and in. Good game though. As a RR fan I do think they got outplayed. GPR wanted it more and it showed. We will just see how good they are when Ryan LaDouceur is back in the line up and all the players are healthy. Lookin forward to it and good luck to all the teams out there.

  5. I sincerely apologize for offending people on this predominantly Red River sight. Grafton may not demolish RR when they play them, but it will be a good game pitting GPR's offense v. RR defense. I'm sorry but South is the only team in the state that can be classified in a league of their own at the moment. RR isn't nearly what they are hyped up to be, the only thing they have is good defense who in turn make their goalie look half decent, and give their offense a chance. I saw RR goalie play in Fargo in the fall; I wasn't at all impressed with him when he didn't have strong defense in front of him.

So I guess RR's goalies anrt good, yet they are the top two in the state, tell me how that works? South is not in a league of their own and what do you mean RR isnt as good as they are hyped up to be? They're 6-0, tell me how theyre not good. You will say, "well that havnt played as hard of teams as South has." Well we will play them, dont worry about it. South and RR at this point are tied for 1st place, not in the standings but in reality. You cant say anyone will smoke anyone until they acaully play.

  6. South should definetly be ranked number one right now base on the games they have played and the teams they beat. I don't see how you can rank DL over Grafton though when Grafton beat DL. I also don't see why everyone thinks Red River is so good when they barely beat WF and East Grand. Grafton blew WF away when they played them. I think the interesting game will be when Grafton demolishes RR.

Was that a seriouse post? Stay off the coke buddy.

  7. To quote a NCAA division one soccer coach; "A true test of a team is how they play against a weak opponent, if they respect them. The greatest respect my players will pay any team is to play them at 100%, and if that means winning by 5 goals, then we win by five. Thats the greatest respect you can pay a team, to play your best against every team, all the time. If they can't do that against a weak opponent, I'm not sure how they'll do against a great opponent."

In my mind great teams show up to play every game. I am not a big fan of the argument, we lost because we played terrible. Because as far as I'm concerned, maybe the other team played terrible too. And until we're able to see what both teams are really capable of, it was a close game and should be treated as such. Every team has bad bounces in every game, sometimes those bounces lead to goals, sometimes they don't. As player or an avid fan of one team, sometimes your vision can become so clouded you only see things going wrong for your team, and are unable to see that in fact, those bounces affect both teams. It's how you react to them is what matters.

    I completly agree with you.

  8. So should we wait till South plays west fargo before we say who's better between those two? I can say South is the best team because i've seen both teams play. South is bigger, stronger, faster, deeper than Red River. Also when Red River struggles with a brutal West Fargo team it raises a red flag. South is the defending champ and will be number one until someone can knock them off. Period.

Ok, So RR plays a bad game against WF. No one can say who is a better team until the two teams match up. Im not going to say RR is, and im not going to say South is, we will just have to wait. I think it will be just like last year, the teams will go 50-50 during the season and state will prove the best team.

You cant put South over RR quite yet. They havnt played each other so we dont know who is better. South may be beating better teams than RR, but until they play each other, you cant say who is better.

  10. hey RR is still #1 or #2 with fargo south

DL far 3rd then after up for grabs prolly id say either GPR or FN

ugly season for GFC as there star player quit

RR and South are very good teams this year, I cant wait to go to Fargo on the 9th to watch them meet head to head. Central is having a hard season this year, but, I dont believe they can blame it to much on Alex Simonson quiting, he wasnt doing to much for the team this year. He is a very talented played, just not putting up the points. It could be because he may not have got enough playing time or something was wrong, I dont have enough info. to say anything more about it.

  11. Grand Forks Red Rivers top line of Crary, Vigen, and Meland is a very competent top line. However, I have yet to hear conclusive evidence that should make me believe they are the best line in the state besides the fact that they have managed to be 3,4, and 5th in the state in scoring after playing 4 weak teams. Fargo South has 4 players who are also in the top 31 in the state in scoring which gives me reason to believe they might have the best line in the state after playing White Bear Lake and having a competitive game. Jamestown also has three forwards in the top 31 along with Zach Welding who has attended National Festivals in previous years. He has 14 points. Fargo North has 3 players in the top 31 in scoring, leading that pack is Tanner Bombenger with with 12 points. Also on that line is Tyler Klein and according the the website for the high school elite league he was chosen to play in year end tournement that is combined from the best players in the elite league. Grafton Park-Rivers top line should not be overlooked either. They have a very talented Zach Miller and Tanner Hills who have both been very impressive so far. I do not believe anyone who is reasonable and knows a little bit about the sport would say at this point in time what line is in fact the best line in the state. In some cases, the line the scores the most goals, gets the most goals scored on them aswell. With that being said, some lines plus/minus may be far better than a line that has 10 more points. (I do believe however, that if Danny Wurden played forward Fargo South would have the undisputed top line in the state as I have heard rumors the Omaha Lancers of the USHL wanted him to play there this season and he decided to stay for his senior year).

Wow, impressive. I actually totally agree with you. We will not know the best lines until it is more into the season. And like you said, the top lines also have a lot of goals scored on them. So I think that the Meland, Vigen, and Crary line is a very good line, not the best, but up there.

  12. Um, Im sorry I havnt posted for the past 5 hours because ive been in Manvil. And no sorry, im not going to stop posting, your just pissed cuz I talk about RR, and you have nothing to say bad about them. Its funny to me that billy the kid talks so much smack about me not having any hockey knowlegde, yet he comes on here, doesnt talk anything about hockey, just rips on people who acaully make comments about the forum we are in. I also completly agree with you Hockeyfan09 about Riders first line. That line will be the one to keep South in second place. But looks like we will have to wait tell January to see who truely is the better team.

  13. I'm a little disappointed that RR and South don't play each other until January. Usually they play within the first two weaks of the season, but this year the first meeting is mid January. I guess the debating will continue about the best team in the state until then.... :glare:

RR isnt in the holiday tourny this year because it is Centrals turn. RR was in it last year, RR and Central switch every other year, so next year RR will be in it.

  14. RoughRider09....quit saying we, you are not on the team and have nothing to do with it. You sound like a complete moron who thinks they know what they are talking about.

Ok, so you've never been to high school? I say "we" meaning RR, because that is the school I represent. I know that if you were talking to someone about your school, you would say "we" representing the school you were talking about.

Oh, and RighteousOne, please tell me what I used as an excuse in that comment. I havnt said one excuse for my team. I dont need any excuses, we (red river) won the game and are seated number one. No excuses needed.

  15. did RR play ugly again or arent they as good as we thought or is EGF good this year?

Well, we played a good game, had many chances but couldnt capitalize on a few. EGF's goalie is what kept them in the game. EGF to me, as a fan in the stands, looked to be a pretty good team. I think that we could have played a better game then we acaully did, but hey, do what you gotta do as long as you get the W.
