  1. Well now that you mention it, the Blackhawks are very interested in changing their name to the Fighting Blackhawks. And they have had 'logo envy' since the unveiling of UND's new logo and would like to acquire the right for it's use. Although this is in the negotiating stage, the 'Hawks have been donating heavily to the UND legal fund in their litigation with the NCAA as a sign of good faith.

Oh, and they don't want to change their colors to the green, white and black; at this time. Changing the name to the Fighting Blackhawks and the use of the Fighting Sioux logo are simple changes aimed at not confusing the professional team from it's farm team.

What the Blackhawks need to do is draft or sign all players from the Sioux, then they will have the same team. Maybe they could be like the old soviet olympic teams that played together for so many years. :D

  2. You are welcome. And another Minot player, Rody Selk, formerly of the Jets is now playing for Des Moines and, as is well known, Jordan Willert is at Tri-City along with former Central player Mario Lamoureux.

I remeber when Wilert and Selk and Dittus were on Minot High together, they won Bantam A state on the same team as well.

  3. I said "maybe." I'm open to other possibilities, such as opposing teams thinking that Duncan is UND's mascot so they don't cover him. Towes and Oshie might be skating faster because they're running from the law.

Yeah! thats it Toews and Oshie are on the run from the law!

  4. Hopefully, many of those who come to this site know the answer. For those who do not, it would be Tyler Jundt from Williston who is now playing for the Green Bay Gamblers and Andy Dittus from Minot who is also at Green Bay. Dittus and Jundt both played very well at the Chicago Showcase last year. Most everyone knows that Paul Weisgarber played with the Jets after the high school season last year and is now with the Waterloo Blackhawks. Eric Galt was with Lincoln and now plays for North Iowa. Hopefully the top senior players in the state will be trying out for Team North Dakota and the state will have another outstanding performance at the Showcase.

Thanks ND Pride, i thought Dittus might be in there.

  5. It was brought up on USCHO, but if St Cloud wins on Friday (hope they don't) they'll have 36 points... and if Minnesota loses on Friday they will have 37 points. In that case, where would they take the McNaughton Cup? To St Cloud, or to Houghton?

Wow I thought Minnesota had it in the bag...guess not.

  6. His face was priceless when he won the award. He looked surprised!

Can you imagine though, not even making state and winning Mr.Hockey. I bet he was surprised. Good to see him win it though, i saw him play a couple times this year, he is so good. Hes incredibly fast and quick on his feet, epecialy when he has the puck on his stick.
