  1. Gopher fans are pathetic, beyond belief. We sat behind the Sioux bench tonight...there were two drunk Gopher fans sitting beside the bench harrassing Walski the entire night. What...your team is out so you have to pick on the remaining teams? Show some class and stay home when you get that drunk next time.

  2. I had a great treat Sunday. Drove from the Madison area to take my 15-year-old daughter to hockey camp at Engelstad. My 18-year-old daughter came along to help with the driving, and we had some real good time on the way back. So I got to spend hours with my growing up kids and some great time at the rink too. Those old pics scattered around the Ralph are great, and I found myself enjoying them more than I did when I drove up for a game. Having seen games at both the old barn and the old Ralph as a student, it was like memory lane. Although we live in Wisconsin, my youngest has become quite a Sioux hockey fan. When she saw Hak with his little toddler in the concourse, she had her sister take a pic of the herself with the coach. Fortunately, I didn't have to witness her around Sioux players helping with the camp. Girls.

Hope she had a great week at camp! My 15 year old son has been there all week for defense camp. He likes the fact that the girls are there all week, too. Sometimes I wonder if that's a bigger draw than the hockey. :silly: My husband and I are picking up our son on Saturday. I'll be an embarrassment to the men in my family as I Sioux-watch.

  3. I'm having a hard time with my selection, but I think I will go with Trupp.

And if I make it through Saturday's round, I will pick Oshie for Sunday (we'll be at our state hockey tournament this weekend, away from a computer). Go Sioux!

  4. My family and I will be there Friday night, section 1 row 5. We got rooms at a Hampton Inn, about 3 miles from Magness. It will be my husband's first Fighting Sioux experience -- can't wait to share the fun with him!

  5. WAHOO! Joe's a great guy-and a dang good hockey player to boot. He coached my son in camp last summer and made quite an impression. When we were in GF in October for a game (happened to be a game he wasn't playing in) we actually bumped into him in the hallway and he remembered my son and his friend and stood and chatted with us like we were long lost friends. I love that about these guys-they treat their fans very well. :D

  6. I'm chiming in her to add to the clapping. I am sick to death of the age old "it's the defense's fault we are losing" excuse. So Finley makes some mistakes. So do other players. Why aren't we scoring more? Can't blame that on Joe, can you?

Seems to me hockey is a team sport-win as a team, lose as a team, but it takes everyone on the ice contributing 150% and from what I've seen, we don't have that this year.

  7. Watched the game on TV last night. There was very little crowd noise to be heard. My favorite shot of the night was when the camera panned to a man, probably 40-45 years old, and he was sitting there yawning.
