  1. Has anyone heard if UND is recruiting Jake Miller from Bismarck? If so I would assume that it would be as a WR or position other than RB.

Just heard over the weekend that he is seriously looking at UND and depending on what our offer is will likely play for the Sioux. Great young man.

  2. I think the deal with everyone getting the non-Sioux game is that is the game that Midco themselves are producing.

Latest from Midco regarding the game being televised on the Bismarck-Mandan system is that "the Southland conference is producing the game and failed to include Bis-Man on their list of systems that could cover the game." I told the CSR that I think someone at Midco dropped the ball and failed to include Bis-Man on the list of systems. They claim they can't show the game unless the Southland conference answers their calls and emails and adds Bis-Man to the coverage list.

  3. That is BS; midco just has to point at the correct satellite and dial in the correct transponder. It will be beamed down from satellite, it's just a matter of the cable co's choosing to receive it. The FSSN is FTA.

What can we do to get it on more ND systems?

  4. You have got to be kidding me. How and why would this happen? Do they know Bismarck is in the center of North Dakota? Someone please explain this to me, I'm all ears. :D

Probably won't do any good but does anyone have the number for FSSN? I talked to Midco and they said it is up to FSSN as to who they televise on which system.

Another function that you may be interested in: the CanadInn has remodeled the Playmakers Lounge, which is now the All-American Lounge. It is entirely decorated in Sioux memorabilia. On Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 they will be hosting a special event in honor of their remodel with Kleinsasser, Kuper, Mustard and Dressler on hand to sign autographs. Should be fun.

  6. To clarify, the records I was talking about are football records. :)

While Ryan is good athlete, he has a ways to go to legitimately be compared with Mr. Dressler. Not in the same category.

  7. So I am a little confused here. I have heard that Josh Murray is academically ineligible for this season. Is this true or not?

I am not certain but I believe he is ineligible for this semester, which includes spring ball, but will be eligible this coming season if he handles his classroom responsibilites.

  8. You are probably correct that he was asking about Chappel. I may be wrong (I hope that I am ) but it is my understanding that he will not return.

I think the chances of him returning are somewhere between slim and none.

  9. Hey MPSBison, Two questions. Do you have anything like a JOB? You seem to have time 24 7 to post here. And secondly, what is your infatuation with telling us here at UND Sports how to run things?

I have heard you got banned at the NDSU site and all I can say is "Three cheers for NDSU".

Suddenly he has nothing to say!!

  10. Per areavoices Gene is keeping the Sept 12th game in case he gets the game he really wants and then can shuffle the scheudle.

So there must be a team on a different date that he is trying to get to Fargo.

    AKA avoiding playing UND.

  11. Ok, I think this horse has been beaten to death. We all know there is nobody to blame but Ryan himself. I think we can stop beating the kid up on a fan message board. Taking shots at physical talent and physical ability is one thing, and publicly reprimanding on this topic is another. I am sure he already feels horrible about this. Not to mention I am sure his family isn't particularly happy with all that has transpired. Sometimes I think a lot of us (myself included), forget the possibilities about who reads our posts.

The real litmus test in all of this is how Ryan responds to this. First and foremost, does he buckle down and try to make this better so that he can eventually graduate with a college degree and play his senior year of football? Or does he kick the dirt and pick up his things and go home? This is the true test for Ryan at this juncture. I hope this lesson learned in the next two years catapults him to better life down the road, no matter what he does in the future.

Good luck, Ryan. We know you will rebound.

Good post. GENERAL STATEMENT: Please keep in mind that Ryan is part of the Fighting Sioux family. While we can all be disappointed, now is the time to be supportive to him and his family. We can speculate all day as to why he wasn't getting it done in the classroom but in the end it doesn't matter much what we all think. What is important, is that Ryan needs to make the decision, with help from others, to pick himself up and get back on track. Maybe that will include football, maybe not. My hope is that he is able to get a degree and learn from all of this. He is not a bad person, he is just going through some things that unfortunatly has put him in the public eye. Our role models sometimes are human.

  12. The one thing that gets me a little irritated it that this is end of his 3rd year at und and not his 1st year. Usually, most people by the end of their 3rd year know what they need to do to stay eligible for what ever activity they have to be eligible for. So what I am saying is that this is completely unacceptable and should have never happened.

I will make an assumption (which I generally do not like to do) from your post. Apparently you have been able to find the balance of attending class and having a social life (I hope you are doing well in your studies). What you describe is that you see players out socially but not attending class. Unless they are sharing their grades with you, you do not KNOW how they are doing academically. I happen to know there are more than a few players that are doing very well in school and do go out socially...the point is that each young man or woman needs to take it upon themselves to find balance. As far as tests and quizzes being taken online...are you implying that athletes are able to do this and other students aren't? If it is the policy of the class for the students to take tests and quizzes in this manner than I don't see the issue.

  13. I'm starting to think all of our athletes in general need to take a step back from the social life and concentrate a little more on school and staying out of trouble, whether it be academically or criminally.

I'm getting a little tired of hearing about all of our players not being able to play.

I wish people would stop with the gross over generalizations!! I agree with the other post - you have two athletes that we have had to read about lately. Both situations unfortunately fall back on character or lack thereof. I'm told he is lost for this year and the hope is that he would be back for his Senior season. He was a lot of fun to watch but does not deserve to wear the uniform if he can't perform in the classroom!

  14. If he wants to stay in the state of ND and play at the top level of NCAA playoff football, maybe he should consider a transfer to NDSU?

IF you are serious, keep in mind that he has two years of eligibility remaining and would have to sit out a year if he transfers to a school in the same division. He could go DII or lower and still play two years.

A GENERAL STATEMENT: It is obvious that Bobby has some issues...please keep in mind that he is more than likely going through a very tough time right now so please keep this in mind when commenting about this young man. I just hope that he can find his way in life with or without football.

  15. Fargo is not but West Fargo is so if you know anyone in West Fargo you should be able to watch it.

That is my question...does anyone know of any pub that is showing the game? I am from Bismarck and am not familiar with all of the places to go in WF. Any suggestions?

  16. You'll have to find a pub in a surrounding Midco town like Harwood, Mapleton, Casselton, or Horace. Parts of West Fargo have gone Midco just recently also. You'll have to do some legwork but it's possible.

Can anyone help me find a place in West Fargo that would be showing the game? We would really appreciate it.

  17. Those who are subscribers of Midcontinent will be able to watch the UND//USD game on the Midcontinent channel 23(Which is also used as the FSSN channel in most cases). Just a heads up to those who are(like me) that are Midcontinent subscribers.

Can anyone give me info. on what channel it would be on in Fargo? We are going to be in town for the State High School Football Championships on Sat. and would love to watch the game if it is going to be on in Fargo. Thanks.

  18. I briefly checked ticketmaster yesterday and today, and there are at least three sections where I could buy twenty seats together for the game Sat. Not the nosebleeds either. Yesterday row G and today row N on the 10yd line. There's only one full day left. Is the hockey game hurting ticket sales that badly, or can we expect a big game day walk up?

Last night I was at the Dickinson vs. Bismarck football game and spoke to a number of people who were planning to drive up to the game. I hope that is the case for many more. I also talked to a few people that were not going up due to the pheasant opener. I think someone needs to consider having a pheasant farm near GF so that we can put together a "Football & Pheasants" excursion for our hunting friends!

  19. There really is no excuse for the Alerus Center not to be sold out for this game. The top regional ranking is on the line. Playoff positioning is on the line. The NCC Championship is probably on the line as well. I don't care if it's the hunting opener or if it's on TV.....

GET YOUR BUTTS TO THE ALERUS CENTER AND CHEER AS LOUD AS YOU CAN!!!

    Thank you. ???

I couldn't agree more. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE MAKE A COMMITMENT TO GO TO THIS GAME. They need everyone at the game and to be loud and proud. The implications for a home game against GVSU is huge. See you at the game. GO SIOUX!!!

  20. Oh ok, well then I guess Bodoh's not with the team seeing as he was in class today....

I think the team leaves tomorrow. I believe they are in meetings and practice at 2:30. I believe Bodoh is making the trip.
