  1. Second, Sedevie is an entire subthread on a thread already.  Quite possibly this one.  Sedevie's neck injury wasn't the only one.  I heard that Sedevie turned the scholarship down upon the advice of his parents and his doctor.  I don't rule out Sedevie altogether.  He may walk on in 2004, you never know.  All in all, after this neck injury, an injury that many said would end his career, I think his decision was prudent and wise.  He recently got traded to the Lincoln Stars so we'll be sure the see what happens with him.

Let me get this straight.....He turned down UND because of his neck injury, BUT it is OK to play in Lincoln???

Use your head buddy...It's not happening. He was let go by UND and if you had run into him, his girlfriend, or his parents during that first month after being dropped (April), you would have known it was not his decision. He was MAD. Very bitter.

New rumor is that he may show up in the WCHA, (that school up north on the water), D#\#th OR maybe in the CHA for the Green and White Beavers.

Just speculation now, but I feel we will hear very soon.

  2. Obviously not every player is approached the same way. But I don't know many parents who have a son recruited that think it is only for one year.

Recruiting battles can be lost on relatively minor factors. If a recruit feels a coach isn't as committed to him as other coaches are..... well, you figure out what the results are likely to be

    .

I think you are way off base here. Speaking from experience, the player is definately told from the beginning that his scholarship is renewed each year and the % could change depending on their preformance, on and off the ice. It's no surprise to them. Each year at evaluation they discuss their goals and what is expected of them for the next year. Once again no surprised from the BIG GUY.

If a player feels he is not up to speed and will not receive the desired ice time, he is free to leave. I believe it is NCAA rules that a player has to sit out a year after a transfer. It has nothing to do with the coach. I could be wrong.

  3. Saw Sedevie at the high school games Thursday, Friday Sat. and at the UND games Sat and Sunday. Ask how the rehabing was going and he said he was taking some time off and had been in GF for over a week visiting his girlfriend.

OK. I'm confused. If he is supposed to be trying to get better, shouldn't he have been rehabing and not cohabitating? He did the same thing last year with the knee. I am sure CB hears about this and that is another reason he is looking for another goalie. CB wants a COMMITMENT from all his players, present and future.

How serious is Sedevie about hockey and UND?

    Just a thought.

  4. I talked to Layne and his girlfriend at the Sioux Falls Stampede game on Thursday night and he seemed like he was doing pretty good. If he can go to a hockey game 2 days after the accident, I think he will be back as soon as he wants to!!

  5. While with the wife this AM. I caught James Massen on the Sports show on KFYR out of Bismarck. The guy is good on his feet. He really had the announcers going. He really sounded professional. Said the team really needed the week off and that they are really looking forward to the series with CC. Said he passed up ice fishing for the Chesney concert.

The show is on every Saturday morning 9-11 and they always have someone from the Sioux on it. You can hear it in GF, too. Hey Sioux lets go kick some Colo. butts.

They also mentioned that the games will be on Midcontinent. Anyone confirm this?

  6. I was really happy for Notermann, he deserves all of this. He is a real hard worker.

Massen will continue to rise. He goes out and does his job every night. He is not flashy. I am looking forward to the Spiewak, Massen, Parise line. Not of them are selfish players. They all will pass the puck.

    Should be a great series.
