Our Pee Wee son will be playing in a tournament in Moorhead next weekend and the squirt schedule allows our whole family to attend my son's games there. We have 4 tickets for the Saturday night Sioux/Gopher game at REA, 7:00 PM. Section 314A, Row G, seats 3,4,5,6, $100 for the set of four.

Since the "Greico Gone?" thread has gone haywire I thought I'd start a new thread on how AG's leaving will affect the chances of us getting Michael Lee in '09. With Greico now out of the equation will this improve the chances of Lee joining the Sioux?
Does anyone with Roseau connections have an idea how interested he is in UND? I believe he's made at least one unofficial visit.
Michael is very interested in the Sioux, he has dreamed of wearing a Sioux Jersey since he was 5. However, among the Sioux he has also visited CC, St. Cloud, and the Goophers and is going back for a 2nd visit with the Goophers. He is a junior this year.

Interesting stat -- Michigan leads the nation with 14 shorthanded goals!
True, they take chances on their PK but their PK% and PP% are not that good. The Sioux will have the advantage on special teams IMO.

I had a lot of fun at the BWW in north Fargo last year when UND beat Wisconsin. I'd suggest meeting up there again even though it's a long way for me to drive.
I usually hit BWW on the South Side for UND games. Has anyone been to Playmakers for a Sioux game? They are advertising some specials for Friday's game and I am considering going there.

Riley Leaning?
The rumor mill churns on...Out west there is chatter that Riley Nash has eliminated North Dakota from his list. Shortly after this rumor began circulating, the Sioux picked up a commitment from Matt Frattin, the top goal scorer in the Alberta JHL. Frattin could defer until 2008, so that may simply be a coincidence. If not a coincidence, it would leave two: Cornell and Denver remaining on Riley's list. Riley ostensibly enjoyed his Denver trip and, when compared to North Dakota, the balance had appeared to tip toward the Rockies. Recently, however, rumors east and west have Riley looking toward the glorious hill above Cayuga's waters...if the financial aid package suffices.
Of course, the rumor that Riley may still head off to major junior hasn't gone away yet.
So, remain ever faithful, and keep your fingers crossed for Riley leaning Red.

Yea Stafford was good against teams like Mankato or other perenially brutal teams. I mean seriously he was a no show against the top teams last year.
Zajac was the real deal, no surprise he is fitting in with the big boys.
I would take Vande velde over Spirko any day of the week and twice on sunday. Put Vande with the players Rasteslav played with and i think you'd see some fire works.

i know im not the only person who thinks this...quit complaining. they always have a rocky first half, then peak later. get used to it...its the best way to win the championships. every year a huge over-blown discussion by a few losers starts on how we should fire hakstol, and that the team sucks. cry about it. by the way, this is directed at a minority(i think) on this board and off it as well.
Edit: i forgot to make sure that people know that i realize that many are joking about this, but the few that are serious is what gets me.
So there is nothing to complain about?

Edit: also if your a fan of the team, dont bash them...i hate that when people bash their own team. be optomistic.
Criticizing obvious poor play and coaching is not necessarily team bashing. Right now this team deserves to be criticized from top to bottom. What I hate
is all the Homers on this board that jump on you if you dare say anything that might be deemed negative. You can still be a fan of the team and get on them when they are not playing up to their ability, which they are not right now. -
This series was down right embarrassing!!
This team is not very good right now. In fact they haven't played that well all year with the exception of a couple of games. The only really good team we faced(Maine) totally dominated us on our own ice. This team is going nowhere if they don't get their s@#%together. I feel most of the blame falls on Hak, the offense is anemic and the defense has been very sloppy at best.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of that huge hockey fight between the Sioux and Badgers in Wisconsin from the early '80s. I think it was in '82 but I am not sure.
