  1. I just finished reading the list of hidden injuries this team was playing through and it begs the question:

How many happened because of lack of enforcement (by league officials) of the points of emphasis?

Yeah it sucks to be banged up come playoff time but I don't think that two separated shoulders and a broken foot are the result of the WCHA refs not calling obstruction/holding all season.

  2. I agree 100%. I believe in everyone earning their keep. I'm with you in that I don't understand not having a goalie coach. Anybody?

For some reason I want to say that it's because the NCAA only allows you to have three coaches on the payroll, most of the time teams go with a head coach and two assistants. Therefore goalie coaches are usually on a volunteer basis. I could be completely wrong however.

  3. Hopefully it's your computer! What happened to the win out and have these great odds at a #1 seed?!? :( I know we tied yesterday, but that shouldn't drop our odds terribly.

I know little to nothing of how the PWR works but I'm guessing that the recent rough stretch WI has been on recently hasn't helped those predictions either. I still have to believe that if we win one vs. WI and make it to the final five that we'd be in the NCAA's...but like I said at the start of this post.....

  4. DU and C.C. good point. The WCHA will still survive. We have UMN, UW, OSU, MICHIGAN, MSU who is the 6th big ten team?

ND is an indy and said doesn't want to join the Big Ten in other sports. Or do the big ten teams form a super hockey conference with some other teams?

Apparently Penn State is funding a study to see the feasibility of building a hockey arena. Still a long ways out but that would make 6.

  5. Does anyone know if this game will be on the Charter TV channel in the Twin Cities similar to the UMD games?

I've heard that people who have comcast will be getting the game but I'm not sure what channel or if it's the Charter TV you're thinking of. Not sure if that helps or not but I thought I'd share what I have heard.

  6. Correct me if I'm wrong, but #14 in the PairWise gets you into the big dance? The two autobids given out annually to Lakeland Dental Academy and Bozos Clown College typically account for the #15 and #16 seeds. (unless of course it's Holy Cross, then you really need to play the game)

There is always a chance of a team winning a conference tourney that wouldn't otherwise get in. For example, Michican Tech winning the Final Five. This would add another auto bid to the mix and therefore only the top 13 teams in the pairwise would make it.

  7. I think we need to cut Gwoz some slack here. It is clearly obvious when you watch the video that he was choking on something as he placed his hands around his throat twice (I believe in frames 223-225 you can clearly see Hextall's stick contacting Gwoz's throat causing his head to snap back and to the left :silly: ). The lack of oxygen to his brain from this made him unable to find his way to the dressing room and hence he crossed the ice looking for some help. If he can't even find the dressing room without assistance how can we expect him to remember the NCAA rules ? This is NOT George's fault, it has to be the fault of UND !

I agree with most of your argument but he should be used to low oxygen levels levels considering he deals with the altitude in Denver everyday. Overall still UND's fault though.

  8. Haven't seen anyone mention this yet but Gwoz is claiming that he was just walking to the locker room and that's the reason he went onto the ice....nice try Gwoz I'm not buying that one bit. The article also mentions that Hextall was grabbed by someone on the bench and that's the call Gwoz was initially complaining about. I watched the FSN telecast and they didn't say what the initial unsportsmanlike conduct call was for, anybody see what happened to Hextall? Denver Post Article

  9. Yea I said that....

Well if we're playing that game...I believe I said it first. jk though, just trying to help someone out who didn't get a chance to see the game. You may want to check if dishnetwork gets Fox College Sports Central though because I'm not sure if they do or not.

  10. I was out watching the Sundogs game (A. Schneekloth 2 assists for the Eagles) and tried to record my FSSN satellite feed while I was gone. Unfornately I screwed up and didn't get the game recorded. Does anyone know if the game will be repeated on any of the Dishnetwork Fox sport channels? I don't have the the sports package on my DishNetwork subscription, but will add it if I can get see the game. Thanks.

I have comcast and Fox College Sports Central is reshowing it at the top of the hour (i.e. 15 mins from now) where I live. Not sure if that helps but you could always check tvguide.com and check what dishnetwork will be showing.

  11. Unfortunately, the only ticket available right now is the full four-day pass to the festival. $180.

I don't know, though, if they will eventually add a two- or one-day pass, though.

From what I've heard they'll be selling day passes only if the four day passes don't sell out first. In the past years you've always been able to get the one day passes closer to the shows. This year may be a different story however based on the acts they've landed

  12. David Hale, mainly because I'd have to come up with a new screen name if I didn't vote for him. Kidding aside, I voted for Panzer because while it's been nice to see a little bit of scoring the past few weeks out of this years team having Panzer would defiantly help that to keep going.

  13. I looked at it again from the FSN feed, and it's tough to tell, Trupp checks Lucia into the near boards first, but then the play goes to the other end of the ice, and the cameras are off the two of them. But if I had to guess, Trupp was almost acting as if he caught a shot to the jewels...but who knows, you need the opposite camera angle to really tell...maybe it will come out in the news.

That's the exact same impression I got from watching it live...shot to the jewels. I have to believe that something dirty happened because I know that Jones can snap from time to time but I don't see him doing it for no reason. I also don't see him dropping the gloves and taking off his helmet if he hadn't had words with Lucia before hand (i.e. "We gonna go or what?"). Who knows though, pure speculation on my part.

  14. Real fans listen to TH.

Hahaha I agree! I've listened to every game this year so far via the free radio webcast except for the CC series which I attended. I decided to spluge this weekend and add the sports pack to my cable so I could watch these games. I sorta payed for my actions because I spent the first period of tonights game in my own personal hell because the bouncy ball game on FCS Pacific went into triple overtime and cut into the Sioux game. Luckily it ended right as the 2nd was starting and I enjoyed what I saw from that point forward! Man it sucks to be out of GF sometimes.

  15. I know I'm biased, but I swear the real difference is that when the Sioux want to get even, at least they're men about it and challenge the scum to a fair fight (ala Jonsey) without hiding behind cages and when Minnesota wants to get even, it's cheapshotting defenseless players (ala Stoa and that reprehensible mouth breather Demarchi).

I think it all boils down to the fact that it takes two types of carpenters to build a house and the framers (Sioux) happen to handle things differently than the finishers (goofs). But always remember that you can't hit what you can't catch. Sorry to those of you who didn't watch the FSNorth pregame on Friday night because I'm sure you have no idea what I'm talking about...just enjoy the fact that I'm ripping on The Rug.

  16. well wheeler said a couple things to finley during that which got finely ready to kick his azz. not gona say what he said but it wasnt smart. guk the fophers. they got their azzes whooped tonight and deserved it.not just on scoreboard but all over the friken ice

I agree totally but I just posted to the original comment in hopes that we would celebrate a good win instead of complaining about relativley petty stuff. With that said I'm done with this topic, lets get another one tomorrow.

  17. There's more to the story, which I'm not going to post here, but Finley had every right to pull him out with what Wheeler said. Any one of you with half a brain would have done the same thing if you were in Finley's skates either. But, those that don't know stories always have the loudest reactions.

I did say that I think Wheeler had it coming.....sorry but it still comes off as bush league. Hextall may have had it coming tonight too.

  18. Finley pulling Wheeler out of the handshake line last year? That bush league if you ask me and this is coming from someone who thinks Wheeler had it coming. I'm just trying to say that we sholuldn't get too worked up about what Stoa did because I know we're guilty of bush league !@$! in the past.

  19. Not sure if this is posted somewhere else but according to the ticker on the weather channel here in fargo (channel 29 on cable one) the sioux/michigan game will be on channel 44 for those who have cable one.
