  1. Could UND revoke the photographers media credentials?

It makes me mad that schools like SCSU to do crap like this and we do nothing. I suppose I can appreciate the fact that we are taking the high road and they are the ones being disrespectful.

I am positive that the photographer has nothing to do with this. It is the office of the SID that maintains the website.

  2. So I was looking for a box score, and the UND website didn't seem to have one up... so I thought I would check out the SCSU website. I open the article about the game (no box score) and I notice the picture that they have up... Something is wrong with Greico's jersey... LOL! Leave it to St Cloud! Don't they have anything better to care about???

    SCSU article

You know, I nener noticed that we did that...thats hilarious

  3. Many of what we now call the Flagship campuses were established in the extraordinary period of university building that took place in the United States in the roughly three decades from the mid-1850s to the mid-1880s. Many came into being after the Morrill Act of 1863 provided the federal grants of land to the states to establish public universities. Some states built two institutions, a land-grant college focused on agriculture and the "mechanical arts" as well as general education, and another more directed at classical education and the other professions.

Ahhh...so that's what a land grant college is. That term has been thrown around allot, and I thought it had something to do with prestiege. It just refers to a different mission than a "non-land grant" college.

Now the term "flagship university" sounds to me like a more subjective term. As an outsider looking at the Dakotas, I would think that UND, USD, SDSU, and NDSU are all "flagship" universities...I guess it all depends where you have your allegiance.

  4. On Bisonville a poster mentioned that SCSU has applied to the NSIC!

If Duluth and Mankato follow suit and UNO goes to the MIAA, what happens to the NCC?

Augi has an easy decision (join the NSIC).

    But what will USD do?

I say the webcast and SCSU has only inquired about the NSIC...they have not received any official paperwork or notice.

  5. I don't know what to say or what SCSU will do. I know the vast majority want to stay in DII but the higher ups said straight out that we will do whatever UND does. I don't know where the funding will come from, but there must be things happening behind the scenes...whether we go DI, merge with the NSIC, create a new DII conference, or raid the NSIC and lower the football scholarship numbers.

It is an exciting and interesting time for UND and I wish you all the best! As for the future fo SCSU...I have no idea ???

  6. I'd say there's no question Minnesota's football team is more popular than it's hockey. I didn't have much to say about the recent basketball vs hockey debate because both have similarly sized fan bases in Minnesota, but football blows both out of the water.

Big Ten football is the biggest sport at every Big Ten school, nothing else comes close. Even the traditionally subpar Gophers draw about 50,000 a game. That a bad football team can so outdraw good hockey and basketball teams is further evidence of how football is in an entirely different league, IMHO.

There is no question that in Minnesota UM football and basketball have a much larger following than hockey. The majority of schools in Minnesota do not even have a hockey team. While I really like hockey, I feel that the "hardcore" hocky fan lives in somewhat of a box and does not see the large picture. They live and die hockey. Just look at TV ratings and the fact that the UM did not even sell all of their tickets for the Frozen Four when they played out in Albany, NY.

  7. If it was a printer error, it's very likely they'd either do the make-up one for free or at a greatly reduced price.

There is no way in heck that it was the fault of the printer. The proof had to be approved by the WHCA and possibly the sponsors...not the printer or the Xcel. Now if it was an "inside job" by somebody who worked for the printer, that is a different story.

  8. doug spenser's email states, "that our title sponsor - Red Baron - had

nothing to do with the printing of the poster."

the actual company that did the printing has NO LIABILITY for printing NDSU instead of UND on the poster. spenser's comment was slick in protecting the sponsor and wcha, then pushing the responsibility on to the printer.

As somebody who does a good number of ads every month, I will promise you that somebody had to approve the proof of the poster. it was the wcha or red barron...possibly both. if my company was going to put money an ad, i would have my advertising department checking the proof. if it was just the wcha approving the proof, i would find it funny that the league "forgot" the name of one of their most successful programs

  9. Ballocks!! GVSU is probably now the Odds-makers favorate to win it all now, with UND and Washburn both out.

I'll be in Arkansas, How much trouble do you guys think I would be in if I go to one of St. Cloud's games and hold up a "Jan Brady State" Sign?? :)

I dont' think anybody would get it...including our fans. U of M fans call us JBSU in DI hockey...it is fitting when they say it. Basketball fans would not get it if one of our peers was holding a sign like that.

  10. I watched some clips from the GF news on the web, and Coach Ulferts had some very nice things to say about the UND program. Everybody associated with SCSU respects the women's program at UND.

Do you think SCSU has a shot?
