  1. I would agree, there were alot of good goaltenders this year. But the two goalies that stood out in my mind were Sean Deichert of Fargo South and Michael Hillman of Bismarck high. Deichert for his constant good play which can obviously be seen when looking at his statistics and Hillman for his great performances throughout the year( although i only saw his game at Fargo South and 2 of 3 games at state) and his also above par stats. Rosendahl was also up there as i watched him play 5 or 6 times as well as less mentioned Justin Welk. I beleive Tony Kringstad was "alright" throughout the year with a couple of good if not great games but i do not approve of his antics, regardless he still played very well throughout the year . The only difference between the top two goalies in the state this year is that Deichert played on a great team and Hillman did not . But i beleive that if Deichert were to play for a team like BHS he would also have some memorable games where if Hillman played for FSH he probably would have had much better statistics. I think that at the state tournament everything was as it should have been except for the Minot Central game.I am happy with the fact the South won it all and were very deserving of its title victory. Although i think Central would have had a better shot if Shane were in net against South in the semis. Either way a great year for high school hockey! and an Even Better year for Fargo Hockey!!!

    GO BRUINS!!

What antics are you talking about regarding Kringstad? send me a message.

  2. That's a whole lot of talk. Well he's got about 3 months to make that decision. In my opinion... High School should be fun and you should enjoy all the time you have with your friends. Some kids are letting their heads get bigger than hot air balloons. Transferring from one school to the next because they believe they are going to be the next big thing, or the school they are at is not good enough for them. I have heard of kids transferring more than one time! That's ridiculous. Individual talent relies largely on that off the work ethic of the individual during OFF ICE workouts. I just don't see the logic in moving 200 miles to work out in a different gym unless you truely are a special talent and have something very significant to gain by having a new coach. Maybe these kids want to learn better defensive zone coverage, I'm not sure.

Do any of you know why campbell wasn't playing?

  3. This could be an extremely long week for team ND as this doesn't appear to be one of the stronger squads we've sent to represent our fine state... 3 D from centrals salty squad??? I hope the team proves me wrong and takes it home.

Grafton-PR has a few guys on the team, should be interesting!

  4. I really didn't care who won either game, but Red River's OT winner wasn't a goal. Argue with me all you want, but the guy was in the crease on top of the goaltender, and it didn't seem like the Grafton guy hit the RR guy that hard at all. Ohh well, Red River is the better team, and probably still would have won the game.

Still though, what a game!! :D

I agree with you. I was at the game, had a perfect view of Kringstad of GPR and it was clear that the opposing RR guy was in the crease. Talked to a few game officials and they agreed. Even Coach Haugland argued it. Oh well, BY THE WAY...Red River students need to control theirselves. They are way too offensive. I saw that last night as they were screaming at Kringstad. Please, game administration, do something!

  5. Did they win the games they needed to in order to get into the tourney? Apparently they did because the last time I checked they beat Minot.

Ramberg has a goal and an assist in the game so far. Talked with G-PR hockey players, on a different note, and they say that it'll be a good game against Williston.

  6. Central over Minot 4-2

    Here they come squeakin' in...

We're just about 15-20 minutes from the start of the second game of the afternoon. It'll be Devils Lake vs. Fargo South. Here are the starting lineups:

    Devils Lake:

    G- So. Danny Groves

    D- So. Casey Rearden

    D- Sr. Kenny Lybeck

    F- Jr. Justin McCarthy

    F- So. Jorey Heit

    F- Sr. Peter Jerome

    South:

    G- Jr. Sean Diechert

    D- Sr. Alan Spriggs

    D- Jr. Erick Galt

    F- So. Ian Powers

    F- Sr. Grant Larson

    F- Sr. Paul Weisgarber

  7. Well, I'd take Haugenoe, but let's look at the stats. Both have 92% save percentage. Haugenoe has 1.53 gaa, Hillman's is 2.06. Records: Hillman's is 9-8. Haugenoe is 10-4-1. You might try to say Haugenoe played on a better team, but I don't think so. I think those two teams are dead even. They played twice and each won on the road 3-1, I believe. Williston did have a better overall West season, and I think it was because, in great part, Haugenoe played better in important games than Hillman.

It may be too strong to say Hillman is worse than Haugenoe, but it's also too strong to say he's better. Stats just don't back it up. They're both good, and they'll both need to stand on their heads to win on Thursday, or just to keep their games close.

If they both lose, we can settle this on Friday, head to head!

    Who's the Mr. Hockey Finalists?

  8. Anyone know when (and who) GPr will play on Thursday??

Or does it depend on the outcome of the Central-North game for seeding?

sounds like Grafton-PR will play Williston on Thursday in the first round of the State High School Hockey tournament as they are the #3 seed out of the East Region (there was no placing, so it's the higher seed).
