  1. I just had ACL reconstruction after tearing my ACL, MCL and Meniscus. What I gathered from my ortho doc is that the MCL (provided it's not completely severed) can usually heal itself through an aggressive rehab program and no surgery. Hopefully that is the extent of Chorney's injury. It looked brutal. I wish him the best of luck in his recovery and rehab!

that is true, i had torn my mcl in high school and it healed on its own.

    ...that is, in 3 months

  2. Let's hope from a Sioux perspective that Wheeler signs. We do not need to see him another year in the maroon and gold. In the case of Turris....he obviouly had no loyalty to college hockey....even Parise and Toews stayed two years. Good riddance Turris

i spoke to blakes dad when he was up here for the series in grand forks. and from the way it sounded he wont be back for another year..

something along the lines of, "thought id make it up here one last time" or something of that nature.

  3. I don't know why it has to be a "us vs them" mentality. I love what the students bring to the game. I love their energy, their enthusiam and I love it when they get really rowdy. In fact, one of the reasons I go to the games (besides to watch awesome hockey) is to get rowdy and forget that I am an adult for a few hours. I have been "reminded" many times by the rent-a-cops that it is not appropriate to climb the glass and try to strangle an official.

I appreciate Sioux_Yeah_Yeah's frustration - I often feel it as well regarding some of the people that sit in the seats around me. I want everyone in the building up on their feet screaming from the drop of the puck until the final buzzer. The only statement that I took issue with was "I am probably the biggest Sioux fan ever", because that statement is just plain wrong.

(by the way, in my opinion, Ralph was the biggest Sioux fan ever)

i agree, i dont know either, but i dubbed it that because its always the students pissing off season ticket holder or vice versa. oh well.

  4. here we go again..

season ticket holders(who dont do much more than clap at games) vs. und students.

i think ill sit out on this one and watch.

one thing though. who the hell cares if someone uses the CAPS button for certain words. bitching about how someone types a few words makes you just as silly as the next person to express their opinion on here...

  5. I wouldn't doubt if oshie packs his bags and bails. He name is marked in this town and why screw anything else up for a future career. Hold our breath for the next couple days!

im hoping he has more character than that okposo guy

  6. I am 22 and haven't ever gotten in trouble with the law either... I have still made mistakes in my life and just because he plays for us doesn't mean that he should get a worse punishment for making a mistake which 99.9% of people will do in their college career. I am sure that TJ feels bad about what happened and he realizes that he made a mistake....two mistakes in 11 months is bad, but so getting caught drinking and driving twice in six months when you aren't even 18 like a girl who I went to high school with.

Im not sure how he is getting a worse punishment than a normal joe would??? He was on probation from a previous arrest, and now hes arrested again. the reason its a big deal is because hes looked up to by so many, and in such high regards in grand forks. thats the price you pay for being in the spot light. it can be great and it can suck if you screw up. so deal with it.

  7. the point was that disorderly conduct could be any number of things with some of them not being bad at all. He doesn't need to sign with the Blues or do anything except accept his punishment and apologize. He is 21 and made a mistake...big deal. Yes, being 21 makes him a man,but how many of you can say that you NEVER made a mistake in college?

im 21 years old and ive never gotten in any trouble whatsoever with the law. the point is, if you act responsibly, things like this wont happen PLAIN AND SIMPLE. yeah there have been times ive been so drunk i didnt know exactly what i was doing, but i at least had the common sense to do that behind closed doors. you have to be responsible in how you act to avoid altercations with anyone, including police. that includes...not getting in fights, not pissing in public, and not doing other stupid acts to draw attention to you in public. the only reason im being so harsh is because hes been in trouble for drinking at a bar when hes not 21 and the whole fricken town of grand forks knows who he is and how old he is. thats real smart, cmon.

  8. He seemed to be playing hurt, but I hadn't heard anything about it. Any idea what the injury was?

On to the topic of the thread - Oshie's a good kid and I haven't seen any "star" attitude from him. My 9 year old nephew's hockey team often practices after the sioux and Osh is always great with those little guys. He makes them all feel like they are friends with him, which is such a blast for them (all the guys are great, but Osh and Vande seem to make special efforts)

That said, he needs to work a little harder at keeping his nose clean. This is his 2nd arrest in less than a year and part of growing up is learning from your mistakes. Apparently the first time didn't make as deep as impression as most of us would have liked to see. I fully support Hak in suspending him. As much as I don't want the Sioux to have to play a night without him, its important to set the bar high.

I realize that these guys are primarily kids (I did more than my share of STUPID things in college), and are technically "only hockey players", but like it or not they are role models, that is the nature of the beast in Grand Forks. These guys do have a responsibility to themselves, the team and the community to behave in appropriate and legal ways. If I have any question about that, all I have to do is look at my 9 year old nephew while I'm trying to explain to him why Osh got arrested AGAIN.

his injury was discussed a while back but since it should be about healed ill go ahead and say it if no one else has yet. what happened was he got checked with a stick right in the hip and had a really bad bruise.

  9. Kickstart? You do realize he has been playing with an injury don't you?

i fully realize that. but hes played over half the games this season healthy. he also played half the season last year hurt, and he was still providing assists. my point is, is that hak needs to do something out of the ordinary or something to fire this squad up and keep them motivated. i dont think anyone would argue with that.

  10. I wonder if Hak takes his letter away?

i believe he should. regardless if greene didnt lose his a few years back. we need something to kick start this team/him. get rid of his letter and hold it until he earns it back, not giving it to anyone else.

  11. College students don't get away with the same stuff we used to get away with; if you're a high profile athlete you should know that and avoid it. Not throwing the team under the bus, just disappointed that a Captain would not stay away from this.

exactly. give the letter to someone else, and maybe light his fire a little bit.
