  1. Hey all, just an FYI that tsn.ca is streaming the WJC games live this year. Not sure of the schedule or how much team USA will be shown, but you might be able to catch some games there Just a friendly Oiler fan dropping in to see what you all think of Chorney so far this year in the other threads. Thanks for the info all! Glad to hear he's doing well. BTW - Greene scored his 1st NHL goal last night and it was a beauty. No joke Thanks so much for him, you guys did an exceptional job. He is just a beast. We love him up here Highlights of the game and his goal here. Enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-icrcNCJZhg

    Chorney

As an Oilers fan this is the first I have heard of Chorney moving. I hope it isn't true. You guys did a fabulous job on Matt Greene for us and we are expecting your kick-ass program to pump out another potential top 4 guy in Chorney in a few years for us. Go Sioux! And sorry to revive this thread, but I am looking for some opinions of Chorney now that you have seen him for a full season and the playoffs. What are his strengths and weaknesses? It looks like he has a good shot of making the WJCs again this year which is good as an Oilers fan, but as a Canadian, a top 4 of E. Johnson, J. Johnson, Lee and Chorney seems very scary. And a pre thanks for you're opinions on Taylor
  3. Wow, I don't think I was expecting Lidstrom as a comparison. That is far too much for a poor Oiler fan like me to hope for. Thanks for your responses everyone! And yes the Oilers traded for two defensemen today, but there are rumours that they are going to be moving a d-man soon for a goalie. Like Staios is going. I see our pairings like this in about a week Pronger - Bergeron Smith - Tarnstrom Spacek - Greene Ulanov So no I don't expect Greene to be sent down. He has proven he is very capable at this level. There is no reason for him to go to the AHL, he has nothing further to learn there.
  4. Hahaha, next time I am sitting down with Kevin Lowe I'll pass along your message And thanks for the early thoughts! I actually think Chorney's game could compliment Greene's quite well. Greene can take the defensive coverage and Chorney makes the up ice passes. Oh and the low penalty thing, is that due to good body position or an unwillingness to make contact? Good to hear he is getting some PP time too!
  5. Hmm I don't have any specific clips of Greene for you, I will see what I can find though http://www.edmontonoilers.com/interactive/...?var1=0&var2=10 here is the link to the Oilers highlight reel for each game this season. You may be able to see some of his bigger hits here.
  6. Hey all, Oilers fan here. I was wondering if I could get some impressions of Chorney so far this year. The last guy we drafted from your team (Greene) is doing VERY well up in the NHL for us and I was wondering if you guys think Chorney has NHL potential as well. I saw him in the WJC but I didn't get to see all the American games, so I missed a lot of his play. Your thoughts would be great, thx! BTW - we love Greene up here. You guys did an incredible job of preparing him for the NHL, he only needed 1/2 a season of AHL seasoning to make it to the bigs!! That speaks wonders for the program you guys are running. Thanks so much!
