  1. I wouldn't be surprised if we get 2 upsets tomorrow. From what I hear RR and FS were lackluster and GFC and Grafton were great. That's just what I hear...

Well, you are hearing this from a complete and utter moron. SOUTH AND RED RIVER ARE THE TWO BEST TEAMS IN THE STATE. THEY WILL BE PLAYING FOR THE STATE TITLE. They didn't play their best games Thursday, but I'm sure they weren't real worried about Bismarck or Devil's Lake. Grafton is the only team that stands a remote chance (and I mean an extremely remote chance) of winning tomorrow.

  2. Minot 4, Central 1

    South 4, Devils Lake 2

    GPR 5, Williston 1

    RR 3, Bismarck 2 (Shots 36 to 17)

    South 2, Minot 3

    RR 4, GPR 2

    RR 4, Minot 2

    Refer back to after weekend!

Boy, you might be legally retarded! Minot WILL NOT make it past the 2nd round! They will probably beat Central pretty easily, but they will lose to South by at least 5! I'm not real sure how you can say that Red River will only beat Bismarck by 1, but I can tell you one thing. No Grand Forks team will win state this year.

  3. I'm sorry about that thread about upping the attendance at the Alerus Center, it was all in good fun. I didn't mean for it to get to and NDSU/UND type of topic. I just simply wanted to state my peace and it escalated quite quickly. Good day to you all.

  4. Which gives the better home field advantage?

    Alerus Center.

    Evidence?

    UND is 35-5 (0.875) overall and 8-0 post-season.

    For comparison:

NDSU is 64-14 at Fargodome (0.821) overall and 0-0 in post-season.

Yet again, let me point out the differences in who the two teams play. Ya montebank.

  5. All "Sean Connery" needs to do is look at the recent press from NDSU's own athletic department.

If UND is so bad for not playing NDSU, if UND is so bad for playing "subpar competition" in D2, then why isn't NDSU leading by example?

I mean, Minnesota offerred to play NDSU again in football and they declined? Why? I thought they were looking for better competition! Oh wait... looks like they just lost their right to complain about this issue.

    Too bad. tsk tsk.

You ask why NDSU doesn't play Minnesota this year? Its because we are playing them next year. We have a lot of young recruits that need another year before throwing them into a game w/ the Gophers. Besides, we haven't officially declined yet. There is a chance, if both of us have an opening, we might revisit the issue. But that doesn't change the fact that we are still playing them and you guys are still playing the likes of Winona State. There is some good competition.

  6. Is this guy talking about the Alerus? I would assume he's not talking about the Alerus. The Alerus is great for football. Obviously this guy has never been to a football game there. He has no credibility.

Boy you might be legally retarded. I was in attendance of the UND homecoming game this year and "The Tuna Can" is quite possibly the worst football stadium ever built. I have more credibility in my little finger than you have in your enitre body.

  7. Ah ha! A trick question. My day has come! The way to increase your attendance is to play some good teams. Quit playing D2 patsies and/or tell Kuppy to get is poop in a group and move up to Division 1aa before the NCAA says no more moving up.

A new arena wouldn't hurt either. If I went to UND, I'd be praying for a natural disaster to take that place out. It may be the worst stadium I've ever been in.

  8. All I can say after watching the South vs RR game is WOW, that had to be the greatest HS hockey game I have ever seen. I agree 100% with QB Eagles #7. RR out hustled the Bruins the whole game, it was also I very physical game. It got a little chippy in the 3rd as Vigen and Powers both got kicked out for roughing. Some of those RR kids have to be in damn good shape. RR's Ladouceur and Galbreath were out there for a very long time in the late 3rd and in OT. What a goal by Meland in OT to give the Riders a W and give FS there first loss of the year. All I can say about Eric Meland is clutch, in everything he does. I'm very excited to see how this year turns out, I cant wait for the State Tournament. Other goals by RR were scored by Spies, Rau, and Delisle.

Now look here you logger-headed, tickel-brained, pompion. I was also in attendance of the South/Red River game and I'm going to have to disagree that RR out-hustled South the whole game. It was a game of periods. The first was pretty even. Hard-hitting (as was the whole game) and very defensive. South definately out-hustled RR in the 2nd, but RR was the top dog when it counted (the 3rd and OT.) I do agree that it was a great game, probably 3rd-best I've ever seen South play in person (#1 - 2004 v. North 4-4 tie and #2 - 2005 @ Moorhead). It will be a helluva state tourney.

  9. I concure. This is a marriage for scheduling purposes only. Much as the Great West is. It gives them something to shoot for, but what is the real result of that. No bid to the Tourney, the source of revenue to the big money. :D

We meet again. You are right and you are wrong. You are correct in the fact that the United Basketball Conference isn't really a conference. It is just a scheduling alliance to make things easier on the participating teams. You are wrong about the Great West, though. Although eventually the teams will probably get into bigger and better conferences, it is an actual, recognized conference (and one that isn't too shabby, if I do say so myself).

Oh yeah, and I garfunkled your mother.

  10. Mine would be:

    G: Eli Rosendahl-RR

    D: Jarret Galbreath-RR

    D: Brian Lee-Dickinson

    F: Marc Mihulka-RR

    F: Paul Cambell-GPR

    F: Nick Klenow-North

So far Mr. Hockey is looking like it will end up in Fargo, in the hands of Nick Klenow.

Coach of the year is Jay Erickson-Fargo North

    what does everyone else think?

Boy I think you might be legally retarded. How can you leave out the two best players in the state of North Dakota? I am referring to Paul Weisgarber (who is going to win Mr. Hockey) and Erik Galt (the best defenseman in the state). You clearly have it out against South, and rightfully so- you are clearly jealous. The time has come for a Fargo team to be all-out better than both Grand Forks teams. Perhaps you should take off your Maroon-shaded glasses and take a look at the big picture. South is the best team in the state and you need to deal with it. And by the way, Jay Erickson will not be coach of the year. I think for that award you need to have a good hockey team. Come on ya panzee, give South some credit here.
