USA Hockey 18U National Tourney in Vegas. Zellers & SSM in the semifinals today.
Zellers' number still climbing. 4 tucks 1 apple (announced 2A, but score sheet only has 1) in the quarter finals. 5 points still a pretty good game. 4th goal was a ridiculous unassisted bank shot off the goalie's knee.
He leads the Tourney in goals & points.
Season total: 52 games 53 goals 52 assists = 105 points.

Huge weekend for Zellers at Shattuck. SSM played St. Andrews College, the #1 ranked Prep team in Canada. All 32 NHL teams had a scout in the rink on Friday night. Zellers first goal was a highlight reel, stole puck from both defensemen on the forecheck & scored unassisted. Game went to overtime, Zellers was on ice for all but 1 shift of OT. He bags the GW in OT. Shattuck Instagram post: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C3Jvb3CAcum/?igsh=MTFoZHllajNlaWNhOA==
Saturday game, also goes to OT, Zellers with 2 goals & 1 assist. Against serious competition, best in Canada, 5 point weekend for Zellers. Also, over-hyped St. Andrews player Dean Letourneau (6'8" - 209 lb) 1 goal, 1 helper. Zellers clearly the best player on either team for both games. From Shattuck website, Zellers now at 45g 45a in 46 games.

I’m next to certain, that Zellers and his advisors want him to play a year in the ushl. Taking more of a slower development path. It’s worked for him so far. He’s an April birthday so a bit young for a senior. No issues with that tbh

Even though I miss the NCHC broadcast on the big screen, it is great to hear Hennessy on the radio feed. That guy is an institution.

How did you get the discounted price
Is the quality of the feed worth the $24? I've been burned by crappy feeds before. Thanks/!

What's the Grand Forks radio station on iHeart radio? I'm so used to the NCHC tv broadcast I can't remember. This sucks.

Yeah former Holy Family goalie Jared Moe committed to Minnesota a while back and I know he was someone the UND staff was following as well. I think they plan to have him come in for 19/20 and Haider would probably be a guy that would come in for 20/21 or even 21/22 as he is still a high school Sophomore.
I'm from MG & have watched him play for a couple of years. Amazing goalie. He has put up serious numbers playing in front of some talented offensive MG teams, but not very good defensively. Think about what he could do with our D recruits coming in the next 2-3 years? Gophers, Duluth & St. Cloud are on him like Edina kids on cake. One of his former teammates from MG committed to the Gophers last year, hopefully a new coach coming in & uncertainty will steer him away from Minny & north to the Sioux.

how do you improve the buffering on the broadcast with a Dell? I use a mac and can't seem to get this to play for more than 5 seconds at a time.
thanks for the help!!

Just a quick note that as a Comcast HD internet subscriber, I get ESPN3.com ... all their stuff. I rarely take them up on the Cricket broadcasts, or 2 Euro football clubs.
But it shows ALL the NCAA games this weekend.
I will definitely take them up on that. (Unless of course I head off to Green Bay.)
Did you find any of the games being broadcast on the Comcast schedule? Big screen is always better than computer.
Thanks!!

Anyone else having trouble getting the b2live site to load up? I followed the link and it just won't load, keeps cycling.

Like I said, I like our chances in the shootout. Towes, Trupp and Lammy are my choices.
-
1-0 US after 1 period.
70 - 75% of the play has been in the US zone. Seems like Kristo is out there every other shift. Must be off the Blaise sheet list.
-
Hextall not able to play. Tim said his knee twisted funny when he took one timer during power play. That's REALLY not good!!
-
I'd say our best chance is in the shootout, bounces just aren't going our way tonight.
-
Sioux getting good pressure on with 2 minutes left.
-
Team USA on a the power play. Not looking very sharp.
-
Sweden taking it to Team USA right now as well. Let's hope they both turn our way.
-
We're gonna have to play six periods of Sioux hockey to get a sweep off CC.
Absolutely! I watched both games and they made the goofs look downright silly at times, well so did we in GF. And don't forget they have a hell of a goalie that can stand on his head.
I'm REALLY glad we will be playing them at home instead of traveling out there. Get the boys on the plane right now and get the heck out of there before that powder keg pops!

We call this "pulling a Blais"
With over 4 minutes left and they're not on a power play. I'd say even Blais would call this ballsy.
-
I have been really impressed with the way Blood is playing tonight! He looks like a sophmore out there; moving the puck up ice really fast and swinging some nasty hip checks. Zajac and Gregoire have really been playing a great game tonight as well. Great to see all lines firing.

The way he was smiling I wonder if mac HUNTER-LYONS wasn't the one playing the joke.
And he IS the brother of the ".......and BOOM goes the dynamite" guy. That's funny to watch in a painful kind of way.
-
Now THIS has been my favorite part of watching the games. "Hi! I'm your host mac HUNTER-LYONS and this is the Sea Wolves update. Our girls basketball team defeats another foe."
He's wearing his dad's tie and his older and bigger brothers dress shirt. That was funny stuff!
