Cecil's Deli - A little drive but DELICIOUS food. http://www.cecilsdeli.com/
Ruam Mit Thai - Only a couple blocks from the X. Best Thai in the area. http://ruam-mit-thai.net/
Other good ones have been given already...you shouldn't go hungry!
Have to agree with Cecil's...if your'e a reuben fan,one of the best places to get one.
-
Not completely true, were in a suite, and will have booze and food. There will be no alcohol sales in the concourses though! Sioux fans will have to hit up the st Paul bars before the games, speaking of, where are the places to go by the x?
Btw, didn't mean to + your post, meant to hit reply. Go Sioux!

What do you guys think good buy or bad buy?

OK, now I got curious and had to go look. Last year, the #1 seed had the night game, regardless of its opponent. It happened to be the Gophers, but it wasn't the Gopher rule in effect, since #1 was scheduled in the night game before the play-in game was played. This is an excerpt from a WCHA press release that week:
"Then on Friday evening, the winner of Thursday night's game between St. Cloud State and Minnesota will do battle with top-seeded Colorado College (28-9-1) at 7:07 pm CT."
http://www.wcha.com/sports/m-hockey/spec-rel/031708aac.html
The exact reasoning isn't spelled out (and of course this is the WCHA, so they could do anything they wanted and it wouldn't be surprising), but I recall something about them ending the Gopher rule.
So the Sioux play Friday night if UW and DU both win tonight correct?
-
woud they no matter what? i thought the 1 seed got to play the early friday game in order to get more rest for title game saturday?? i may be wrong but thats the reason there is always debate with the gophers being in
I'm almost positive. Assuming the Sioux win tonight they will automatically be in the semi-final game awaiting the winner of the quarter-final game Thursday. If DU, UW, and or CC all win there series this weekend all three of them will be higher seeds than the Goophers in the F5. I'm thinking the Sioux, UW, DU, and the Goophs will all sweep tonight, and I'm thinking CC is going to bounce back and win 2 in a row to just barely get in against UMD.
Heres what it would look like if my predictions are correct
Quarter-Final CC vs. Goophs
Semi-Final Game 1-DU vs. UW
Semi-Final Game 2-Sioux vs. Winner QF
-
i would say you would have to wait im guessing to see if the gophers make the final 5 or not or how everything plays out with seedings if they do make it
If DU and UW both win tonight the Sioux play the night game Friday.

How Mexican do you want? There is a very Mexican area across the river from downtown with very authentic restaurants. The one we used to go to for lunch didn't have it's menu in English until three or four years ago. I've only been to Boca Chica once and it wasn't great but I know lots of people like it. I think you are better off going a couple more blocks down Cesar Chavez to the

Hat Trick for a maybe soon to be sioux player Brock Nelson
When is he supposed to be coming to UND...he is only a junior, I could see him coming after his senior year and doing a before and after deal in the USHL.

Is that bar this out back and down by the Great Waters Brewery?
Yes...its like a half block away from Great Waters Brewery...i've been there once, they have great wings.

Any pregame plans for Friday? Knock on wood...Tom Reid's is fun, Wild Times is a good venue...Allery's is always great...I always take Friday off for fun. Any party plans for firday day?
11am-Wake up...Have a few brews.
12:30pm-Make my way to Cassettas before Semi-Final game
2:07pm-Semi-Final game DU vs Wisco
5:00pm-Grab a bite to eat at Cecil's on Cleveland...if you are a fan of reubens you must go there
7:07pm Sioux kick the Goophers arse
10:00pm-Get even more hammered and crash at friends place in Dinkytown
Next day wake up and do it all over again...but change the places up instead of Cassettas I suggest the Tavern on Grand or if you have time hit up the Little Venetian on Rice street or the one in Oakdale or even better but a lot further go to Donatelli's(which was on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives) in White Bear on E

You guys need to relax a little bit here...for the Goophs to play the night game Friday without playing the Sioux 2 out of 3 have to get upset...I don't see the BADgers, CC or DU getting knocked off this weekend. But crazy things happen...my predictions
Sioux over Tech in 2
DU over AA in 2
CC over UMD in 3
Wisco over MSU in 3
Goophers over Clown in 2
Goophers over CC on Thurs
DU over Wisco
Sioux over Goophers
Goophers over Wisco for Third
As much as I want to see that Sioux beating DU...I don't think they will
I'll take DU 3-2 in OT
-
Totally disagree for this reason: MTU will play hard and is a grind-it-out team regardless of the score. There is not a softer team in the WCHA than SCSU. UM got the perfect match-up. MTU gets down by a couple goals, they'll continue to fight/grind. SCSU gets down by a couple, they'll pack it in.
Now I hope I'm wrong because I would love to see the F5 without the Gophers!
Are you kidding that is what makes it fun.
-
UND in 2
DU in 2
MSU in 3 third game goes in to OT...and the Badgers NCAA chances are over
CC in 3
Gophers in 2
Gophers ove MSU
CC beats DU in the semis
UND beats the Goophers bad
UND vs CC- Sioux win and are the one seed in Minneapolis
