  1. The article you quoted was about the UNM D-Coordinator, Jeff Mills. UND92 was referring to the NM State Coordinator, Dave Elson. Just to clarify for people...

EDIT: In looking at NM State's record this year, you could say the same thing about their defense. It appears they were giving up around 45 points a game...

Defensive Corrdinator at New Mexico not returning to team. Faison old Stomping grounds. Maybe future coach at UND? Stay Tuned

    My bad.

  2. Jovan Dewitt and Jamie Marshall both look decent. It doesn't look like Dewitt has had the greatest time at FAU, but it appears he did well at UNI. He's originally from Wisconsin, played at Northern Michigan, and was a DC at Northern Iowa. Seems like he'd be able to hit our recruiting areas fairly well or at least know people who can. Huh, he also played a year for the Fargo Freeze of the Arena Football League.

    RE: Jovan Dewitt

I agree. He looks to be a legitimate candidate. He was named the FAU DC in late October.

"Our goal is to play fast, play violent, and create turnovers," DeWitt said.

    http://www.fauowlaccess.com/articles/324/fau-defensive-backs-making-the-nation-take-notice.aspx

FAU's secondary is playing at an elite level - something that appeared far from certain a couple weeks ago.
  3. I like this one out of the 18

Nicholas Siciliano, (most recent job) offensive assistant coach with Cincinnati Bengals (also was quarterbacks coach at Ohio State from 2005-2012).

The word order of assistant and coach makes a difference. Assistant coach vs coach assistant.

It appears that he may be the latter...

    ROW 6:
    James Urban, Wide Receivers; Paul Guenther, Linebackers; Ken Zampese, Quarterbacks; Brayden Coombs, Offensive Asst.; Travis Brammer, Video Director; Hue Jackson, Asst. Special Teams/Asst. Defensive Backs; Chip Morton, Strength & Conditioning; Paul Sparling, Head Athletic Trainer; Jim Anderson, Running Backs; Dan Willen, Asst. Trainer; Nick Cosgray, Dir. Of Rehabilitation/Asst. Trainer;
    Nick Siciliano, Coaching Asst.

Not a lot of love from OSU fans...

  4. Don't know that they had a bad week of FBS matchups like this one. No top 25 matchups this week. Only a couple games to get excited about:

    Utah/BYU

    Notre Dame/Michigan St. (Megaphone Game)

It seems someone else agrees with you...

    http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/9685270/woe-college-football-week

But the reason GameDay is going to Fargo is that there isn't a compelling game in the other 49 states.

Regardless...it should be a memorable day for the FU faithful. Enjoy.

  5. We had the talent to beat good FCS teams while we were D2 and now we don't, so I think people can go ahead and drop this excuse.

UND beat one decent FCS team while we were DII. FU went 6-5 and 3-8 in their first two years after the transition. UND went 5-6 and yet to be determined...I won't mention the Yotes.

  6. Hahaha Sioux83 you crack me up. I can imagine you were a division 1 quarterback werent you. Did you watch the same game as me or a different one? We ran it down your throats and therefore there was never a rhythm between the quarterback Sumner and our receivers. He had one throw that was bad the other incompletions came courtesy of four dropped balls and good defense. You have no idea what it takes to play college football nor probably never will and that is okay. Kind of diffiicult when you only throw on 3rd and 9 or 3rd and ten isnt it? Or am I being unrealistic by that as well? You can jab back at me if you choose thats your choice but we will see who is right and wrong come draft day:)

In what round do you see him being drafted?

  7. Not a fan of either just like to read all of the different forums out there....but in all reality if it comes down to a passing contest there is no way UND can hang. But to each their own as they say.

Not a fan of either SDSU or FU?

He seems to have quicker feet than the previous two years...biggest thing though I believe is being able to see the rush coming and know where to avoid it...seems as if he does a great job of that..I think well hope that our O-Line does as good as job all year as they did last weekend. I know games will get tougher but so will the JACKS.

So when you said "our" did you mean "your"? Or was that posted by a different "timeforachange"?

  8. To be fair...there are other universities that have "University of Agriculture and Applied Sciences" as part of their official name. I suggest that to avoid confusion one should use "THE University of Agriculture and Applied Sciences" when referring to FU. I believe they have earned the distinction.

    Carry on.

    Ahh come on

Under the lights where we stand tall

    Nobody touches us at all

Showdown, shootout, spread fear within, without

We're gonna take what's ours to have

Spread the word throughout the land

They say the bad guys wear black

We're tagged and can't turn back

    You see us comin'

And you all together run for cover

    We're takin over this town

I was completely unaware of this piece of UND history. Thanks for finding that...

    [Google]

1937...Carl Eckstrom defeated Paul Waller (Washington State) in the 125lb weight class.

This short history is worth a read...

In 1939, he fell short of another National Championship and was runner-up.

  11. ******MAKE SURE YOU READ THIS BEFORE SCROLLING FURTHER*******

This guy posted the exact same thing at Bisonville. He obviously made the mistake of putting it on the wrong forum. He's a troll. I'm an SDSU fan but I thought you would like to know. Mods should delete this guy's account immediately.

    Here's the link: http://www.bisonville.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23443

I find it interesting that tony had pegged this troll as a UND fan pretending to be a NDSU fan. I guess he might know...I think tony is a UND fan pretending to be a NDSU fan. He slipped up when he gave UND its own forum on Bisonville back in 2005. He has since covered his tracks.

  13. I can see maybe a conference flip flop of teams....Mich Tech bolts for the CCHA, Alaska to the WCHA, UAH to the CCHA, and the BTHC begging other Big Ten schools to start up hockey...Nebraska, Purdue, Northwestern, Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa.

Geographically...your suggestion makes sense. Along this same line one could add Air Force to the WCHA.

Has UND ever hosted Air Force in hockey? If not...it would seem a potential way to get the GFAFB personnel more involved or at least cognizant of UND athletics.
