And he suspended them for one game. If that wasn't enough, he should have suspended them for two games (or three or whatever). But at some point, you have to move on and focus on winning basketball games. Give them a chance to learn from their mistake; if they do it again, make the discipline harsher. And if what they did was as horrible as it seems, he should just cut them.

There is a place for discipline and accountability, but at some point you end up punishing the other players who weren't involved in whatever this is or was.

Is Coach Brewster punishing the rest of the players, or did they do it to the rest of the players?? You don't think that he wants to win??  Good grief "we" are not in practice everyday, and have no idea what exactly has gone on.  Couldn't agree more with southpaw, and one of the big problems with society.  Always "Coach's" fault.  BS!!  The girls obviously are a problem.  Sometimes coaching isn't always about wins and losses, but also about life lessons.  He is going to make them earn it.  I say good for him!!

  2. If I had the money I would have invested with BJ and Shaun without a doubt. They spent enough time at Sanders and the HoDo to know what works in this market and what does not work. This experiance has shown to be quite effective.

Who is BJ? Isn't it Shaun and Jon Holth that own The Toasted Frog?

  3. The ladies were NOT in a match up zone, it was a straight 2-3 look and the trouble was defending the high post. Once the ball got to the high post, Wyoming could pick anyone they wanted to pass the ball too and, yes, they did make shots. The ladies played pretty much all man in the second half; that wasn't very good either in my opinion. Personally, I would like to see the match up implemented. Buck has always been a man-to-man coach, and a good one at that, so for him to teach the match up would be a good transition. Not easy, but easier for him to teach.

I agree on the outfits. Our coaches look like a bowling team in those shirts. Definitely prefer the more professional look of shirts/ties.

I thought that I saw a little 122 at some point, but I was preoccupied with other things and trying to watch some to. Either way the 2-3 was awful, but I am pretty sure that they played a some 1-2-2.

  4. After attending last nights game, I can see that it is going to be a long season. It seemed to me that the girls were lost in the matchup zone last night, and I am starting question what the girls are being taught about a zone because they are constantly out of position. Its one thing to play a good zone and give up points, but the girls were not matching up correctly out of the zone last night, and definitely didn't rebound out of it. I believe we basically have one coach for every two girls, so lets figure it out, and at least do things fundamentally right even if we get beat.

On another note.....are the coaches ever going to take off the intermural practice attire and start dressing the part? Can we at least tuck the shirts in even if we are going to dress like a bunch of jv phy ed instructors.

  5. I don't know if I would call him the greatest because we have had some pretty awesome captains while I have been at UND. Duncs is a great guy and great captain, but as for the greatest....i think that it depends on your personal opinion and what you grade on.

Well, what do you grade on? I consider it a leadership position that is what a captain is....The leader of the team not necessarily the best player, but the overall leader of the team, or the person that everyone looks to in tough times and in good times.

  6. I know we have had some good ones over the years, but as far as a representative of class both on and off the ice, what are your thoughts.

Is Duncan the greatest captain of all time?

I don't think that winning an NCAA title has anything to do with it. The way he has led a young team without the Oshie's and Toew's and Parise's of years past, and just the way that he handles the media along with his loyalty and commitment not only to the hockey team, but also the university, the community and the region. I mean the kid is first class all the way, and I have never even met him.

  8. LRSC is in the Mon-Dak conference. All the North Dakota juco's and Miles City and Dawson (Glendive) make up the Mon-Dak conference.

Ok I was thinking the Mon-Dak was Mayville, and VCSU, and so on, but I was wrong that is the DAC.

  9. There was more talk on the coach's show tonight about "the 6'5" forward from Devils Lake" (Kate Sharkova). Roebuck said he is pretty high on anyone from Lake Region and that they produce kids who can play. The way Roebuck and Tim & Swyg talked, she is the primary target for this last scholarship that they have left.

Sharkova finished the season averaging 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks per game. She was named to the Mon-Dak All Conference 1st Team, and lead the Mon-Dak in rebounding and blocks, and was 3rd in scoring. She is from Belarus.

Lets hope they can get a decent post to help out what should be a solid perimeter. On a side note....Devils Lake isn't in the Mon-Dak are they?

  10. Any Season Ticket Holder not using their tickets to the March 13-15 Playoff Game I am interested in 2-4 tickets preferably four and will pay over the listed price. My e-mail is bjggfk@hotmail.com

    Thanks and Go Sioux!

Geez Gillen settle down its spring break. Tickets won't be a problem just relax and dream about Jose by the time that week rolls around you will have no problems.

  11. What do you guys think of names on the back of jerseys. This has been turned down every time it has come up at SU. I can understand the reasons to shake the look up a bit, with the move to D-I and probable name change. But at the same time it is also important to incorporate that with tradition. I would personally be against anything too drastic. How about throwbacks for one game? Break out the old silver helmets.

westsidebison can we tap into the unlimited budget of NDSU football to get this accomplished? Just wondering since the D1 move is so inexpensive. Seems like a complete waste of money to me.

  12. I have 2 pairs of tickets but am only selling one pair so you have your choice.

2 tickets in lower bowl, Sec. 105, Row 4 where the Sioux shoot twice.

$250 for the pair or best offer

    and

2 tickets in the student sections 307-310A. First come, first served.

$150 for the pair or best offer.

    Call me at 218-281-1013.

    Go Sioux!

Have you sold these tickets yet?

  13. I don't know about other courses, but on the science side there are several sections of AP Biology, Chem, and physics. They may have to have ap teachers float between the two schools, we'll see. Teacher compensation in Fargo is very competitive with Moorhead. While true salary may be lower in Fargo the district pays for both the employer and employee match in to their retirement account. Plus the funding debacle over in MN would scare the heck out of me if I was a teacher in MN. How often do you see stories about teacher layoffs on the west side of the Red? In Moorhead its happend a few time in the last decade.

I think you guys have gotten a little off the subject.

  14. I completely agree Old School! IMO we do not need another high school as enrollment shrinks. However...there is quiet talk about wanting another as RR is growing and the housing is only going south. If I also heard correctly there is land near the middle school already designated and rough plans have been drawn. I agree with you on taxes and the whole point but as everyone in GF knows....if the people in power/control want it....it will come...even if we vote it down three times.

Good Point Siouxperseven. I can't argue that one bit.

  15. It wasnt abotu him failing classes. I heard from a relaible sources he didnt take enough credits. idiot

Think about it gfhockey.....Do you really think that the coaching staff would allow him to not take enough credits? He obviously didn't pass enough.....I believe the number was 10 credits passed for the entire year. gfhockey don't call this young man an idiot your comment made yourself look like an idiot.

  16. Good Point! And yes, most of the $250k plus homes are in RR district. RR has plenty of apartments in their distrit and that's the only way it somewhat balances out. Central has most of the lower priced homes due to the age. Interesting comments as we were just talking about this Friday night. Plus, more than a few RR kids go to Central because of athletics and less competition....not meaning less talent just less numbers. GF will build a new high school.

Siouxperseven why in the world would Grand Forks build a new high school. We are not growing, and taxes in the town are out of control just curious about your statement.

  17. You are correct. I was misinformed about the situation. I just checked the official Nebraska Athletics website and it would appear that they don't have an official school sponsored team.

That said, there's no reason for you to be an absolute dick about that. And yes our team is relatively easy to join...perhaps because it's only two years old. Go figure that you can't just create an elite program out of nothing.

Btw - Lacrosse lost at NDSU on Saturday and won against Moorhead at home on Sunday to close out their season.

How is that being a dick Brucesky02. I would venture to guess that if a program is created that not one player from the club team would make the actual team. Sorry you obviously play. Stick to the band you baby.
