This whole situation is incredibly ridiculous!! If anything UND is representing the Native American tradition. Before every basketball game at least there is a speech about how the Sioux was the strongest and bravest of all the warriors. I mean, how proud am I to be a part of the Fighting Sioux tradition??? When fans say home of the sioux at the end of the national anthem....greatest feeling in the world to me.
Another point to make is that when it comes down to it, the NCAA is punishing the student-athletes of UND and other universities. These athletes work hard all year long so they can represent their schools and it's tradition. If the NCAA is going to make a ruling, do it! Don't sit there and say "oh, you can have the name, but sorry you can't host any post season tournaments!" that's BS!!! there are a lot of our athletics teams that could host everything this year, for one the women's basketball team, home court/field/whatever advantage is huge!! when i first heard about this, i could not sleep that night i was so upset.
