According to this guy who wrote to INCH, the national title will be decided in Madison on Feb. 6-7:
It's a good thing UND is playing well right now because from what I hear, there is nothing else to do in Grand Forks. However, there are plenty of things going on in Madison, but nothing hotter then our hockey team. As far as I am concerned the NCAA might as well bring the national championship trophy to Madison on Feb. 6th and 7th when UND comes to the Kohl center for perhaps the biggest matchup of the season. And believe me, with 17,000 people in attendance both of those nights, a power outage will be the last of their concerns because the student section is going to be have the place shaking by the end of the night. Go Badgers!

Interesting...where are they going to put the extra 1,500-2,000 that don't have seats? So that will make what, the 5th and 6th sellouts in the five years at the Kohl Center?

I would like to see some good pictures of the Gopher player pushing the AR away from him. Any suspension out of that?

As for bad reffing, some may remmember, some may not, some prolly don't care, but Greg Sheppard would only call AGAINST the Gophers, he let linesmen and the "other" ref call against Minn's opponents....now that is bad. All because he didn't want to be called "homer" in his calls...and yes we got hosed every game he ref'd.

Yeah, and God forbid after his mother was murdered he showed up in the Star-Trib wearing a DU t-shirt...what the hell was he thinking...that just proved even more that he hated the Gophers...right...

I didn't vote, I think all WCHA refs range from awful to barely competent. If I were a player in this league, I'd be thinking about jumping ship to the major juniors...
They're not any better in the WHL, that's for damn sure!

With CC being such a hockey school (they only have 1500 students and I'd guess that their hockey program is about the only one which makes money), and with all of that money invested in their new hockey arena, I wonder why they don't just cancel the rest of their sports (or bring them down to club level) and keep D-I hockey? Maybe that's not allowed, and what defines a D-III school has to do with more than just athletics. It seems odd that CC would allow such a storied program to go into mothballs just for the sake of their other sports.
Either way, this sucks. Why couldn't this have happened to some team like Kato or AA? (rhetorical question, obviously.) CC is probably one of my favorite teams to watch the Sioux play.
MSU-M and UAA are both D-II.

Bush league in what sense? 2/3 of the line apparently was out on the ice.

And both of those incidents pale in comparison to Woog paying money to his players, Lou Nanne and Glenn Sonmoor recruiting Zach Parise after he already committed to UND, the Clem Haskins scandal, and the numerous other recent scandals at the University of Rodents.

I don't live up in GF, but was wondering if the photos in Columbia Mall of Engelstad Arena (I think they were Caulfield Studios) are being sold, and if so, how much the cost was?
