  1. :D Does anyone know if the game is on the same internet feed for tomorrows game as has been all year (with Tim Hennessey). Or, do we need to download something from the WCHA to get the game?

    Go Sioux!

  2. Sockeye:

I know who you are and my comments weren't meant as a personal knock on Brian.

Ha!  That is a funny one.  :-)  We have never tried to hide our identity.  We are indeed, the PROUD parents of #22.

please don't attack me personally in the future.

That is funny too!  We had a good laugh at that comment.  How does the saying go?  You can sure dish it out?  If you can't stand the heat?  DONT expect to come on this board talking smack about our kids and not expect a response by very proud Sioux parents.  We all read these posts.  We are parents first.  Sioux fans second.

  3. P.S.  Canady gets a D.Q.

I don't know whether Canady has a bad rep or what with the refs, but it is beginning to be a pattern that he gets stick infractions.  Tonight, he gets ejected for a spearing penalty, leaving the road team shorthanded.

Mr. Canady, if you want to be a factor with the Fighting Sioux, you've got to clean up the act.

I dont know who you are, but I do know Brian Canady. You should get some facts before you shoot your mouth off. I take GREAT offense to your comments regarding Brian.

We talked with Brian after the game. He said he pushed a guy in the elbow and Mankato kid grabbed his wrist trying to draw a penalty on Brian. This, by the way, all took place IN FRONT OF THE REF. The ref and boys all skated away. No call. As Brian skated away the LINESMEN said, "#22, come here". When Brian skated over to him he told Brian to follow him to the penalty box. Brian didn't even know what he was being called for. The ref skated over to the penalty box and asked, "what's the penalty for?" The linesmen said, "He speared the guy in the nuts". Ref said, "in that case, your out of here". BRIAN DID NOT SPEAR ANYONE. The infraction will be reviewed because BRIAN DID NOT SPEAR ANYONE!

Do you have stats on how many "stick infractions" Brian has had this year? I would say the only "pattern" here is your lack of information and your big mouth. You have a lot of nerve to address Brian's factor as a Sioux. It's pretty easy to hide behind your computer and talk the big talk. Let me just tell you, "YOU DON'T KNOW s&!t".

  4. Hi Guys,

Thanks from "way up north" for all the updates and post. We really enjoy reading them. PCM, your article on the USCHO page was great. Nice job.

Can hardly wait for the puck to drop tomorrow night. Sioux kicking some Badger Butt!

  5. You know, I didn't ask. Brian doesn't like to talk about who isn't going to play. They are so protective of one another. I know there were only 25 tickets to go. Last week, with Brian out of the line up, we got a good look into how the boys feel when they have to sit out. Those kids are so disappointed when they don't make the game sheet. My heart hurt for several of them last weekend. I'm afraid there is going to be some very disappointed Sioux players every week. I guess it's, "just part of it" and it's like this every year. Maybe because we are getting to know the boys on such a personal level now, I hurt along with them. Maybe it's a "Mom thing"... :p

  6. Niagara's #7 was Tallari, who was involved in most of the Niagara scoring. Was he a bit chippy out there also, or did Brian want to see him leveled to teach him not to enter the Sioux zone?

Not only did Brian want to see him leveled, so did Blais. He was pissed the Sioux let him score twice Friday night in "OUR HOUSE"... He told Jason Noterman he wanted him to stick to Tallari like a fly on **** Saturday night. :p Jason did a good job.

  7. Hey, our trip was great. Thanks for asking. :p

Brian sat with us during the games this week. He is watches with great intensity. Doesn't say much... just studies the game. Didn't like Niagra's #7 and told coach someone needed to come out on the ice and lay him out! Coach agreed. He hates not being in the line up. I guess Blais is going to let him play this weekend. We'll keep our fingers crossed his shoulder holds up. He almost played last weekend, but coach is being cautious. Friday Blais said it was up to Brian (weather he thought his shoulder was ready or not) if he wanted to play. Saturday at pregame, he told Brian he wasn't going to play him. That made the decision for Brian easy. Brian is looking forward to making the trip out east and getting his first games out of the way before WCHA play. I don't know yet who coach will pair Brian up with.

  8. Are you going to be able to catch any of the women's hockey games this weekend???

You bet. 2:00, Saturday. :D We'll be there helping set the new Women's Hockey attendence and cheering the Sioux Women to victory over BC.

    See you there!

  9. :D Were flying out tonight for Grand Forks and anticipating a great week of Sioux hokey! If any of you guys (jk, PCM, etc.) are at the games, come and say hello. It will be fun to put a face to your posts. We'll be easy to spot. Were the guy in the wheelchair and his pretty wife. :-) I'm hoping Brian will be able to hang out with us a bit during the game and give us his perspective on the play. He's still out for awhile with a pesky shoulder injury. See you at the Ralph!

    Randy

  10. Canady also played and informed my buddy during the autograph session that he hurt his shoulder again and wouldn't know until today if he would make this weekend's trip, but perhaps Brian's father knows more about situation.

Your friend was correct. Brian's shoulder is still not 100%. He will stay home this weekend. Hopefully the "healing Gods" will help him nurse that shoulder back into the line-up for opening night at the REA. We are traveling long and far to watch him play...

Good luck to the Sioux in New York. :D

  11. Parise should be good but is he that much better??

    Daggies,

My favorite Sioux player tells me Parise is indeed, that good. We specifically asked about Parise compared to Vanek. He said something like, "no comparison ~ hands down... Parise is better". Not only does he think Parise will be ROY he just may be the best player in the league. During practice he hits, shoots, scores (a lot). Backs down from no Sioux and gets in everyones business... A scrapper to boot! We can hardly wait to see him play. I'm hearing he is already the MVP of the Sioux squad. Time will tell, that is for sure. :D

    Go Sioux!

  12. Non-hockey break:  I ran the Twin Cities Marathon today, in about 3:53.  There are things I'm happy about and others I'm disappointed in.  2,088th place overall, out of 8,500 registrants.  Not exactly up to Sioux standards, but I mostly did the best I could.

You are my hero! :0 Good for you. You know, I run a little up and down the street trying to keep my "girlish figure". :D In my next life, I will run marathons. ;) Hooray for you, Jk!

  13. :D I'm sorry guys... I over~reacted. I guess I'm not as thick skinned as I'd like to be. jk, please accept my apology. Call it a PMS moment ;) . (Twenty-five second graders had to put up with me today too). I PROMISE I will behave on here... :0
  14. I know what we'll get from Canady (a few goals bouncing in off his butt and shinpads).

    .

:D Sheeze... what is your problem? Get off the kids back. His goals did not come off his butt and shinpads. Sure sometimes he may get a lucky bounce while he's putting up a great effort in front of the net. It's called grind and gritt! It's called getting the s&%t kicked out of you and working hard for points. He's not a finess player but a Sioux point is a Sioux point. You made him sound like a "lesser player" than the other guys. I resent your comment. And now I'm late for work................

  15. You know, I'm not sure what the actual prognosis is on his shoulder. He had it evaluated on Wednesday. At that time the doc said he would be out 5-6 weeks. Obviously upset, he left us a bummed~out message on the answering maching. Brian left for Oregon Wednesday night for the weekend. (He is the Best Man in his cousins wedding). I haven't been able to talk to him since Tuesday. I talked with my folks last night and my Dad said Brian thought his shoulder was much better. He has some machine with him (stimiulates the muscle?) that he is using to help heal him up. He (Brian) seems to think he will be back on the ice much earlier than 5-6 weeks. Hope so!

Regarding the walk~on's... he hasn't said much except they are really getting "worked". I think there are about 12 guys trying to earn a walk on spot that may not exist. :D
