  3. Make sure that the Stars and Stripes are higher on the pole than da "M" flag is there WPoS. The old Ralph lot is essentially the same as the Memorial lot as I recall. Go to the old Ralph, you cannot miss the lot. Right behind the football stadium as you come off of the Columbia Road overpass. Better bring a white flag to be waving in the arena come around the mid third period of the game as well. Friday night game, that is.

Look forward to seeing you around the arenas, WPoS, and thanks for giving me a shout at the X.

How have you been NDH, look forward to reuniting and tipping a few malten beverages with you on Sat. I know the TRIOUXPER, Yttrium, Snake and "The Source", of course, of course will be there! I can't wait!!

  5. we'll have a crew to stop and have some fun then. Just to clarify (never been to GF), is the Memorial lot the same as the old Ralph? Warning tho, there WILL be a Gopher flag on a flag pole (as well the Stars and Stripes)!

    W

Yes, the Old Ralph parking lot where we will be is on the east side of Memorial Stadium. You will see us in front of which was once the most electrifying building in all of college hockey, the Old Ralph!

  6. I am pretty sure that ther ea re a few Gopher fans that would enjoy a good tailgate and a few rounds of BeerDarts (of course assuming we play Saturday, which we should be doing, as well as UND). Noting better than tasty animal parts, BeerDarts, cheap beer and a bottle being passed around for a pregame....

What UND fans are up to the challenge? 37 degrees sounds downright tropical, considering we tailgated all winter for Gopher games....that Denver series, the beer would freeze in 1 minute...but I imagine you guys know what cold is...

    W

Yes, we have a seen a cold day or two here in the forks, we did a -10 F tailgate :D for the Wisco tilt last year!

  7. I doubt anyone would object if you tailgated in the Memorial Stadium parking lot and then took the shuttle to the Ralph.

No, they don't care if we tailgate in front of the Old Ralph Engelstad Arena. This is our second season of gating for the big tilts and the UPD has driven by us several times and has never bothered us. It is a great time, we are tenatively planning on a 400pm start on Sat. All are welcome, even Goofer fans as long as you are respectful as you will be standing on hallowed ground. :D

P.S. BYOB and food if hungry, we will have a grill!!

  8. This team is in serious need of redemption to right a sinking ship. IF they come out with some desperation, play with some heart and stay out of the DAMN PENALTY BOX, it will be a good night! Lets GO SIOUX!!

  9. You're absolutely right, dagies,-the word is spelled "prima donna"--I'm a CPA, so Math's my thing, not English. And I'm flattered that some think I'm a pissed off "former or current Sioux player." I used to play in my high school days, but due to an injury, have hung up my skates. I do have a 10 year old son who plays and has gone to the Sioux hockey camps for the last couple of summers--have met many of the players & have never gotten the impression they think they're hot stuff. They have always been courteous, humble, & patient with the kids. All i'm saying is they can only get better with "fan" encouragement, but may be discouraged with the animosity that's shown sometimes. B,t.w., I highly doubt the players read this stuff anyway--at least I hope not!

siouxperstar and I must have had the same English teacher, my bad on the spelling!

  10. Wow! Sounds like some of you may have torked off a current Sioux hockey player or a former hockey player very close to the program. Just an observation, I could be totally off base!

Sorry for calling you a pre maddona Stafford

  11. not at all eskimos, wow...i did not mean anything by making a post other than to direct the BRAND NEW poster to the former players thread for future former players info. just trying to hep him/her out...usually thats where all call ups and call downs are posted. unless its huge news its nice to use that thread if a poster knows about it...usually when you see a new post in the former players pop up to the top on this site you go directly to the end of the thread and dont read tons of posts to find out what someone has posted...

if im the thread police then who are you my trusty little sidekick ???

Seriously AZSioux is this all you do for a living is police the SS message board?

  12. I agree that sometimes this team comes out and just expects that talent will win. There is a ton of hype involved with their recruitment and some act as though winning a game will just happen because they put on the skates and the other "lesser talented" team will shrink or something.

The new coach of the Colorado football team, Dan Hanskins, had a quote that I think fits this team:

"You lose with potential; you win with achievers."

    Sounds applicable to this team??

Great quote, very apllicable to this team. The last two UND NCAA titles were one with over acheivers!

  13. I certainly agree with you Snake, are some of these players actually thinking that because there are all these first round talents on the team that opposing teams are intimidated by it and will roll over and give the game away. These team needs less premaddona's like Stafford and more lunch pail, money goal players like Scorin Goren or Matt Henderson. If Stafford exerted half the energy he displayed at the WJC and showed some heart maybe this team would start winning these. Great to see you on SS, Have a great New Year Snake!!!

  14. Glad everyone is jumping on the The Oshie Bandwagon now. I was on it after the Manitoba game. :D

What are talking about, I've been on Oshie's bandwagon since he was a soph. at Warroad High?

  15. What a weekend TJ!! GWG of Fri in BJI and a trick on Sat. What a way to end the first half of the year. He is certainly a strong contender for WCHA Rookie of the year. Best of luck to TJ at the WJC, Bring home the GOLD!!!

  16. ok this bothered me a little bit and maybe i'm just sticking to my old roots when i say this BUT "I now realize how the Warriors won 2 MN State titles in 3 years!" Do you watch Minnesota hockey at all? I'm not arguing that Oshie isn't top notch, I really have enjoyed his playing thus far as well, but i will comment that his amazing point total and his 2 titles in the MN State league have a little bit to do with Warroad not stepping up to Class AA. They are still a single A school. SERIOUSLY, if a team is that good and that developed and that infamous at this point in high school hockey it might be time to step it up and possibly take on a new challenge, or a challenge at all. Warroad isn't all that great going down and winning titles against single A teams, they need to step up and realize that they just might have to take a down year or two to get into the swing of AA. I'm complaining a little because I get sick of listening to how good they are and how amazing some of their key players stats are, yes they have an excellent program and excellent recruiting skills too i might add, but its not hard to get those stats and get those titles when you're playing at the single A level. Again I mean nothing of this against Oshie, because I'm truly loving his performance thus far, and he's really not a true Warroadite anyway, but maybe it should be taken into account that his bazillion points aren't all that noteworthy, as our his titles considering the league in which they came from.

Hey IHEARTDEFENSEMEN, for your information TJ's blood goes much further back in Warroad hockey than you think, get your facts straight before making such stupid comments!
