  1. If they were the two best teams they wouldn't have been the 3 and 4 seeds, as I'm sure all of the players and coaches would tell you. They are in the championship because they beat the two best teams. Congratulations to them, it took a great effort to beat teams better than they are. They deserve a lot of credit and should be very proud of themselves.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Well if you want to say it that way than RR is one of the 2 best teams because they got 2nd in the regular season.

  2. So you're 100% positive that we're going to see upsets in both semifinal games? Not saying it isn't a possibility at this point considering how Central handled Minot and the way McLean turned what should have been a slaughter into a close game against Century (I hope he bounces back vs. RR), but this cocky holier than thou attitude is exactly the thing I've been hinting at that rubs me the wrong way about the Central and Red River hockey programs. It's not even the players that are cocky, it's the people who support those programs. Not all of the people who support those programs, but enough to make them all look bad. Yes, they're very good programs... but get over yourselves already. The arrogance coming out of GF is almost as bad as it is over in Moorhead. You can't go around with the attitude that you should be expected to win because of what your teams did in previous years. There's a reason you were the 3 and 4 seeds coming out of the east this year. How many games did both GF schools combined win aganst South this year? I believe they're a combined 0 for 5. Right? As the 1 and 2 seeds, South and Grafton still have to be considered the odds-on favorites to meet in the title game till proven otherwise.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Well Dave, looks like my prediction held up and you're the one who again got worked, just like your Bruins. I guess I dont feel all that smart though because anyone with half of a brain should know going into the State tournament that the GF teams only get beat by the other GF team. Looks like that GF domintaion that you said was basically over is actually as strong as ever. And tell your boy Ben Mclean the "Big Game Player" that the state tournament games are considered big, not just jamboree wins against RR.

  3. I never said anything about being knowledgeable in many different areas of life. :D

Okay, blatently wrong....you are GF biased...well thats not blatently wrong.  You disagree with everything I say.....thats not blatently wrong.  I never said anything about myself being a truely great individual......thats not blatenly wrong.

The Laducer part is correct I'm affraid.  He's a horrible official.  Ohh wait, let me put it in terms that are acceptable.  He pisses in his breezers while officiating hockey games all the time! :silly:

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

GF has won almost every year, it's not bias, it's just the way it is. Minot has won 1, count it 1, state title. And for you to make all these comments about Ladouceur is just comical because you werent even at the game that was in question. Had you been there you would have seen that Ladouceur actually called more penalties on RR while the other ref was calling penalties on North. Refs dont win state titles every year, players do.

  4. So there is no possibility at all that I was joking about Laducer being an overweight idiot, yet when another person (that you by chance get along with) talks about high school hockey players urinating in their breezers multiple times its just fun and games, and its okay to do.

Just admit that you won't agree with anything I say.  Because you know its the truth, and you are too GF biased to see it any other way.

PS:  When did I say anything about myself being a truly great individual?

PSS:  I'm sure that all the GFC students were joking around when they made comments (that only soohockey is okay to repeat) as I was wearing a Minot t-shirt around the Ralph tonight.  But I'm sure you think thats okay too.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I can't agree with things that are so blatently wrong. Oh, and you have bad English on that last post. :silly:

  5. "Truly a great individual" gets off by talking about high school kids pissing in their breezers... :silly:

Thats a great lesson on life! :D

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Just answered your question. Sorry if you don't like the answer.

  6. I'm sorry to correct you sir:

Finally is spelled with an "N"

you've needs an ' between the u and the ve

I'm sure your knowledgeable about the English Language as well!:silly:

I'm sorry to bother you again, but you never told me what the other smartest person in North Dakota has done for amateur hockey?

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Well my good fellow, I am quite regretful of my improper use of the language in my earlier posts. Soohockey has coached countless youth's not only on the game but also life. He has donated time and money to making the hockey rink a better place and is undoubtedly a factor in our fair city's dominance over the rest of the state. He also buys gifts for the less fortunate during the Christmas season. Truly a great individual.

  7. I'm not going to argue anymore.  This is stupid.  Anything I say is looked at as stupid simply because I come from Minot.  You and soohockey are almighty hockey gods who know everything.  Ben McClean sucks, Ty Stahl sucks, Minot hockey sucks, west region teams shouldn't be allowed in the tournament, hell, lets just make it the Grand Forks classic.  Red River and Central play a three game series for the state title, because all other teams suck.  We could include Fargo south, but they have no goaltending, so we better just make it Red River and Central.

PS:  Minot beat Grafton 5-1, so I don't know if you should allow Grafton into the first annual "WE KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT EVERYTHING TOURNAMENT FOR HOCKEY SUPREMACY!!!!!"

I say Red River wins the series....2-1

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Wilbur thats the first logical idea youve had all night. And thanks for fianlly noticing how much myself and soohockey know about the game, I hate to boast but we are quite knowledgeable in many different areas of life.

  8. If you look closely, I never said a darn thing referring to Ben McClean in those quotes....

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR NORTH DAKOTA HOCKEY!!!!! :silly:

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Wilbur not everything revolves around you, that comment wasnt aimed at you tough guy.

  9. You're right, 10 of the last 15. 9 of the last 14...

    1991 - Grafton

    1992 - Minot

    1993 - Central

    1994 - South

    1995 - Central

    1996 - Red River

    1997 - Red River

    1998 - Red River

    1999 - South

    2000 - Red River

    2001 - Red River

    2002 - Grafton

    2003 - Central

    2004 - Central

Prior to Central winning the last two, GF schools had won 7 and non-GF schools 5 from 1991 till 2002. That to me looks like the rest of the state has made great strides to narrow the gap. I believe that has to be the first ever 12 year span in which less than 8 titles were won by GF schools, right? If Central or Red River should happen to win the tournament this year I will be forced to eat my words, but don't be surprised this year marks the beginning of a new era in ND hockey. Within the next 10 years I could easily see South win 5 state championships. Red River, Central, and Grafton could split the other 5.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

The day South wins 5 titles in 10 years will be a clod day in hell. Its only taken them 40 years to win 2 so why not 5 in the next 10 years. They cant even win when they have the lead with 47 seconds left, and this year theyre arent even going to make the final. Fargo South isnt in Grand Forks, therefore they wont win more than once or maybe twice a decade.

  10. Another year, another Friday afternoon replay of the WDA tournament. How many years of this will it take before all of you who said the WDA teams were different this year realize that they cant hold a candle to the teams in the EDC. And to all of you who laughed at the prediction someone made of an all GF final, you are going to be quite suprised come tomorrow night.

  11. can a team pack it in any faster tahn minot did today? probably not.  even with a 2 goal lead that they werent able to hold in the first period, the looked just terrible.  how can a team come in as the #1 seed and be as crappy as they were? PS-I wonder how many minot kids had to change breezers between the 2nd and 3rd periods?

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Basically Minot blows. They were a bunch of hot heads who didnt know what to do when they played a team that had more than one line that can skate forwards and backwards and stop both ways. Also, real smart of them to keep getting dumb penalties down by 4 goals, shows a lot of discipline.

  12. There are a number of very good goaltenders in the state, and he would be one of them. This whole conversation started because it was stated he would start for any other team except South in the state, and that is simply not true.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Well I'm not the one who said that, although I do think it is 100% true.

  13. The stats do speak for themselves as it relates directly to who he played . He did have a nice game against Minot as I was there. I think he had somewhere in the 30's in that game.I think almost half of his total came in the Minot game. However, 1 save against Shanley, does not prove him a top goaltender in the state.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

If a goalie faces 100 shots, and stops 98 of them, I would have to say he's doing something right. You can not fault him for playing on the same team as another very solid goaltender who is a senior.

  14. Not Laducer, anybody but that overweight biased idiot. :silly:

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yeah he's bad because he's overweight and from Grand Forks. He's one of the most experienced refs in the state and everyone who isnt from Grand Forks can keep using him for the reason their teams never win. I dont know who you are but maybe you should look in the mirror and ask yourself if calling someone overweight really makes you feel better about yourself. I guess if I was from somewhere besides GF I might have to call other people fat to make up for the fact that almost every year my team gets worked by one of the GF schools. Grow up.

  15. Marto is very worthy of the award, and without question, Charlie Bair would not have the points he has had if his team played in the east. However, you can't blame Charlie for the fact the east teams play Minnesota teams rather than west teams. He is only the second player in ND history to score 50+ goals. Every team knew they had to stop him and they still could not contain him. Minot was down 3-1 to Mandan early in the year. Charlie would be welcome by any coach to play on their team in a heartbeat. He is a very special and deserving player of this award. Sam Aide is also very deserving. Remember, this is a individual award in a team sport. No one player in the state did more for their team than what Charlie did for Mandan. Nobody!

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

How are Mandan's practices going this week......Oh wait, they're done.

  16. I find it interesting you rate him so high. Out of the few games he played in, only two of the games were against above .500 teams of which he lost one and tied the other.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Although he has only played 8 games, his stats, 97.6% Save Pct. and a GAA of under .4 speak for themselves.

  17. Marto is hands down Mr. Hockey. The teams he plays every game are three times better than the teams any kid from the west plays, with the exception of Minot and maybe Bismarck. Players will get more points when they play more bad teams and bad goaltenders. Marto lifts Central to a level that they would be nowhere near without him. He makes teams change their gameplans and Central would not be in the state tournament without him.

  18. To all of you who say Ben Mclean is the best goalie in the state, I suggest you watch a few games and maybe you will see that he rarely faces a shot from inside the circles and his stats are still in no way superior to many other goalies in the state. He's not a bad goalie but to put him at the top of the state is a big strech. I would take about 3 goalies in the east region alone over him.
