everyt team at state will overwelm the bis high squad
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
your obviously from the east , we will see what happens at state
-
he is good but i disagree with you on that mclean is the number one goalie north dakota
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
mclean is not nearly as overrated as minots tyler stahl
-
what goalies would you talk over ben
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
mclean is good and also overrated i would also take a number of goalies over him
-
we should have stuck with ]layne sedevie [/SIZE]!!!!!!!!!!!
-
More than likely Minot will not make it through 3 east teams to win state. If Red river plays up to their potential they should win state, but South should be tough and Grafton. Bismarck high will end up not doin much since Aide is done.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Minot more then likley will beat east teams and red river grafton and south will be very tough but i would not count BHS out of the picture
-
what about Justin Welk from Fargo North? isnt he supposed to be pretty solid
-
The best goalies I've seen in the state this year include:
Tyler Stahl-Minot
Ben Mclean-South
Tony Kringstad-Grafton
Nick Dehne-Century
Kelvin Shane-Central
Overall I'd have to say that the goaltending has been pretty solid around the state this season, every team had pretty consistent goaltending.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Dehne? he hasnt impressed me
-
i see repeat of 92' in minot winning
-
Why would you ask who the bad ones are if you didn't think they would get ripped on?
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
discard the bad part, who is the top netminder in the state ? stahl, olsen , mclean , bruce???
-
Why would you want to start a post like this and possibly rip on a high school kid?
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
i want to know who some of the top netminders are and its not like no body rips on anyone on here anyway so what does it matter
-
i havent seen many of the high school goaltenders this year
-
a reality check for everyone,i myself being from the east would like east teams to win but most people on these forums are arrogant naive or in denial west teams have an equal shot this year
-
Even if the West teams had the refs on their side they'd still lose.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
really thats interesting because BHS and MINOT have to lose to an east team mind you BHS has not played a home game against an east team yet so take that to the bank
-
Brandt is not a bad goalie parise is not a bad goalie but PHIL is the most capable goaltender and has the most potential also someone said somethign about getting a goalie with size ?? size is nothing it is all about talent if you stop the puck then you stop the puck simple as that no questions asked

Aide will be ready for state, Bina took him out as a precautionary, because bismarck already made state. He could of played if he had too, but no reason. On a side note, in the 2 games he did play he scored 4 goals and have 5 assists for 9 points to lead the west region tourny, not bad for 2 games played. He deserves more credit from the eastern people on this site than he is getting.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Aide went to the doctor today for an MRI and he is done and his season is over he will not be suiting up under any conditions the kid has alot of road ahead of him and to try and do the impossible and ruin some future oppurtunities is probably out of the picture
poor kid doesnt get to play in the state tounry when BHS in my mind has a shot at state
but who knows what could happen
-
how about no brandt and no parise give them both the boot and give phil the start every night

Odds of favorites to win the 2005 ND State Championship:
1. Fargo South. Clearly the class of this years class.
2. Grafton/PR. Beat South early and took them to 2OT tonight. Also historically the greatest overachievers at the state tourney.
3. Minot. Only west team ever to win state. If Dean Blaise had stayed there they would have a bunch by now.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
just some quick info being from grand forks i would like to see rr or gfc win the title your predictions could be accurate but i do beleive minot has a better chance then both FS and GPR mind you BHS beat south and blew grafton out of the water Also Red river had a strong showing against minot in minot so dont count anyone out
-
Scores from the West:
Williston 5 Mandan 3
Century 4 Hazen/Beulah 3 OT
Minot 5 Bismarck 1
That sets up next weeks state tounry:
Minot vs. Central
Grafton vs. Williston
Bismarck vs. Red River
South vs. Bismarck Century
It was a pretty good day of hockey at the West Region tourny. The Minot-Bismarck game was a whole lot closer than the 5-1 score. Minot only had a 2-1 lead after two periods. The atmosphere throughout the entire day was outstanding. I couldn't believe the crowd for the Century/HB game, it seemed louder than the Ralph at times....
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
the game would have been an entirley different storey if bis high would have had healthy roster
