  1. Well ladies,

This is the last post for X2thez. I will be leaving the great town of Grafton and moving to Rio de Janeiro, I hope to be able to help stop the worlds illegal drug rings at their source, but I hope to be back to vote in the 2008 election. I'm sad to say that i'm giving up the shop to my cousin from Grand Forks recent graduate of Red River. I hope this will give him a good start as he is coming off a long and painful re-hab stint ( cocaine, yes it is still a big problem).

The thing I'm going to miss the most is going out for a brandy and crumpets after our home wins.

Your knowledge and insight on this forum will be greatly missed..

  2. He must have really said some mean things about Wurdens mom to get him to take a big wack at him after Wurden just won the game 4-0. It takes a big man to throw a slash after the game and then skate behind a line of his own players for protection.

I personally think the player who was slashed made it look a lot worse than it actually was. The way he layed on the ice and flailed about you'd think someone had shot him. Last time i checked, you dont need your wrist to skate or at least stand. With no damage done to his wrist and to be able to come back and play right away... i think we have a little bit of a toughness issue or lack of.

  3. I'm VERY surprised to hear klenow is going to the Jets (if what you say is true). It will be interesting to see how fits in with the Jets, I think the game might be a little bit to quick for him... i maybe wrong, but this is what I gathered in the one time I've seen him and the one time i've seen the Jets play.

I'm just wondering if Klenow has some family ties with someone in the jets organization or is close friends with someone because i don't understand how they can expect him to succeed against NAHL teams when hes been struggling against high school teams. If North only played Shanley and Wahpeton once like most of the other EDC teams because those games have to have a huge impact on the few points his picked up.

  4. Another reason GPR looked so good in the 3rd period is because Laducer (ref) likes to show he is the man and 2 of Central's better players spent most of the period in the box with 10 minute misconducts - Slominski and Greicar. Slominski was in for the entire 10 minutes and Greicar was put in with a few minutes left in the period.

What did they get misconducts for?

  5. For the record, in my post I was responding the the comment by South4life that stated, "Who were the great Seniors that played for South when Galt was a sophomore. I can't remember." In my trip down memory lane I did not restrict myself to the question and focus only on defensemen but simply listed the South players from that team, regardless of position and year in school, who were in the top 25 for scoring at the end of the season. Asssuming he is a South fan I figured that South4life would like to see all of those names and statistics and it would help to restore the memory of that season and create warm feelings of nostalgia. Mauch was a senior forward, Weisgarber a sophomore forward, Kankelfritz a junior forward, and Dalbey a junior forward. Only Brehmer (a senior) and Luecke (a junior) were defensemen. Other senior defensemen included: Eric Andersen (senior), John Macintosh (senior), Ross Miller (senior), and Joe Striegel (senior). This information was taken from "Center Ice: A Preview of Hockey in North Dakota 2003-2004" Ray Maloney editor.

My role in this conversation is simply to provide the names of the players on the team when Galt was a sophomore and not share any opinions on how good he was at that time or any other evaluative activity.

I believe Kankelfritz was a senior that year as well.

  6. Jamestown would only be hard to play at if you are from Wahpeton. It's humorous to say that the 2nd worst team in the edc year in and year out would be the hardest place to play. Oh, but they do have a killer sax player, which does make it real tough to come out with a W, you damn fool.

Second worst team in the EDC year in and year out. Forgetting about Shanley are we? I agree that Jamestown is a tough place to play. I don't know why but it always seems like games are much closer than they should be when they are played in Jamestown. Take Jamestown's upset over Grafton as an example.

  7. Alex Simonsin is moving into the RR district and is thinking about playing for RR. Central's hockey team looks to be going downhill in the next couple of years. Tyler Klein of Fargo North might come to RR I heard if he doesn't elect to play juniors. Even if he doesn't play juniors I don't know if he would move up to Grand Forks to play hockey for Red River. Fargo North's program doesn't look like it is going to be good at all either next year. I don't know who Tyler Klein would have for support if he stayed at Fargo North. If Red River were to get these two, they would be a dominant force if no one decides to move onto the junior level. I don't think we should call this recruiting. Do you think a Matt Malm would try and get other players from other schools when RR is good year in and year out? Probably not.

Why would someone pick him up to play juniors. He has two points in five games, and both of those points came against Wahpeton in their first game of the season.

  8. I'm a south hockey supporter, but this is just wrong. The Forum had the shots at 84 for the Bruins, and yes Weisgarber and Campbell both had points in the third period. I hope Wilson gets some serious heat for this. IMO, this situation is the coaches fault, not the players. Do you really expect a player not to shoot at a wide open net? It's the coaches responsibility to keep his best players off the ice in situations like this. Not just for Wahpeton's sake, but what if Weisgarber or Gault got hurt the third?

Stupid move my Wilson and I hope he gets hammered by the media for it. :silly:

Actually it was the 26th goal. The top two lines played for the first 5 minutes of the third period and they started rolling four lines towards the end of the first period. What else do you want them to do. Maybe Wahp should drop down to Junior Gold until they can put together a respectable program.

  9. I feel for wahpeton. Those kids I'm sure worked their tails off tonight only to be absolutely destroyed. It's too bad South had to run up the score on them all the way to 26 though. You would think south could do something to lighten up. I'm sure they tried but come on 26-0.

Apparently South's top two lines didn't play in the third period. That being said, Wahps lucky it was only 26..

  10. I think Kringstad is a good. He has only gotten better every year which is shown by off season work outs and camps. Be nice to see him play somewhere after High School. Anyone thing he has a chance of doing it?

I think Kringstad is a good, too. I don't thing he'll have a chance, he gives up way too many rebounds.

  11. I was at the RR/Crookston game. Crookstons goalie played well. Most of RR's shots were from out high. Not one of RR's best showings. Give credit to Crookston for putting up a fight.

We should give credit to Red River for putting up a fight too. Is Indus in Crookston's section? I think they won it last year...

  12. In the game tonight, Mihulka was called for a penalty. 10 seconds after he stepped out of the box and onto the ice, he was called for another one. Also, can you whine a little bit more about how much the refs love GF teams? Really, can you? I'm not sure I've heard someone complain about as much stuff and look for excuses as much as you have.

How can you honestly tell yourself that GF refs don't favor GF teams and try to give them the best opportunities to win the game? Also, how am i looking for excuses if south won? If Red River had won the game then it would be an excuse. Come on buddy, use your head.

  13. The refs did all they could to help Red River get back in it but unfortunetly were unsuccessful. A couple of blatant icings waved off and a few offsides that weren't called. Also, do the refs have some sort of agreement with Red River to never call a penalty on Mihulka. I've never seen a player trip, slash, hold, and hook so much without getting called in my life. Especially when he got into a scrum with a South kid after the whistle but instead of taking Mihulka they took a Red River player who didn't even do anything and the South kid. However, I do think Red River played their absolute best and caught South on what seemed to be an off night. Maybe they were a little sluggish because of not being able to skate because of the blizzard and school cancelations.

  14. You honestly think LaDoucer will be good enough to go play juniors after only his sophmore year, maybe some joke junior B team but nothing more. LaDoucer is a decent defensemen but not that good. Personally I think Galbreath is the better of the two. And also, GPR's top line and South's top line are by far the best in the state. If the Mihulka line is third best, they are aways behind the top two.

SHANLEY #1 IN THE EDC.... WHAT??
