  1. They aren't held to the same passing grades as other students at the med school. My brother in-law told me this when he attended there. But their degree can be used off of the reservations. So would you want a doctor who passed his courses with a good grade or even a passing grade, or a doctor who failed but still got a degree because they were Native American.

I know in the past, and I think it's still the same, certain programs hold a couple spots for Native Americans, even if they have lower grades to qualify, and could potentially take someone's spot who deserves the spot. If that's not racism, what is?

  2. Why is it that the folks that preach "diversity" and "inclusion" come from organizations that have segregating and isolating names?

For example: American Indian Student Services.

Student services just for American Indians? That doesn't seem very diverse or inclusive.

I agree completely and have wondered the same thing. What they should do is have a Native American Student club, not a special Dept paid for by the state.

  3. White television and awards have celebrated achievements of non-minorities for generations. It's only been in my lifetime that the achievements of all but a minuscule number of minorities have been been recognized. Hopefully, in my lifetime, it won't be necessary to continue to compartmentalize groups.

Yes hopefully. I believe in an effort to create equality they've created racism.

  4. Something that has been bothering me for quite a long time in regard to minorities and equality, etc, is TV programs like BT black television or Hispanic awards or black awards. What if there was a television channel called WT white television or white awards? OMG, it would be considered racist or worse. It would not be allowed! But why not? How can it be okay for minorities to have these things? Equality is equality!

  5. Maybe UND should have a satellite campus for Native Americans only, then Native Americans won't have to see anyone who has a different culture, opinion, religion, tradition, etc. And at that campus make a no logo rule so they won't enroll any Native Americans who don't conform to the anti-nickname Native Americans' opinions and politics.

I'm tired of their complaining! Anti-nickname Native Americans will never be happy as I think it's obvious they hate Caucasian Americans. I wonder if Native Americans have to do diversity training to understand and accept Caucasian American's culture, beliefs, traditions, etc.

  6. How about Warriors (but I'm sure someone would object).

    Warrior

    noun

    1.

a person engaged or experienced in warfare; soldier.

    2.

a person who shows or has shown great vigor, courage, or aggressiveness, as in politics or athletics.

  7. did u guys press 1 2 or 3?

i pressd 2 and the lady was retarded lol... idk

she told me the syndication means its not available for sale and that means its going to be showed on tape delay...

again this lady didnt really have a clue i think... sounded stoned lol.... what they say to u guys?

I pressed "3" and the guy seemed to know what was going on and was really nice.

  8. That refreshes things. They ended up breaking to the Sioux game for this in the midwest. During period brakes they would go back to the longest lacrosse game in NCAA history. This is not an exaggeration it was literally the longest in history.

Oh, I know, I thought I was going to go nuts! (I hate lacrosse now). And then it ended up being the worst ending to a game ever with 7 seconds left. Uggggg! I was already celebrating that we had won! :'(

Also, I just called ESPN and the person I talked to said they have been receiving many calls about this game and that they are reviewing it. So please call, like the person previously said who put the number on.

  9. Agreed. My original quote was from the second intermission interview with the RAE Director. I am "old school" about being a hockey fan. The student section back in my day (80/82) was a raucous riot, and teams were most certainly intimidated by competing in that atmosphere. And, while there may have been some adults and kids in the arena, I think that most considered the student section to be one of the best assets of the team. It was truly a home-ice advantage. Yes, RAE has some of that advantage left, but your comment about the "social event" is duly noted. My first time in the new arena, just a couple years ago, showed me that the crowd in GF has tamed down quite a bit, and I thought the student section was pretty mild compared to the Farce years. And yet, admittedly I can understand the University not wanting to broadcast a game where "F*ck the Gophers" is clearly audible for fifteen minutes, to the whole country. So it is a double edged sword. Perhaps a good, old fashioned "Gophers suck" cheer instead? :D

I agree, they should chant "Gophers Suck" like it has been chanted forever in the past! But now what in the heck is with the rule: "Cheer for your team, not against your opponent." That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!! They are really trying to ruin the home team advantage. I think they better revise the rule list and rephrase it. It's a hockey game!! Go Sioux!

  10. Is that a bad thing? I like the fact that Hakstol & Co. are willing to return the favor and play a series at there home rinks after a team comes and visits us. But UND seems to always return the favor to the non-conference opponent that comes and plays against the Sioux @ the REA.

Much better than Golden Halos to the East of us who don't play a nonconference game outside of there arena(not counting the MSU, Michigan games they play away every other year).

And didn't they even refuse to play Bemidji at their rink? I thought that was rude, especially with it being a team from their favorite state.

  11. I couldn't believe it when I heard him say that either. What a numbskull. Oh well, I don't mind at all that he's not supporting the Sioux this year. It's nice not to have the target on our backs.
