  1. Although the loss stings very much, we played well and thats all I can ask. It seemed we had you guys despite the pipe shots and the disallowed goal (rightfully so IMO). Your goalie was tremendous and stopped us on countless number of very high quality scoring chances. It was nice to see a good turnout by Sioux fans, it always helps the atmosphere, which I thought was outstanding despite the low attendance numbers. I know the students probaly had a hard time justifying spending $80 on tickets for 2 games which was roughly the same cost as a student season ticket. And yes the basketball team affected ticket sales some, however, I was a bit surprised and dissapointed in the total turnout. On a positive note, the fans who did show up made it a very loud environment. Anyways, good luck in the FF in two weeks.

    Thanks Badger fan.

Division I hockey has been a passion of mine for 40 years and I've seen how often puck luck plays a role in the one-and-done tournament format. Over time, these things average out. It stings now, but the Badgers will be the recipient, again, of some puck luck that produces a favorable outcome just like the Sioux will again be on the short end. That's the game of hockey.

  2. Joe Gleason is the real deal. Saw him play the last two night against Elk River and Eden Prairie. Blazing speed, excellent puck handling skills and great ice vision. Not that big physically, but his speed will get him out of trouble. A great offensive defenseman that can really turn on the jets - two strides and he's at top speed.

  3. North Dakota has a rich heritage that includes the influences of our Indian population from the beginning of their existence to the mix of pioneers and settlers that came later. I think we can respectfully add to the mix the pioneers and settlers who battled great hardship in the early years on the plains and had to fight the elements just to exist. Let's add a pioneer and a settler to our existing Indian mascot and create a mixture of mascots that truly represents our heritage. All of our ancestors fought the elements to tame this land. We are all Dakotans (Indians, settlers and pioneers) and we can call ourselves the "Fighting Dakotans".

  4. I know you hear some fans say that some losses are good. Maybe this is one of those, although I'd rather see the boys in green skating with the trophy.

Coming out of the Gopher game, what do you see the Sioux need to emphasize, watch film on or practice for the upcoming weekend, and hopefully the Frozen 4?

If the Sioux meet the Gophers in the West Regionals, that will be the 4th match-up this season. No one would expect either team to beat the other team four times this season. So, if we are going to have a loss to the Gophers this season, losing the Broadmoor last night is the one that does the least amount of damage. From that standpoint, it was a good loss. The Sioux will be ready!!!
