They do produce a lot of talent, but so do other areas. I would be shocked to find out that we just didn't win a battle on a guy like Clark. That happens. I know we were in on him.

Shaugs, I'm not sure we offered. I just don't believe we're dropping simply because Minnesota keeps a from Edina in the cities.

Has anyone acquired any additional detail on the Shaugs situation? It’s clear him and the UND coaching staff had a relationship and there was mutual interest. But the Minnesota YHH podcast said the UMD coaching staff were a bit surprised to secure him after just one call once the commitment period opened.

Wonder if the relationship soured, or if there was a difference in scholarship money offered? Or if he just ended up preferring UMD..

All the beat writers together. Jess Myers mentions that an unnamed Big Ten program had a prized transfer coming who was left off the roster after the team required the vaccine.

Brad thinks Denver is the number #1 team in the country. I'll have a hit of whatever he's smoking...

Any hypotheses as to which program and/or which player?

Riley Tufte and Dylan Samberg are the only blue chips UMD has landed recently and they are both busts. They should not be ranked second.

Calling Samberg a bust is a bit silly. He’s still tracking to be a top 4 D.

Pionk, Iafallo, Jackson Cates, Richards, and Kuhlman are a few names that come to mind as recent undrafted Bulldogs to play in the NHL.

I said it a year or two ago…just wait the Big10 conference will end up tops. YHH is reporting J Clark and O Moore will go big10 route too.

The tweet said Jimmy Clark is also considering UMD.

But the Big Ten has been bringing in top individual talent the last few years and has nothing to show for it on the national stage. The Big Ten is not a hard-nosed, defensive minded league like the NCHC. The NCHC is clearly the better league top to bottom and develops well-rounded players. So until proven wrong, I don’t see the Big Ten usurping the NCHC

Maybe Duluth has truly arrived and can now offer players early then yank the offer if they don't develop as expected. We've been doing it for as long as anyone else. I admittedly don't pay any attention to their recruiting but can't imagine they've done it much if ever.

They recently did it with Dev McCabe and Jake Hale
