They ARE working on it. I just called somebody who knows and they said they know it's down and they are working on it.
The funny part is that the phone number is posted on a website but the guy sounded mad that I called.
That being said, nobody else should call because we'll just piss them off and maybe they'll stop trying to fix it.

possible. I know most charter areas have a "main street" channel but they only show hockey in their designated areas.
Mansucko will only show their games or when they play St Cloud or Bemidji..same with the other two teams. Duluth sometimes will if WDIO doesn't show them but only when they play St Cloud, Mankato, or Bemidji.

uhhhh, the sioux have only been division 1 in hockey so thats why. are you serious? its very rare for d-1 schools to ply d-2 schools in sports as it doesnt do a damn thing for a d-1 school to beat up on a d-2 schools. unless its a very special ocasion. in the near future they will play as the sioux will be going division 1 in all sports....
Nooooooo kidding? The reason I asked that is all of the Local Twin city TV News Shows stated that the Gophers would only play the Sioux in Men's and Women's hockey. It is pretty obvious that hockey is the only D-1 sport at UND at this time. However the Sioux football team may be able to beat the Gopher's football team.

Born and raised in Grand Forks. Played with hockey at Elks Park growing up with a few former Sioux and Denver Pioneers players and coached at Elks Park as well. Two of the kids I coached played for the Sioux on the 2000 Championship Team. I now live in the Twin Cites.
What is the deal with the Gophers will only play the SIOUX in hockey?

Game is coming in clear on Internet. Sweeny keeps saying the game is on ESPNU however ECU is playing NC ST in DI Football. Is the game on tape delay on ESPNU?

i am just responding to several posts at once. I noticed you just stated that somethings are not worth fighting over, for me the nickname triggers offensive behavior. intentional or not. and it should be corrected. i even went as far as talking to some of those who are more involved with the university and when I mentioned perhaps since we use the nickname, to have requirements that all students must take Indian Studies courses. I was laughed at. But I don't want to get into that. I really didn't want to get into any of this but reading comments here and on all the boards that were suggested, I couldn't help but post that lengthy but very summarized thread above.
i do contribute to many things outside of native american based programs, etc, but i do feel drawn to help the people who've helped me and that i care for on a more personal level. Wouldn't you want to contribute to your family? Because that's who the people are from the band I belong to, my family. Blood or not. They are my family. And I will try to protect them the best that I can.
I never said Sioux-cia is a liar. I just said I don't know if I am certain that it was Mr. LaPointe. But I never said he didn't do it either. Also, I didn't say anyone who is pro-nickname is immature. I said I wanted to see more maturity from some people. Such as the guy who basically said, 'my dad said this, therefore he is correct.' Claiming to have made a research paper. I have many friends and family that are pro-nickname. I don't call them immature for that reason. (though some are immature for other reasons *smiles*) A person's opinion on this particular matter is not going to deter me from maintaining a friendship with them unless they act in a way that I can no longer associate with them. I have said it before, I can understand the loyalty to the name as a sports fan I suppose. But once again, it was stated that somethings are not worth fighting for. So let it go. Embrace a name that isn't so offensive to a person's race and culture.
anyway i really am tired of this. I wish this would all end. But it won't rest until the nickname is changed unfortunately, regardless of how I feel, even if I choose to support it once again, the issue will remain.

Not to come out on the offence, but are you saying my dad is a liar? He taught at the UND for more than 30 years. He was a professor in the school of medicine. When it comes to something going on at the University during his tenure I believe he knew what he was talking about. When I said the Native American students went to school fro free at UND I was refering to scholarships they received. As far as my resarch paper being an opinion paper, isn't that what a research paper is? The opinion of the person who wrote it and researched it? Sure it is pro SIOUX logo that has been the tradition at UND since the 1930's and a way to honor and pay tribute to the great warrior Nation of the Dakota Sioux Tribes that once dominated the region. I never intended nor do I beleive UND ever intended to be "hostile or abusive" to Native Americans with my paper. You say that your family is of mixed heritage, so is mine. By keeping the Sioux name and logo UND carries on the tradition of a great Native American Nation. Do you want that taken away? If we forget where we came from we have no way to learn from our mistakes and grow?
Also like you undsportsfan I have a life away from this message board. I spend 45 to 50 hours a week working and attending school another 4 hours a week. So that my friend is why it has taken me awhile to respond to your comments on my paper.

I fully expect the video feed to be up and running. It normally starts broadcasting about 30 minutes to an hour before the puck drops. If you try the link when the feed is up, it will take you right to a pregame video. If you try the feed when it's down, like you have, it asks for a password, etc.
Start trying tomorrow night about an hour before game time and you should be okay.

ah, the gophers were in the frozen four last year. We beat them 4-2.

I think Crosby 87 is referring to the ESPNU schedule.
ESPN takes over hockey during the NCAA Regionals. The games are on ESPNU and ESPN 2 with the championship on ESPN. If you check out FOXSPORTS.COM they have the T-Wolves on followed by the SIOUX Game with the Goophers on tape delay.

It has been awhile since I have been back to to Forx. Where is a good bar to go out and drink before and after the game? I may have my son with before the game so is the South Gate still a good place to go? Or is the El Roco better?

Didn't see much of the game as it put me to sleep. I was trying to get the score up date on WCCO and they gave all the B-Ball scores and a Twins update before getting to the Goofer's losing to the BADgers. Of course they said this game doen't mean anything and they will be in the NCAA's next week.
Nothing new there.
I was wondering why it took them so long to get to the story on the hockey team since Minnesota is suppose to be "The State of Hockey". I have lived in the Twin Cities for over 12 years now and the coverage of high school, college and pro hockey is brutal. WDAZ has more hockey info in one week than the media in the Twin Cites has in the past 12 years. If it wasn't that I can make 3 times the income down here I would move back to GFND in a heart beat.

But when you hook your laptop (or any computer) up to a standard TV it looks like crap (your monitor has a better resolution). So if you were to get an HDTV the computer screen would look ten times better to watch the webcast.
I wouldn't say crap. Using a Laptop is a cheap alternative to driving around the country to watch the games in person or adding another dish to the side of the house at this time. You see the whole idea is to get the new TV. find out the pcture isn't much better then before and then get the new dish that picks up FSSN. Alos with the new PS3 coming out next fall EA Sports NHL hockey will be awesome on a giant TV.

Ah...not an expert on the HDTVs, but I believe that the channel has to play it in HD for it to work on HDTV. Computer webcasts are definitely not HDTV. Not to burst your bubble or anything, but your recent discovery is rather old news. The larger the screen, the worse the resolution will be, so I don't think the HDTV would make it any better. With that being said, I'm all for guys getting the toys they like, so don't tell your wife anything different, and just play dumb after you already get the TV.
You are right about the game needing to be brodcast in HD. My wife does not know this and I didn't get the the name Snake for being totally honest about everthing. Especialy when means I can go from a 36" TV to a 65" TV. You know "boys need toys" !!

So if the BC/Miami game isn't done at 5:00 will they cut to the Sioux/ Gophers or tape delay the Sioux Gophers? Anyone have any thoughts as to what the geniuses at ESPN will do?
