  1. They were both wrong, but Blood was more wrong.

In the future we will be talking about stuff like this with SCSU or UMD fans. As for UM-TC ? Penn State, maybe...... (Assuming the schools that kick their A$$ on a regular basis in the major sports, like Wisco or Michigan have for the last 40 years, will soon dominate them in hockey and won't care enough to want to fight any of them)

  2. I wholeheartedly agree... it speaks to the hypocrisy of the NC$$. if they really don't want alcohol at their events, why is it allowed in the suites?? Ive never really understood that one. And as to the all or nothing, definately all :D

The suites are not considered part of the arena (& thus under NC$$ control for this event) because they are leased on a yearly basis, not rented on a per event basis like a seat is.

  3. Any chance someone could give me a quick--one paragraph--update on what's going on with the name right now? I thought it was over but it seems to be revived?

Also, what was holding them back that made the school decide to drop the issue? And what has revived it to think that the school can still hold onto it?

    Thanks.

Sure - The NCAA thinks Native American nicknames are hostile & abusive - unless you bribe the right leaders. So, Sioux is wrong (i.e: no bribe), Seminole is OK (i.e. acceptable bribe).

    Hope this helps. :)

  4. We did just fine under the old NCAA format.

I would actually prefer the NCAA tournament to be run like the WJC with a round robin.

    Imagine this set up

    Pool A

    WCHA regular season champ

    CCHA playoff champ

    ECAC regular season champ

    Hockey East Playoff champ

    At large bid

    Pool B

    WCHA playoff Champ

    CCHA regualr season champ

    ECAC palyoff champ

    Hockey East regular season champ

    At large bid

Each team gets four round robin games played over 2 weeks

    Ties settled by goal differential

unlike the WJC, we still keep the frozen 4 where:

    2nd place B plays 1st place A

    2nd place A plays 1st place B

There would most likely be more than 2 at large bids, because we will see dual winners.

We have more hockey games this way and have at least 10 teams make it.

We no longer have a regional format and a situation where one and done. You could have multiple host cities for the round robin play.

Did the Atlantic Hockey Association disband and not tell anyone? If so, can Holy Cross become the 12th WCHA team?

  5. there have been many many threads and posts on this issue. oh well. it makes a difference because the top seed should usually get the afternoon game to get more rest for saturday title game rewarding you for beig the top seed but if the gophers make it to the final 5. then if they happen to win the play in game that thursday and all other seeds win like they are suppose to then the sioux and gophers would play friday night to ensure sold out arena blah blah blah, its a money thing.

Actually, the #1 seed would normally get the Friday night game because in years past the Friday afternoon game wasn
