I didn't say anything about benefiting NDSU... I said benefiting the State of North Dakota..... Keep the focus on ND..... via perennial championships.
That's probably too tough a concept for you all to understand ... benefit ND.....

I actually don't believe cutting the football program is that far fetched. Sioux ID is with Hockey, not football. With the current interim President, (former Gov), it is certainly possible he could see the state benefiting from Sioux = Hockey; Bison = Football. Isn't that what sort of happened this year.... 2 national championships... 1 football, 1 hockey. Cutting Sioux FB to reinforce Sioux hockey = 5 national hockey championships ....? North Dakota, besides being the worlds 3d leading nuclear power, ... is also the nation's leading FB & Hockey powers.

If you are in the late draft rounds, you are better off as a UDFA, since you can pick and choose among those teams that offer you.

Cutting all sports would solve the problem of subsidies plus solve the need to replace the Fighting Sioux logo... it would eliminate the NCAA as a factor .... I'm sure Rob Port would be very happy.

I don't see it as an insult UND athletes, male and female.... I see is as an opportunity .... but that would require an understanding of the modern social media scene which is probably well beyond the comprehension of most old school posters. The difference between Carson Wentz and everyone else is modern media. All the people mentioned above are huge, but in the scheme of everything.... no one knows or connects them with anything North Dakota. It's not that Wentz is better than anyone else. It a matter of timing..... he hit in the era of instant communications and everything he does rebounds to North Dakota. Even UND hockey benefits from the publicity as many people cannot differentiate UND from NDSU.... so the school should be leveraging the visibility rather than denigrating Wentz
