After Saturday's game, I expect to see the stick salute (AKA CoS).

Casey Johnson scores a goal this afternoon!

Orlando would be great!
Warm, direct flights, beaches close, Disney World, Universal, SeaWorld, Kennedy Space Center, and of course, hockey.

Just please don't get rid of the interlocking ND logo. We need that logo, now more than ever.

With Boeser, Jost, Gersich, Poolman, Poganski, Gardner, Johnson, and company, I'll have none of that split talk. I go into each weekend thinking we are going to sweep. Let's remember who we are! Raise #9!

I think we will see a healthy and hungry Boeser have a huge weekend. He is going to let everyone know he's back!!

The logo is so very lame. The ND part of the logo is awful. I hate the stupid little triangular appendages on the N. I hope we at least keep the traditional interlocking ND logo.

Anyone else think that we need to add one more forward before the start of the season?
Right now we are rolling with:
Juniors (3): Poganski, Simonson, Olson
Sophomores (6): Boeser, Gersich, Gardner, Janatuinen, Wilkie, Gornall
Freshmen (5): Jost, Hoff, Bowen, Yon, Smith
Two extra forwards is pretty light, especially with a lot of underclassmen, and interchangeable players in the bottom 6.
My friend does not think they will be adding anyone.

There may be hope that at least we keep our interlocking ND logo. This appeared in the aroUND post. The tradition continues.

Agree 100%. Another interesting one (not a soph however) is Pogo. There were time last year he really stuck out. Something many people forget is that these guys are young and (most) will continue to develop and get better year over year.
Yes, I also expect Poganski to be a team star. I have been thinking about what a Boeser, Schmaltz, and yes, Poganski line might be like. Puck possession!

It will be interesting to see which sophomores really make a jump from their freshmen year. I think the forwards Gersich, Janatuinen, Wilkie, and Gardner all have the potential to dazzle us next year. It's going to be another fun year!

A buddy of mine said Nick is waiting for us to decide the best four-year player question before he releases his decision. Says he wants our full attention.
Tell your buddy that it will be Nick, if he stays four years.

Game time is 5:00 Florida time. Perfect! Leave work, get home, turn on the TV, crack a beer, and watch the Sioux torture the Bulldogs. Maybe take a little swim during the first intermission. Then later on, watch the Huskies and the Pioneers beat each other up into 2 OTs, while our boys are resting.

At this point receiving 50+% of the vote is paramount at some stage to make this process looks even remotely legit.
Legitimate?
This process stopped being legitimate when North Dakota (no nickname) was stripped from the voting choices.

Go North Stars!

It is too bad we don't have "North Dakota" (no nickname as an option). The best alternate choice is "North Stars." North Dakota North Stars! It does roll off your tongue. And, it could be "Stars" for a short version. Too bad Minnesota is known as the "North Star" state. But then again, Grand Forks Red River High School is known as the Rough Riders.

Why is it so difficult to choose a nickname? I think this is why: Nicknames are silly, stupid, lame, passe`, and even politically incorrect. All animal names are lame. We aren't hawks! We are not weather phenomenon! Do we really need to use the nickname of a Grand Forks high school? Where does it say a school must have a nickname? We are North Dakota! We are proud hearty hard-working industrious intelligent good people. The interlocking ND is a great logo. We are North Dakota, period. No silly stupid lame nickname can top that! "North Dakota" has served us well for the last few years. Not having a nickname is classy. It does not diminish us. It elevates us. I wish we were not forced to have a nickname.

Orlando would be a great place for a destination game. It is warm and lots of things to do. Allegiant flies into the Orlando Sanford airport.
