SiouxFan100
Big fan of our bb teams though I do get frustrated at times. I try to enjoy the journey but fall short at times. I was hoping for better results this year for both our teams. Still will watch and still look forward to the games. Letās hope our teams win four this weekend!

Cincy, NM and UNCG are usually solid. UAB is good this year.Ā The majority of players at UND in the past 5-6 years have had UND as their only D1 offer, only a few guys have had multiple offers. So to get a guy like DAE who had a ton of solid offers coming in and still obviously has a ton of interest in the portal, he is above the normal level of talent that we can normally get to Grand Forks. Maybe it will be addition by subtraction but I have a hard time believing that. Best of luck to him. Ā

SWSiouxMN
So the Summit Tourney will be at the Sanford Pentagon and will have zero fans there. ND-fan
I just read Sather's statement in Grand Forks Herald I think he was kind of caught off guard by DAE decision but at least he communicated to fan base and where they were going from here forward. I think this was also learning experience for Sather too in that top recruits at division 1 level are different animal than he experienced at the division 2 level.Ā I hope in long run its both good for both parties but i do think it changes UND prospects for rest of season it takes away additional depth they were counting onĀ and now they are going to need to find consistent second option on the floor to score to take some heat off Rebraca .Ā DAE gave them scoring option plus for his size he did good job rebounding creating offense off that rebound and allowed them if wanted to go small still had good chance of controlling the ball off the boards. I think it is going to put more pressure on Sueker to pick up his outside game and he will definitely have to be able to play more minutes now.

My $.02 is there's no question DAE was having problems partly coming back from injury but this obviously wasn't the first time he threatened to transfer so it's hard to count on somebody that you know likely isn't all in. My guess is Sather was a little caught off guard because you could say it's a poor decision to quit the team mid year especially when you aren't using a year of eligibility. You can't tell me DAE is better off sitting on the couch rather than getting back to full strength and his old self before making a decision in the off season. He did not play well this year, obviously that was primarily due to the injury, and I would think he would want to get some more tape out there of him playing at 100% health if he did want to transfer because there are going to be way less opportunities for transfers this year because nobody is graduating. There might be a scholarship available but is there a role? No question he'll find a new home but the options will be limited this year. With that said, it's his life and his decision and if it's what he wants to do then good for him. Just know at every half decent program you have to continually earn your playing time and adversity is constant. He's a talented player and I just want to see him reach his potential on the floor whether that's at UND or somewhere else. I just get concerned about the kids that go to multiple high schools and multiple colleges. At some point, you have to take a stand.Ā You are right in that this puts UND in a precarious situation for the rest of the year like we saw last Saturday night at ORU but in some ways, it clarifies the situation for the rest of the players. Ethan Igbanugo and Seybian Sims couldn't be more important now. I like that Penoam stayed ready and I think he can give this team some minutes but Ihenacho better be ready to play on Friday because I don't want to see Penoam guarding Griesel. Gertatas really struggled the last two weekends but now he'll get an opportunity to keep playing and try to get back on track.Ā

SWSiouxMN
So lets run a hypothetical:Ā UND makes it through the rest of their conference schedule without postponments/cancellations due to COVID.Ā They have their BYE week the last week of the conference season (Feb 26-27).Ā Say this holds true, this would be 14 (or 15) days without playing a game between their last game and the Summit Tournament in Sioux Falls.Ā Would it be possible for UND to find and play a game against anyone during that stretch?Ā I don't feel good about waiting 15 days to play a game.Ā They would be healed up for the run in the tournament but the rust factor would be huge Ā
