In that case, so should Ryan Rauschenberger. But that isn't happening either.

Agreed

Look at the graph of cases in Italy and you'll see the US is trending almost the same if not worse than there. They are in a societal lockdown. People staying only in their homes. Rome is a ghost town.

Our cases per million are far fewer than Italy. Those of us who are going to deal with patients must rely on evidence and best practice.  Italy is a poor example.

We need to do what has worked well elsewhere. Italy is a SH..show.

I agree. But our trend line is worse than theirs. We will be a SH...show.

We know social distancing is the best way to flatten the peak of this. I understand the effects this has on parents who won't have daycare, but the entire society needs to take a break from each other for awhile anyway.

It is one of the ways. The others are self quarantine when ill, hand washing, covering coughs and sneezes, and keeping hands away from face.

Sex panther has got me laid as much as the flu shot has kept me from getting sick.

The efficacy of flu shots have varied over the years. Probably 40-60% effective. However there is evidence that those who are vaccinated are less likely to die from the flu, have milder symptoms if they get the flu. It is also thought those who are vaccinated are less likely to spread the flu.

So once everyone comes out of their basements in a few weeks hopefully it's warm enough here for those who have to stand in the soup line because they have lost everything and can't find a job.

A recession is best case scenario.

Just wait until a major layoff gets announced or a company’s payroll doesn’t execute...

That may have had something to do with the NYSE being located in New York City.

And hopefully we don’t have to sandbag for a flood during basement quarantine... wait, what if the basement floods during quarantine?

Well played.....well played.

Just another the layer of the onion to deal with.

If needed this community will throw social distancing out the window to save their neighbor's and/or friend's homes and neighborhoods.

Who am I suppose to feel more sorry for?

The 75 year old in the nursing home who might get Coronavirus

Or

The single mom in Washington State who just lost her income and no way to pay rent or daycare.

Many sad stories on twitter about people wondering how they are going to survive and it's not a hypothetical. The governors said they have to shut down the inside of restaurants, casinos, movie theaters, bars, etc.

And honestly this will shut down a lot of those small businesses permanently who wont be able to recover from the lack of income this is going to create for themselves.

My buddy who lives in WA also said schools out thru April 24. That's 6 weeks. No economic movement or activity at all with everything shut down. Loss of jobs everywhere. The scenarios you mention are real.
