Or maybe 100% think the cop’s behavior was wrong.  But alarmingly, only some think rioting, looting, burning cities to the ground and murdering cops is the wrong response.

Which makes it even scarier going forward.  The reaction of the police being injured and murdered isn't going to make things better, only worse.  If ever a cop is going to have an itchy finger, it will be if they have the mindset it's me or him.   We need more of the reaction like that of last night when some of the protesters hugged the National Guardsman.

Don’t people realize that it’s all about a certain element (elites for lack of a better term) controlling the mob, just by different methods?  It’s Machiavellian:  Be feared or be loved.  Suppress the uprising by force and system or placate those likely to uprise.   It’s all so disingenuous, it’s all meant for the very wealthy and powerful to stay that way.

The problem that will not go away is that upward mobility in society has been crushed.  Without a common achievable goal, society falls apart. Affordable home ownership and decent jobs.  That is what works.  Home ownership creates neighborhoods, schools, and safe communities.  It also builds some wealth.

The underlying issue is that people lack hope and a means to a better life.  Throw in your face racism and tragedy into the mix, with people with time on their hands...it’s a match tossed into kerosene.

Isn't that the mantra of a racist?  I know you, I know your type.

Most people I have talked to are disgusted by what happened to George Floyd.   The question is why does it happen?  Because people hate.  The problem is you can't cure that as you can see by the hatred of the police as well.  I want to know why those officers were even on the Police force after what they had done before.  It is a failure in leadership by those that should have fired those individuals long ago, especially with the history of the Minneapolis police department.

The unions protected them. Blame the party that supports the unions!

Really? You think there was any sincerity in Trumps visit? I wonder if Trump has ever even opened a bible in his life.
That was a poorly planned and executed photo-op, and nothing else. You seriously think Trump is a spiritual human being?

So what Christian values does Trump espouse? Narcissism, greed, pathological lying, anger, fraud, pettiness (should I go on)?
Are these the teachings of Jesus? Banging porn stars behind your wifes back, then trying to pay them off to be quiet, is that what
the church is promoting these days? And if Trump was a Dem I would be just as disgusted, so don't call me a liberal fag.

But go ahead all you people who think poor Donny is treated soooo unfairly, drink that kool-aid. I'm sure you find it delicious.

What a pathetic snowflake.

How do we fix this white privilege problem. I still have not heard a straight up answer for the liberals preaching this on TV. It goes further than just the police forces. Chris Cuomo got grilled on it by one of his guests and he couldn’t even come up with a good answer. If they knew how to fix it what didn’t they get it done under Obama and a super majority?

It tells me that many people of faith that support him are not at all sincere in the moral values that their pretending to espouse and thus any criticisms they have regarding the morality of others no longer to deserve to be taken seriously.

You approve of murdering babies and have the audacity to spout off about moral superiority. Priceless.

In the case of policing issues. If civil forfeiture continues the money taken goes to schools and drug rehab not police hardware. If a person is fired from a department for cause there is a board similar to that for nurses where they are forced to register so they can’t be rehired. All civilian complaints must be considered when reviewing any current case so patterns can emerge. Co workers viewing the violence should be considered as participating in the same way driving the get away car for a killer makes you guilty. Brutality settlements should be made from police union and retirement accounts. Retaliating for reporting any abuse should be a felony with real time behind it. The limits on their immunity should be severely curtailed

Oh I know how. We should all make our profile pictures on social media just a black screen. That surely will accomplish a lot.

What POTUS should have said yesterday should have been along the lines of

"We expect The Mayors and Governors to effectively police their cities and states to protect the people and their property. If they are unable to do so they should call on their National Guard for assistance and if that fails then have the Governor reach out to the Federal Government for assistance which may include Military assistance. One way or another we need to put a stop to the lawless white supremacist thugs that are rioting and looting these cities."

Wow,

A couple of things, they believe the driver may have panicked but didn't mean any, harm.  The driver had just unloaded fuel at a nearby gas station.  I believe the person at the gas station that was interviewed was the owner and said the driver was a good guy just doing his job.

On one of the videos of the arrest, I believe that it showed an officer taunting Mr. Floyd to get up into the car with the 3 officers still on him.  I believe the person that called the cops in the first place begged the officer to get off Mr. Floyd;s neck along with others in the crowd.  The video was shown on Court TV last night. The owner of the store offered to pay for the funeral.

With that I am out of here.  I just felt some different perspectives could be used in the discussions.  Agreement isn't necessarily important, discussion and active listening can be to improve situations.

What have I said that’s racist?   Find a quote of mine and point out your perceived racism. I’ll hang up and listen.  Thanks.

Do you know how long it takes to stop a semi traveling at highway speeds?  The amended reports indicated he was on the highway legally and closing time was moved up to 5pm on short notice. I’m not sure how someone was supposed to know there were people massing on the interstate. He reportedly hit the horn and slowed down to 30 mph by the time he got to the crowd. He didn’t hit anyone and unless he states otherwise, nothing in the video indicated he was trying to injure anyone. You have no idea of what “he figured” nor his intentions. Let the authorities sort it out before we judge.

Never driven a semi have no idea how long it takes. I knew he was on the highway legally before they announced the closing and said that in my posts. Still doesn't mean he couldn't have exited off, there was like 2 hours between when they announced they'd  be closing the interstate at 5 and when the incident happened. Maybe he did his best to slow down and he certainly did lay on the horn. There was no way he had slowed down to 30 by the time he got to the front of that crowd though. Watching cell phone video he was way over 30 when you saw those protesters diving out of the way. No matter the intent or lack thereof it was a scary situation and thankfully disaster seems to have been avoided.

I'd classify you as "weak" as would someone else as well.

Now police officers are being targeted. 4 shot in St. Louis last night, one in Vegas (on life support) and 2 in VA. 2 more injured in Buffalo when a SUV plowed into them. Another run over in the Bronx.

But you and UNDGrad06 can continue walking around the streets of your communities passing out hugs.

“Cops are being shot!   It's time to Tiananmen Square this civil unrest.  If you don’t agree go live in China".

We live in amazing times.

I’d like to know what can end the lawless behavior (looting, arson, murder).  Is there an ask that can be addressed in someway?  Murderous cop is in jail.

systemic inequality in economic outcome, opportunity, justice system...those aren’t things that change over night.  They were there under Obama too.

That's a very good point.

We had a black President and, I assume, many blacks expected change.  Never happened.   It exemplifies just how systematic this injustice is.
