I wouldn’t advise that, Oxbow6...we’re still in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic and waiting for that second surge.

I know you're saying this sarcastically, but this is a legit concern for those in the medical community.  I would not at all be surprised if we see a noticeable spike in 1-2 weeks.

This country is being bright to its knees by fear....not the virus. Recovery from getting the virus is a couple weeks. Recovery of society from this hysteria will be years.

It’s sad that about half the country still believes outlets like msnbc and cnn.  You would think after they lied everyday for 3 years about Russian collusion, people would get the hint of what their t

Do you know how long it takes to stop a semi traveling at highway speeds?  The amended reports indicated he was on the highway legally and closing time was moved up to 5pm on short notice. I’m not sure how someone was supposed to know there were people massing on the interstate. He reportedly hit the horn and slowed down to 30 mph by the time he got to the crowd. He didn’t hit anyone and unless he states otherwise, nothing in the video indicated he was trying to injure anyone. You have no idea of what “he figured” nor his intentions. Let the authorities sort it out before we judge.

That’s just crazy talk.  What kind a society would we have if that was the standard.  :silly:

Yay..........I think that's on the minds of all of those upstanding citizens in your city looting and rioting. If a spike happens is it  considered collateral damage???

But you and UNDGrad06 can continue walking around the streets of your communities passing out hugs.

So I give my position on one very specific situation on how to potentially not escalate the matter, thus keeping everyone (police, protester, and President) as safe as possible in that situation, and I am now giving out hugs in my community?  Nowhere have I given my position one the protests, the violence that has sprung up around the protests, or the incident that has led to the current events.

It seems as if nuance is not only dead, but it has been beaten to death by jumps in logic and painting with broad strokes.

Well... Cops are bad, whitey is bad, so yes I think you hit the nail on the head with the painting with broad strokes comments.

When you’re more upset about the President visiting your church than you are about it being attacked, looted, and almost destroyed...

Trump Derangement Syndrome is real.

Really? You think there was any sincerity in Trumps visit? I wonder if Trump has ever even opened a bible in his life.
That was a poorly planned and executed photo-op, and nothing else. You seriously think Trump is a spiritual human being?

So what Christian values does Trump espouse? Narcissism, greed, pathological lying, anger, fraud, pettiness (should I go on)?
Are these the teachings of Jesus? Banging porn stars behind your wifes back, then trying to pay them off to be quiet, is that what
the church is promoting these days? And if Trump was a Dem I would be just as disgusted, so don't call me a liberal fag.

But go ahead all you people who think poor Donny is treated soooo unfairly, drink that kool-aid. I'm sure you find it delicious.

I think his question/statement is still valid regardless of why one thinks Trump was there.

So you are in agreement with the Reverend of that church that, photos in front of a church are worse than killing cops, destroying businesses, rioting and looting?

Wait? Is this your position, or mine?

If it is your position, this is a free country and you are allowed believe whatever you want to believe. That is the great thing about America!

If you are saying it is my position, it has missed the mark completely.

Cops are being targeted now. If anyone doesn't see the lawlessness of that and how that undermines the fabric of a civil society MafiaMan has a one way ticket to the communist country of your choice.

All of these jumps to conclusions are so beautiful!  Could it be possible that the Reverend hates all of those things, and also doesn't want their church being used as a political photo opportunity? That is an option you know.

It could also be that the media distracts the weak minded into thinking Trump is the real problem here.

It’s the position of the rioters and the mainstream media.

No. Those things you listed are deplorable.  I'm just pointing out that Trump is a con man and a charlatan, always has been, and there was nothing sincere in that visit.

Sorry, I'm not even sure what this astute comment is suppose to mean. But then I went to Trump University so I'm not nearly as smart as you, 'cuz you obviously have all the answers.                   And usually I have more than just one Cheeto.

But the focus of the main stream media is on Trump at a church, or now accusing him of being a dictator because he mentions the military helping because liberal cities and governors will not attempt to control the rioting.   And protect their own citizens

So they decided to tear gas a peaceful protest, thus potentially escalating the situation, just so the President could walk over and have a photo opportunity in front of a church, whose leaders were not even informed of his presence or frankly even want him there. That doesn't seem like a very good strategy to stopping the "riots and looting" or for anything at all to be honest.

Just stopping by to let you know that they didn't use tear gas. Smoke cannisters instead.

You see Oxbow is attacking for you for posting on this website since you're a lazy, no good Cheeto eating liberal.  Nevermind that he and a few of his camp followers (MafiaMan) are seemingly on here 24/7.  They are true keyboard warriors fighting the good fight against evil liberals while also holding down highly important positions that afford them the luxury of posting hundreds of posts on a website daily.

I agree that Trump doesn't exactly exude biblical qualities, but what does it tell you that many people of faith still begrudgingly support him?   Hey, if there was another choice of someone that could unify that still held to the constitution and religious freedoms, I am sure many would jump on board.  Many consider him the lesser of two evils.   It seems many with a liberal slant think that churches are so far from essential that they could stay closed until the second coming.

It tells me that many people of faith that support him are not at all sincere in the moral values that their pretending to espouse and thus any criticisms they have regarding the morality of others no longer to deserve to be taken seriously.
