1000, 2000, 3000, 100000 tests per day......does it really matter as long as the positive percentage rate stays relatively consistent, the hospital admissions are stable and bodies aren't falling from the sky?

I think the goal with testing is to allow us to respond before bodies start falling from the sky.

The only people who need to be tested are health care workers, the elderly, and those with underlying health conditions.  If you are young (under 50) and healthy and are taking up a test kit, crowding

This country is being bright to its knees by fear....not the virus. Recovery from getting the virus is a couple weeks. Recovery of society from this hysteria will be years.

It’s sad that about half the country still believes outlets like msnbc and cnn.  You would think after they lied everyday for 3 years about Russian collusion, people would get the hint of what their t

OK.  So next year sometime we open things up, start concerts and events?  Who has eliminated the virus and how do they compare to the U.S.?

New Zeland and Iceland and to some extent Soutth Korea.  There may be others.

You of course know that the US has the most cases and most deaths from the virus than any other country in the world.  Russia may someday pass us as they are reporting 10,000 cases per day.

Sigh. The problem is you feel that could happen.

Someone show me any link, article or order that mandates that anyone has to leave their home, interact with anyone or start living their life again.

What are your thoughts on immunity passports? Prove you have had the disease and no longer a transmitter, that you are immune to be able enter your workplace. This idea is already circulating in the USA. Fauci already said it is a possibility on national news. I see this as a large threat

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2020/may/03/coronavirus-health-passports-for-uk-possible-in-months

I think the idea is great if you want to encourage discrimination and widen the gap that already exists between healthy people and those that are chronically sick.....but that seems to be the direction the people that are obsessed with testing for the sake of testing are headed with this.  While we are at it lets shut down the economy again and not let anyone go out until every 300lb person gets tested for heart disease.  Think of the lives that would be saved by doing that?

Children. The ones who aren't getting it.  The sentiment is great, the reality is... something else.

Statistics show my kids have a greater chance of death due to influenza, auto accidents or choking.

Fear for children?  Hasn't the data shown that the young have been largely unscathed?

Fear for the children of a disease that they aren't getting and aren't dying from but don't care at all about the economy and life they will live post pandemic.

Read my posts/I am a realist and realize the economy must be opened.  Also realize that until people take responsibility the virus will continue.

Isn't New York's situation much more "special" than North Dakota's?

What area with a population density and demographic profile similar to ND has been disproportionately hard hit?  With the positive cases to date, and the medical results of those positive folks,  what leads you to believe ND will turn into NY?

All the testing in the world is not going to eliminate the virus.  We're still likely to get it at some point in the next 8 months.  In ND we haven't flattened the curve, we've crushed it.  Any North Dakotan that gets the virus will get the best medical care we can provide.  Nobody is going to be shipped to the Fargodome.

Protect the vulnerable, be smart and let's get back to work

It's relevant because the chicken littles keep citing testing testing testing.....and percentages.....and mortality rates.....etc.  So citing normal daily activities that come with higher risk than Covid-19 is an attempt to put things into perspective for people that have a hard time seeing the big picture.

That is wonderful as long as the 1 who gets the virus is not yours.

Why do people questioning our state's current testing capability enrage you so? Why worry what's going on in my mind? We've got loonies out there that think it's their right to parade around without a mask.

LOL...so if one kid gets it then we were wrong for our decision.  ONE.

You are the only one who cares about state testing numbers.  You are telling us that basically everybody needs to be cleared before we can move on.

I understand that there's basically a 100% chance that my kids will get it (if they haven't already).  Isn't that a given?  If the goal is to stop any child from getting any virus at all cost we are truly screwed.
