What is it to you, you only care about legit DI Championship programs, you don't have any interest in programs outside of the REA, and last I heard, the REA takes great care of the hockey team you only care about. So $30,000 of privately donated money isn't hurting you at all except to see people (especially kids) smile, laugh and have a good time with the Fighting Hawk mascot. Not to pit one program against the other, but couldn't you make the same argument for the hockey team getting a 3 million dollar upgrade to there , at the time, 14 year old locker room? That could have been used for "knee braces, or water bottles, or coaches salaries, or really anything that could have actually helped the programs so desperately needing the funding." Especially maybe updating the locker room facilities they use that are easily over half a century old. Private funds given by donors can be allocated to however the donor sees fit. If they want to donate to new locker rooms at the Ralph, fine. If they want to donate towards a live mascot at UND sporting events, that's fine too!!
