Noticed Santiago listed with all the Jets..... does this mean something?!?

I hope so; the team deserves to have him in that group. Oliveira and Johannesson can handle the duties between tackles themselves, but UND needs more play-makers on the outside (i.e. Santiago out wide).

Was it ever explained why UND had to agree to spend 2 years in conference pergatory. Wasn't it possible to switch conferences without having to be an independent and give up all the award possibilies for players?

Schedules are set years in advance so unless you are replacing another school in a conference, it will take at least a couple of years to work a new team into the schedule.  While it was “nice” of the Big Sky to allow us to remain on their schedule, it would have been difficult for the eight BS teams to find a team to replace us each of the next two years.

Since Teeder thinks he is too good for Training Camp this year (JK Teeder), I hope UNDFootball360 and Tom Miller are ready to write, because I am getting pretty anxious for some football material, and definitely need some solid reading to get me through the next few weeks until the first game. Can't wait!

To me it is a poor reflection on the Athletic Department looking out for football student athletes,  B S needed us as much as we needed them, no all conference possibility for our juniors and seniors.

There was nothing we could do about it.  We were leaving the conference not that long after they did us a favor by allowing us to join a few years ago.  BSC didn't want a conference championship or all-conference honors to go to a school (or its players) who decided to move away from their conference.  Although I certainly wish our kids were able to earn those honors, I don't blame the BSC for making that decision.

Agree.  The real travesty was the transition from DII, moving up to FCS.  That 5 year death sentence makes zero sense when moving up!!  I don't know if we have ever fully recovered from that.

Is Idaho on a 5 year death sentence going the other way??  That would at least make a little sense when moving down.

Yeah when you have a roster full of FBS guys and drop down you are eligible to make the playoffs in the FCS, but when you have a roster full of DII guys they don't want you eligible........makes perfect sense......not.

It would be incredibly satisfying to go into their house dominate them.

On honor that our players are eligible for the next two years......National Champions.

And, no Offensive Coordinator of the Year honors are possible now either.  Dammit.

The way the program budget was it didn’t matter that we weren’t eligible. Total joke.

A walk in the park compared to the 10 days in a row of TWO-A-DAYS we had one year in the 90's.  The only thing missing was a shared wet cloth for water.
