She got to go somewhere where she could win instead of underperform. Two of the best players in the world (plus how many Olympians) couldn't do better than a T-2 in conference and zero NCAA wins.

You said this way nicer than I would have last night.

And play in front of "dozens" more fans.

Ever wonder if UND would still have a womens program if the twins would have stayed in MSP and not brought the high paid coach here?

Whoa? Mind blown right now. This is the kind of take that makes the monthly subscription price to this site worth it....not being sarcastic....if UND was allowed to fund women's hockey at a reasonable(See State, Bemidji) level we could likely still have a program.

Great point!  The results of his poor management of the program certainly contributed to the decision to cut.

Not sure if you are being sarcastic, as much as I enjoyed (as much as womens hockey can be enjoyed) the twins and the elevation in the program, something took the thing off the rails?  Not saying the twins directly brought the downfall, but Idalski sure was a major issue, but more so the person(s) above him that let the financial side of the program do what it did, it is a niche sport with next to no fans.     Along the same thoughts,  Did the cost of playing at the Ralph hurt the program?

If anything all Schloss is doing is reaffirming what a train wreck our program was.

Agreed.

When does it end for him? Does he only plan to track NCAA stat lines for formerly rostered players while they're still playing? Any and all UND commits? Girls who may have given a passing thought to playing at UND when they were, like, 12?

It just continues to strike me as petty and ultra-, ultra-passive-aggressive.

Or maybe there's a hard-core group in Grand Forks that actually remembers some of the players by name, and who likes to re-live the pain over and over.

I will touch the on-ice stuff: They never could get to the next level because they always found a way to stub their toes in non-conference or against Mankato or St. Cloud once.  The fact that they had a world class goalie in net for 4 years and only got 1 NCAA ticket out of it was terrible.

That triple OT against the U was the turning point.  UND buries a winner instead and they have a banner (lets be real, they get past the Gophers and they are winning it).  Of course that year they were lucky to make the NCAAs because they stubbed their toes almost one too many times (Parizak OT winner against BSU saved their season).

When?  When the miracle occurs and they win the lawsuit that gets their team back.

They will find a way to write a "where are they now" story on "the girl who flew into Grand Forks on the day the program was cut".
