I see the soap box kicked out from all the "habitually offended" nickname protesters and any leverage the Tribes may have ever had gone. (That second one, well, see above re: DAPL.) I would agree much as miss the old nickname and logo, and as bad as may find the new nickname and logo, UND did dodge a some major bad publictiy by not having the Fighting Sioux nickname with the DAPL drama in full swing. Every time UND played a major team in basketball prior to 2015, (k-state, Kansas, Wisconsin etc) they always mentioned the nickname issue until the Fighting Hawks was picked.
