"What about "Giving them their day in court"

Still another school that obviously doesn't believe in giving their student athletes "their day in court.".

I'm having a hard time figuring out if you are being serious or not. They were involved in an altercation with the police, they went to jail, one guy had to be pepper sprayed. What other option was there other than suspending them until they meet with the coach and president? Or were you just being sarcastic?

He was referring to the school in Fargo where they didn't publicly discipline a group of football players who were arrested for putting false signatures on petitions. The Athletic Director at said school stated that they weren't going to discipline the players until "they had their day in court". Even after the players filed guilty pleas the athletic department didn't give them any kind of public punishments. Yet St. Cloud State could suspend 2 seniors during the playoffs. That shows a lot more discipline on the part of the St. Cloud State administration.

So, was Matthews trying to get at Robinson to fight him? His teammate? SCSU had a chance to get rid of Matthews earlier in 2013, when the rocket science major also, allegedly, tried to take on a cop. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=9&ved=0CEEQFjAI&url=http%3A%2F%2Fknsiradio.com%2Fnews%2Flocal%2Fpolice-break-fight-mcrudys-bar&ei=N12dUqqHLeiT2QWp5oHAAQ&usg=AFQjCNG3qCikVWffP8Yo6NXCd0NWxTgjHg&sig2=_2Z_wfZRrwqsBwEaPYiAmA

82SiouxGuy got it right - near identical situation with similar charges (not the fake signature gathers, the alley fighter) - one school had a student code of conduct and institutional integrity so they gave out suspensions of starters during the national playoffs, the other had a game to win.

You both are correct...texted 2 of my good SU buddies in Fargo last night about these similar situations and basically got the incidents were apples to oranges from each one.

Beck was suspended until the facts came out and the charge was dropped.

And the previous resisting arrest he got? Three strikes and your out - of summer workouts.

He likely wouldn't have had to miss those, either, if his dad hadn't gone down to Fargo and drug him back to Munich by the short hairs. Easy to "suspend" someone that wasn't going to be there anyway.

Except it isn't....

But please continue trying to compare apples to oranges.

We know that Travis got nothing the first go around he had. What about this guy then? This was Travis's second resisting arrest charge and nothing happened the first time. You only mentioned the minor and not the resisting charge? Why is that?

You guys are the ones comparing what Beck did to a guy that has had multiple bar fights that the police needed pepper spray to break up.

Like I said I have no issue with how the first minor was handled, the resisting charge was dropped. If Travis wanted to he could have beat the second resisting charge in court, he had a strong case.

Was it the part where he was on camera going around the corner away from the cops while in handcuffs? Or the part when they asked him why he tried to get away he said that he wanted to get some fresh air?

The resisting charge was dropped the first time because he agreed to plead guilty to the minor.
