A new yard can be west to town and double as an extension of the industrial park. Companies are looking for space now, and railroad access is often a must. Williston, Minot, and Bismarck are building huge RR yards and to my knowledge they are paying off big for those cities. ND has a growing and pent up demand for manufacturing space with RR access. BNSF or a developed could make a fortune redeveloping the land for other purposes: condos, apartments, or even selling land to UND. Robin Hall will have a soaring glass tower, which will be the focal point of the west campus, and will be a UAS and aerospace research center. The main benefactors of the building, Si Robin and Mary Bazar, run a California based aerospace antenna company and are not alumni to my knowledge. Quite a gift.
