Jeremy Jorgenson NDSU has stated at least 1 time that I heard. NDSU playing Football games in Grand Forks was off the table. I believe him.

So, just spitballin' here...

if if the Great Northern FBS conference actually happens, NDSU will Not join because they won't play in GF? :D

So not only do you drag up posts that are years (even decades) old, but you bring up dated, out of context quotes? NDSU doesn't have a choice, as long as UND and NDSU are in the same conference, they have zero say in playing in Grand Forks every other year.

In 2020 and beyond, he has no choice unless NDSU goes FBS.

I don't think it's ever been officially announced that NDSU is playing in GF in 2020.   It's going to come down to who is dropped from NDSU's conference schedule and where that game was to be played.   For example if we are replacing say Youngstown State and they would have played at Fargo in 2020, they will plug us in instead.    The fact that we play in Fargo in 2019 isn't going to have any bearing on where the MFVC starts the series.    We can only hope we get them in GF first.   I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get them at GF until 2021

I'm saying in 2020 we begin conference play with NDSU, so it doesn't matter what NDSU says, they will be in Grand Forks sooner than never whether its 2020, 2021, or 2022.

Hopefully we are ready for them by 2019.    It would be embarrassing to get blown out again like last time.    Things need to change

Last time we were just 2 years removed from Mussman this time around we will be 6 years into the Bubba era. Things better be different.

Since we had a big slip last season, this fall season should give us some insight on how ready we might be. We should get much more of a feel for readiness from the September 7th game in Fargo next year.  Then, I hope it's in 2020, were we'll know by about 4:30 on a fall Saturday.

Fingers crossed on that last sentence!

If Bubba has another bad season like last year, well then in 2019 we can say we are 1 year removed from the Bubba era.   I just pray that Bubba shows me some reason to be really confident about what lies ahead.

The North Dakota Fighting Hawks, which will compete as an FCS Independent in 2018 and 2019, will make their first-ever visit to Columbia to take on Mizzou on Aug. 30, 2025. UND will receive a $550,000 guarantee for playing the game.

Future FBS games:
2018 - Washington ($500,000)
2019 - Open (still one open spot, 12 game season)
2020 - Kansas St ($475,000)
2021 - Utah St ($400,000)
2022 - Nebraska ($515,000)
2023 - Open
2024 - Iowa State ($550,000) (12 game season)
2025 - Missouri ($550,000) (12 game season)
2026 - Nebraska ($560,000)

Pretty attractive, relatively close games with nice paydays outside of Utah St, though that is easily the one UND has the best chance in.

Definitely attractive. I will likely attend the Kansas St, Utah State and Nebraska games. All easy drives.

Sweet!  All but the Washington and Utah St. games should be slam dunks for me.

Any chance for Minny or Wisconsin in 2023?

Not sure what the chances are but Gophers have an opening probably the season opener for that year. Already have a road game at North Carolina scheduled so it will definitely be another home game.

I would think UND has been in contention for some time, but the $ are probably being negotiated down with a few schools hoping to get the MN game.
