  1. It would completely depend on the specs, especially the size.  I don't remember the final numbers, but the Alerus Center budgeted more than $900,000 for video boards and HD equipment when they were looking at upgrading.  You probably aren't getting much of a video board for $50,000.

This one works for me. 36 grand.

  2. I have always been puzzled why this wasn't built into the plan when they put up the building. From a priority standpoint, this should have been near the top. Sacrifice the leather seats for a scoreboard/video board for example. Should have been some way to chop out some cost. Strange.

  3. Walthall turned down one I believe

He will be at msum next year unless something crazy happens

And yes shay is a good recruiter.

Yes. Shay is a good coach/recruiter. If he leaves, he will be missed. Which job did Walthall turn down?

  4. Without shay

    We ain't getting him

Baker on campus either this weekend or the following. Speculated Shay departure has zero impact on whether or not Mr Baker chooses to transfer to und. Also waiting on information from you on the mid majors interviewing Walthall.

  5. It was worth it, Bubba has things turned around, too bad one program sinks another, in the 90's and early 2000's, the major programs were all flying high, hockey, M&W basketball, and football.

Wouldn't 1 year be a small sample size to say a coach has turned a program around? I like Bubba and believe he will do a nice job but too early to say he has turned the program around.

  6. Yah....as did 5300+ others...mostly UND fans...with probably another 5000+ that would have come had there been seats.

Just keep working on that scoreboard thing for the Betty if that is a possible solution for the MBB program.

Just trying to make you chuckle. Sounds like you got, gee, well, defensive? Not a hockey fan.

  7. Sorry?

Win or lose...it is fun to watch a UND team that competes and plays hard.

See that about 3 or 4 times a year from a BJ's squad.

Nah, sorry you felt compelled to attend a hockey game.

  8. Too tired from enjoying the weekend of hockey in Fargo so can Art or hoopster please list the myriad of excuses as to why this current dumpster fire known as UND MBB is acceptable in its current state.

I'll need a good chuckle before heading to work tomorrow.............

Haha. Not gonna bite on that one. You can spin back about 50 pages if you like. Sorry about the hockey game though.

  9. The Betty needs some minor upgrades. It is probably the 3rd best facility in the Big Sky. Ask any player, they love it.

We are so spoiled regarding facilities that it is almost nauseating.

Nice gym. Needs a scoreboard. Training facilities are subpar for sure. I think most players would tell you that as well. Gym has great possibilities though with a scoreboard.

  10. Just a guess, but I suspect you would have a difficult time finding another division I coach, or division II for that matter, with as many as nine years at his current job without so much as a single 20-win season to his credit.

Probably wouldn't have to look to far outside of our league to find that since 20 win seasons are rare in BSC. I doubt Verlin has had a 20. Katz? Maybe this year.

  11. Oh no you don't.....I knew someone was going to try and pull that.  Not on my watch. ;)

Of course Texas has different overall expectations vs. North Dakota (or even NDSU for that matter).  But the same principles of excellence can be applied wherever you are.  For UND, that means being perennial Big Sky conference contenders in both the regular season and in the post-season tournament, which will translate in NCAA tournament appearances and eventually some wins.  The Cow College one hour south of here has established expectations like these and it is high time Faison and Kelley start doing the same around here.

Don't disagree one bit. Do disagree with the standard being yearly deep runs in ncaa tournament which is the standard at Texas.
