The team's nickname is the Fighting Hawks. Of course sports journalists are going to use the nickname.
When reading the article, it does seem he went out of his way to never say "UND."

If Shepherd is an NCHC official next weekend, the NCHC has no integrity.
Todd Anderson is still around. ammiright?
The Frozen Faceoff Championship Game Third Period is the worst officiating ever in college hockey. Todd got mad. Todd called mad.

Late to the party... but, did Denver challenge the call on the ice? ... had Denver already used it's timeout before that review? It's late... are coach's review even a thing in the NCHC?

Yes you can pause and rewind. Hold the left side of the Apple TV remote.
Vegas_Sioux: Thanks for the info. I don't currently own an Apple TV, but based on the poor performance of the Roku NCHC App, I might buy one.
Just to confirm, have you paused the game for like 20 minutes and then returned and played from that point forward? (The Roku app only works for about 30 seconds...)
Thank you!

Does anyone use AppleTV for live viewing of NCHCtv?
Does full DVR functionality work on the live feed?
In other words, when watching the game at the time it is played, can you pause and rewind like on a TIVO?Full live DVR functionality was committed to by NCHC and Neulion in their August press release, but they recently confirmed DVR does not work for the live feed on Roku. Based on the Roku streaming methodology, it can only delay 30 seconds max during live streaming. When watching the next day, full DVR is available, but what's the use at that point...

One of the great leaders in Sioux hockey history will go down as the last captain to have played in a Sioux jersey. While Stephane Pattyn's time in the green and white is drawing to a close, the General’s legacy will live on. His last chance at a national title is here and now. This is his year. His revenge against his rivals starts tomorrow in my dream bracket, The General’s Bracket of Revenge.
Regional Semifinal: UND has not played Quinnipiac since 2006. The General has never seen a Bobcat. We’ll circle back to Round 1. I promise it’s worth it.
Regional Final: SCSU stole the first Penrose Cup from UND on the last night of the 2013-14 season and knocked UND from the NCHC tournament just a week ago. The General shall have his revenge over SCSU, his WCHA and NCHC “conference rival.”
Semifinal: Yale and Minnesota have knocked UND out of the NCAAs each of The General’s three years at UND. We could play either of them in our semifinal, but let’s face it, “.6” still rings in our ears. In his swan song, give us the Gophers and give The General his revenge.
Final: Denver won last year’s NCHC Tournament title and arguably serves as UND’s second biggest rival. They also kicked us while we were down last weekend in the NCHC consolation game. The winner of this championship game would move past the other for second all-time in NCAA hockey championships. (The Gophers are tied for fifth.) The General shall have his greatest revenge, take home college hockey’s biggest prize, and leave UND with a bright future.
So, how does The General's Revenge start in the Regional Semifinal? In 2011, Quinnipiac captain Matthew Peca was captain of the Pembroke (ON) Lumber Kings who won the national Junior ‘A’ RBC Cup in Canada. Even though they lost in the preliminary round to the Portage (MB) Terriers and were tied in the round robin standings, the Lumber Kings advanced to the next round on an uncommon tie breaker. The ousted Terriers’ captain and MVP: The General. Quinnipiac captain Peca ended The General’s Junior career. The General’s revenge starts with Quinnipiac, ending Peca’s college career.

How about any scenarios where SCSU watches the NCAA's instead of resting up for them?
I can get them to 12th, but never in scenarios where the are enough auto-qualifiers to displace them. I think they are safe.

A quick run of the Pairwise predictor shows that a loss to Miami would be pretty damaging. Would likely take a Michigan or Mankato loss in their first game, followed by a win by UND in the consolation game, and no other upsets getting autobids.
I'm not finding scenarios where we win, then lose, and still get in without a first round loss by Mankato or UM.

Who gets the Friday night game? Top seed always or lopsided attendance scenario goes to better drawing second seed? (This year is SCSU obviously.)
